genshin helping wuthering waves ABSOLUTE CINEMA, bet you didn't expect this 😅
UPDATE: after yesterdays hotfix patch 03/07/24, some memory leak issues may have been fixed! read more: www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1due9zk/small_hotfixpatch_seems_to_have_fixed_memory_leak/
Having Genshin in the background while developing sent me
The funniest thing about it is that it's probably not even a joke.
Yo Hi Jello!
I hope that contract worth it bro 😂
omg hey jello
This is peak comedy, I can't
This is a hilarious situation ngl, Genshin and WuWa fans can finally unite on one thing xD
Damn man, I thought this is a joke until I tried, I opened genshin impact and after that opened the wuthering waves, then I was playing feeling a little bit smooth for sure, but I still wasn't sure if it was because of genshin, so I closed genshin impact and came back to Wuwa to keep playing, the game instantly started to stutter and give me fps drops.
I opened genshin again and them wuwa was almost butter smooth again
what the fuck???????
haha, genshin killer need genshin to save them
This method doesn't need to be genshin other games works too
Instantly? Are you sure? In the video it's mentioned it happens gradually, it's obvious something's not right, I actually believe the part he said they kept genshin open for copying but c'mon let's be logical, it doesn't happen instantly, it takes time for the trash to pile up
this actually makes sm sense because when i start the game it ruins so smoothly but the more i play the more it deteriorates
This is the funniest optimization fix I've ever seen
The patches are helpful. Day one NPCs weren't rendering, choppy frames and stuff even at lowest setting. Now it runs smoother with little higher graphics and in the close room there's no issues. Hope they fix it too cause I want to play long term
lol when i was doing the shooting party quest i bumped into an npc and the npc’s animation just distorted its body. It happened everytime, i think they slapped on a regular npc’s animation onto the guy’s model cause its usually supposed to be an enemy
If the issue really is a resource leak, exiting the game and rebooting your PC every so often would clear it up.
I did notice the game does get slower and glitchier after some time (like items taking long to pick up or Chixia's aimed shot mode glitching out), but I instinctively just restarted the game each time (from experience with way too many other bugged games, like Fallout 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R).
As a software developer, I definitely find the idea of running two games at the same time to be funny as a workaround, but I could see some truth to it given how many different ways I saw software glitch out. Hopefully it gets fixed for real, so we don't need to theorize more workarounds. Thanks for reporting!
It's acutally because the game uses 7.8gb of ram. And most people have phone that only has 4gb and 6gb of ram. I have 32gb of ram on my PC. and wuttering waves run smooth af for me.
@@georgepierre3594 I'm seeing 2690 MiB of RAM spawning in town from the PC version, and growing steadily to 3000 MiB as I walk around.
It goes back down to 2850 MiB if I pause the game and ALT+TAB, which is possibly why people are saying Genshin running alongside "solves" it (because they're likely alt+tabbing between the games every so often).
@@studiesinflux1304 I'm also dev and I facepalmed so hard... This is so ridiculous and cringe - this idea that one special game is so perfect that it can handle memory of other games and fix them. If it happens it's obvious that it's just coincidence that can be replicated without any "special game" xD I won't lie, my brother use interactive map and don't have real problems with this game even on old PC (but with 16GB RAM and SSD). I know that some people solved issues by switching from HDD to SSD and I won't comment on that...
@@georgepierre3594 phone runs on lower settings, ram use is lower too.
@@georgepierre3594 mrpokke (cc, have livestream) uses rtx 4080 & 64gb ram and he still reported massive framedrops & 4 times crashes during launch. So it's not just inadequate specs. Kuro games themselves acknowledge the issue and are working on it.
That so true when i have genshin running the background Wuwa stop crashing and it runs butter smooth. thanks for the help. I can play Wuwa without issues
Bro wtf this really work lmao, i know all of ww fans is scorching genshin now but look who save the day
Although Genshin run on Unity, they run on modified Unity engine to conform the Genshin's requirement as open-world game (I read this somewhere from Chinese's social website, but I can't find the source).
Just some partial fact, Unity engine DO NOT LIKE open-world game compare to another engine like UE4 or UE5, in some extent, Source 2. While it is not entirely impossible to make open-world game in Unity, but it take TON of effort and optimization just to make it work compare to UE4 (also the reason why ToF and Wuwa used this engine instead of Unity). There is a reason why most open-world game developer pick UE engine compare to Unity apart from graphical requirement. However, Hoyoverse did a good job on opimization and gonna give credit where it due. Otherwise, Genshin would run way worse compare to Wuwa.
You may say, is Wuwa lazy on optimizing prior to the launch? On some extent maybe because they run through 3 test (Technical, CBT1,CBT2) and still lagging, but remember this is their first time developing this kind of game, and their first time using Unreal Engine, maybe give them some times to optimize it.
This may come as a nerd, but it has been explained by CN community than Wuwa's bad optimization was coming from unproperly managed RAM allocation known as memory leaking (basically using your ram more than needed).
The Plot Thickens!
The only issue I encountered was that it logs me off every time I close the game through the menu. When I just brutally terminate it with right-clicking on WuWa icon on the panel then "Close", next time it starts fine. And closed beta 2 had similar issue, couldn't exit the game with Exit in the loading menu.
holy crap its true, i was playing with 6k memory wuthering by itself, but i opened star rail and it droped to 1k
I main Danjin, she’s a really good resonator.
My pc is so shit it doesn’t let me run two games at once
All my problems were gone the moment I moved it to SSD. I have a very old PC btw, yet from this moment it runs near perfectly well on ultra settings.
If what you are saying is true, Im gonna be baffled. I installed it on the solid drive first thing without any thought.
@@Kyugorn Get ready to redownload it anew; I couldn't just "move it".
@@vincentwolf1456 you could copy files manually and then install it in the location you moved your files to, it would detect them
@@KyugornHDDs can actually be a bottleneck for older hardware. My Apex Legends ran smoother when I got an SSD lol.

