My uncle used to have one back in 92 and Daihatsu in my opinion is the best choice
the only downside to daihatsus is the have a strange PCD its 4x110, my old Daihatsu Mira Avanzato was the same, i ended up running Capri wheels with wobble bolts and a milled centre bore, or old rx7 wheels.
I love my HiJet; I use it daily on my farm. Mine is pretty sketchy because no one wants to sell them here in the midwest, so its a 7th owner unit with a million offroad miles and most body parts loose, dented or missing altogether picked up off Craigslist. But it beats the living crap out of a Rhino or Gator. Quieter, faster, heat, carries more, climbs hills better, better in mud, snow - you name it.
Dammit Jimmy! I've wanted one of those for ages, and now you've shown me where to buy one!

We have that daihatsu hijet in our country,without the AWD.That thing is sooo reliable,usually the engine outlast the chassis,and were in a tropical country without snow,chassis usually dont rot in our country...

The Jimny IS the Samurai and vice-versa.
Or rather, the Samurai was our version of the second gen Jimny. You could get it as a hard top here. They colloquially refer to them as tin tops. They're pretty rare, but they do exist. There was also the Rally Top, which was a removable fiberglass top like you see on Broncos, Blazers, and 4Runners. My neighbor has one of those.

Just a tip on this if you hit a pothole always check toe alignment that weakest point on those trucks. There very common in the Philippines as a Daily and Farmers delivery Truck but we converted them to LHD.

The Suzuki uses basically the same engine, the F6A. In theory the turbo etc should fit fine...
I live in Japan, and it’s crazy how common these trucks are. I didn’t realize how much we Americans love these super common, super cheap kei trucks!

Finally someone that explains the differences in engines. Everyone assumes my Honda is the same as all the other mini trucks. :) mine is an earlier Honda than those in the video so only 2 cylinders and 550cc.

They're quite popular here in Arizona. They're perfect for the dunes: lightweight, 4WD, and you don't need a trailer to tow them. Unlike a side-by-side or a quad, they're also enclosed and have air conditioning. Old Suzuki SUVs and their Geo/Chevrolet counterparts are also popular for the same reasons. The snowbirds love those because they can also use them as RV dinghies.

Very cool mini. We have been trying to get one with a lift for our equine therapy program. Our program has several clients in wheelchairs or with a physical disability that a mini truck with a lift would be perfect. Plus when we go to hospitals it would helps us get the kids onto the horses.

Any where from 5 to 7 for a decent one. 8 to 10 for like a 10k miles super clean one. I bought one from the same guy.

We have these and the vans in New Zealand being a farming country..we would disconnect the back brakes and just have front brakes only and would slam on the brakes and the whole rear of van would lift up 5ft in the air..with our mates flying around in the back seats or over the top of the cab if we had the trucks out

You made the right choice I have a Honda acty and a daihatsu hijet I don't even drive the Honda I love the hijet more comfortable to drive I use ATV rims on mine 4x110 bolt pattern the only on Road tire I found that work is accelerat 195/50 R14 I daily Drive mine mostly Highway 110 km an hour 12000km 6months no problems I recommend you replace the timing belt water pump front CV joint boots spark plug cap and rotor and wires

yeah mine has ac and it's a 4x4 but not a climber. To be dead honest, I have driven both and someone told me they do hook up better on like slick clay or a steep hill but they aren't true lockers and it's not on all four wheels just three. I got carlisle tires on mine and the traction is insane. I forwent a winch just because I can't see it getting into a situation with me where I'll get it stuck. Really light cars.

If the engine block is coded as EF, you have to bring in and swap it with EFDET 3 cyl 660 engine turbocharged
I own a daihatsu mira, swapped with EFDET, blown the head gasket, rebuild the engine, swapped with bigger piston (going from 68mm to 73mm) now basically the displacement goes from 659cc to 759cc after the bigger piston, hits full boost quicker, damn its a fun ride..
Paint your damn cars before buying another one, stop the carcaine !