I thought this was a joke until I tried it. Fixed stuttering for me.
but but i unistalled genshin... jesus! i can't escape Xianling i guess.
I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of xiangling. I try to play diluc. My xiangling deals more damage. I try to play yoimiya. My xiangling deals more damage. I try to play Hu tao. My xiangling deals more damage. I want to play Klee. Her best team has xiangling. I want to play raiden, childe. They both want xiangling.
She grabs me by the throat. I fish for her. I cook for her. I give her the catch. She isn't satisfied. I pull engulfing lightning. "I don't need this much er" She tells me. "Give me more field time." She grabs bennett and forces him to throw himself off enemies. "You just need to funnel me more. I can deal more damage with homa."
I can't pull for homa, I don't have enough primogems. She grabs my credit card. It declines. "Guess this is the end." She grabs gouba. She says "Gouba, get them." There is no hint of sadness in his eyes. Nothing but pure, no icd pyro application. What a cruel world.
there is no escaping xiangling might as well.accept the all powerful polearm Archon 😂😂😂😂

Try running at another game even if it’s not genshin
@@apleb7605 it's all fun as a joke but if you do less damage with characters like klee/yoimya/hutao/raiden you seriously have some skill issues, I gave my c5 xiangling a c6 Bennet and raiden's r2 engulfing lighting but she was nowhere near my raiden hypercarry or yoimiya yelan double geo comp, the only way she was on par with them was with ayato as a driver, childe would do as well

I CANNOT believe this works
Genshin Impact fixing wuthering waves is the funniest irony ever
The joke write itself lmao
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT SOLUTION AT ALL.
So WuWa works like those video downloaders.
It gets quicker when I play UA-cam while downloading.
this dont work anymore after genshin updated their launcher to hoyoplay😭😭... it used to work for me but now after genshin launcher update, im back to lagging in wuwa
just play any steam game in the background then close it after wuthering games gets stable fps
I literally just tried it and it was the first time I ever loaded into Wuwa without it stuttering like crazy for a bit. It works with both genshin and star rail and it started stuttering again after I closed genshin/star rail
Discovering this yesterday was one of the funniest things I'd heard in gaming this year. I hope they fix this though but this is hilarious.
It is working for me lmao😂. Before playing i always clean up memory and make sure memory plus is turned on
This is really strange 😂. I didn't experience the memory leak issue, I played for hours at a time with performance monitor running, and I didn't notice unusual memory usage. May be because 32G memory my rig got? The problem I experience is that the game is very slow for the first three to five minutes, but afterward its quite smooth. May be shader precompile issue. What surprised me was that the game runs really well in my Retroid Pocket 4 pro. I usually run with high resolution, medium graphics and 45 fps to limit battery usage. But it can run max-out no problem.
I mean, if you have a good pc that can run both games, then it's a very crappy solution, but works. Now if you cannot run both games at the same time, since Wuthering Waves is already pretty heavy, then that doesn't work.
Strange how in Wuthering Waves my PC GPU consumes only around 120 watt at 1620p res with DLSS Quality, while in Genshin it is 150 watt average on 1080p and I encountered 180 watt high during a battle today in Sumeru desert.
I play Genshin at native 4k and wuwa on 4k DLSS quality and they both eat the same amount of power. ~140 watt.
However, wuwa power consumption is a bit weird because sometimes it'd push my GPU to 300 watts in random menu. I remember my fans spinning up on the loading screen.
Rtx 3080 10gb for reference.
I just have very high ms as a problem, like it could be 80 ms one second then 730 ms the next, and idk if it's the game or my computer but seeing your smooth gameplay leads me to think it's my pc and now I am sad, unless there is a fix out there for it
I think it is netcoding or server issue not your pc. I have familiar issue, but when I have good ping I can play on high settings with little to no problem.
@@reactiondavant-garde3391 this comforts me a bit knowing I don't need a whole new pc-
it's not your PC - the combat is designed to be still smooth on high ping because a huge amount of the game is client-side! this has clear advantages like the instant swaps, which feel super refreshing, but it also opens the game up to some security issues
@@Pheonee Sadly not smooth for me though, it is for the first half but then the game freezes and stutters and lags during the combat itself because of the ms constantly changing
@@thesingingsirenz4714 Are you by any chance running the game off a slow, external, or nearly full hard drive? I'm noticing the game spikes my NVMe SSD to 30% when loading new stuff (like combat or other areas).
A mechanical hard drive (like Seagate Baraccuda 3.5", WD Black 3.5") or any drive coming off a connection with USB 3.0 or slower cable would be overloaded by that kind of usage causing stutters, usually between 0.1 and 0.5 seconds.
It's something I noticed on any "open world" game where they were targeting PlayStation 5 or XBox Series S: they are horrible at optimising for disk usage because those consoles have an storage subsystem that is on par with the highest-end PCs at the time of those consoles' release.
If you are indeed running a slow drive, then yeah there's not much you can do (since the game would have to use the disk better to fix it), and the MS ping counter is actually your PC struggling.
🤣🤣🤣 GENSHIN GIGACHADS 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️📢📢📢🔥🔥🔥🔥
i dont think i can run both games at the sametime but this is funny asf
if you play on PC, then it's perfectly fine even with 8GB of RAM. just page 16GB of virtual memory from your SSD and you can even add star rail in the mix.
Reddit actually took this one for real
Sometimes your enemy is your best support and keeps you stable. 😂
Does anyone else have graphics issues? Even in the highest settings some textures don't load and I wonder if there's some way to fix it.

it didn't really work on my pc bc I have a GTX 550 Ti and a i5 2520 CPU, I need to buy a better version of both

Yea it works with defferent gaes too.. I have mhrise open in the back ground..
I guess we can slap any well optimized games as cleaner and it'd still work😂
@@belliebeltran4657 yeah. It works because Wuwa launcher has a memory leak issue even as of present patch. So you open a game that also uses alot of memory so it could eat what wuwa launcher is leaking.
Then isn't that UE problem? I'm not a game developer but I think engine is the one that handle freeing up the memory

I ran wuthering in the background and launched genshin to do my domains. The domain would get big lag spikes. Same for Wuthering. This was on launch. I'm not going to bother with these self fixes.
@@spartan421 so it sounds like having wuwa open first is a bad thing vs the video saying have genshin going helps not a fix but helps.
I'm hearing multiple anecdotes that it's real 😵💫
Yeah it works i even alternate genshin artifact and relic farming in hsr
In general performance "hacks/fixes" are very rife with placebo, even today you can see people saying things like disable E-cores or set CPU affinity when in reality they likely did nothing and just perceived a performance increase. However, if it did help, it likely isn't due to Genshin specifically, but rather the increased CPU/GPU load pushing your PC to send more power- this may occur if you play on a laptop or have a lazy power curve where your CPU or GPU just refuses to clock higher unless it's under sufficient load, and WuWa alone doesn't trigger that condition so it just stutters along with an underclocked CPU. By running two games you require enough power for your PC to finally kick itself into gear. This is personally the situation I think most people who try this fix and feel an improvement find themselves in.
It's possible the amount of memory Genshin takes up may just solve a memory leak issue from WuWa (although I kinda doubt this). Honestly I'm not sure if there was a memory leak issue at all or how it was triggered. I see some people say that WuWa's memory usage decreased upon launching Genshin but that is just due to memory compression which is standard OS memory management- unused RAM is filled when possible and as memory pressure increases, less accessed memory addresses get moved to the pagefile to maintain address spaces larger than physical memory.
this is funny.... but opening both games at the same time will kill my pc
this is so funny lol
I think its because genshin uses unity which is optimised for potato pcs Unity clears like background apps while genshin runs meanwhile theres wuwa who probaly uses unreal which is for high end and dont clear background apps idk if its true tho so correct me if im wrong
genshit midpact finally good at something lmao
If you have no experience in Computer Operation, you should not make this video, you are only promoting hatred
Thats UE4 for you, and with features of UE5 which can make it worse
If u dont wanna do this then try using FSR and DLSS (Nvidia only).
I have those turned on in game I think!
Try changing the DLSS settings to say balanced or performace. Hope this helps.
don't use FSR, game looks crap with it on PC.
mutualism at its finest
Just restart wuwa and/or your pc. This will clear ram. If you have low ram like 8gb running both will just make it worse
The game itself is poorly optimized. Even restarting the pc does not help.
if you have 8bg ram then you're not even supposed to play the game, that's below minimum requirements

You can quit and wait for "returning player" bonuses if you think a few patches would help your game stability later.
(I don't have any official info about that, but I don't know of any game with a battle pass, gacha and online RPG, that also didn't run returning player bonuses. I think Wuwa is fine. Hi3 is terribly optimised for PC client (it is a glorified emulator) and HSR has terrible frame drops in big cities.
I have not found any memory leak - then again I have 64 GB Ram 😅 so it might not matter much.
Yes, I can´t even keep 120 fps in HI3rd on the lowest setting while in PGR I have stable 120 fps.
I can´t imagine how bad it will be with the new engine & graphics (HI3rd)
Yes, to be honest Mihoyo is quite poor on PC optimization as well, Genshin is actually quite CPU heavy and if I recall correctly all their PC ports suffer from "overdraw" issues that tank performance since the game was originally designed for mobile GPUs with a different rendering standard. Compare Genshin to true optimization wizardry like Metal Gear Solid V which runs smoothly on literal potato pcs and looks great still.
@@aerohydra3849 Genshin has bad optimization? When in fact I started playing Genshin during launch on a potato with 4GB ram and a 2Ghz cpu, I did not encounter any issue and the game can run 55-60 at High Settings while constant 60 at low to medium settings.
@@anonymouse3706they said it's CPU heavy, and yea it dosent take much to run genshin
@@aerohydra3849
Genshin is CPU heavy? This just isn't true. I've played Genshin on a 10 year old PC with a 3rd gen i7 and it ran smoothly.
It even accommodated a GPU upgrade (GTX 1050 ti to Rx 5500 xt 8gb) which did increase FPS, because the CPU wasn't being bottlenecked.
Saying the game ran bad because it was designed for mobile GPU is also plainly wrong. The game's ports were developed side by side so it's not like it had a terrible port. PC version also have far more advanced settings to be turned on so obviously mobile isn't being prioritised either.
This makes no sense. One game / program having access to another's memory is a security nightmare. Only admin apps can do this.
Imagine them reading passwords out of your browser tabs.
Genshin is abusing admin privileges if this is true.
Wuwa is the one with the issues, not Genshin. If Wuwa's having memory leak problems then other programs are helping to offset it. It just happens to be that genshin and wuwa are similarly built that the memory shifts. I'm sure the devs will fix it but it's a nightmare how unoptimized this game is
@@nobody-xh6ii agree on wuwa possibly being poorly written. Disagree on other apps helping it. Reading into other apps memory is a massive red flag, and I'm plenty convinced Genshin wouldn't be doing this.
Even if Genshin did, how will it know what memory was leaked by wuwa exactly?
weird "fix", i would assume that if you can run both games at the same time you dont have these issues
Ok let try this with Hi3 or Star Rail. I already uninstalled GI in my laptop so it a hassle to download it back.
Installed genshin,Nope didn't work for me yep definitely a meme uninstalled genshin , absolute misinformation was expecting for it to work. Even though by logic it shouldn't as directory for both games under a different path . RAM will identify that .
