Dean Martin, without a doubt, an absolutely wonderful human being. One of the greatest pleasures in my life was meeting and talking to him in the early 60’s, at “Dino’s Lodge,” the restaurant that he owned, on the Sunset Strip. He was warm, extremely cordial and extremely intelligent. What an everlasting impression he made on me!!!!
We'll never see this level of talent in a television show again! By chance, I passed him on the stairwell at Beverly Hills Hotel. I was there to make a phone call & he was there for Deanna's wedding. The guards didn't separate me either. For a couple of seconds, I was less than 2 inches from one of the greatest artists of the century. And he did give the impression of being a nice man. Sinatra probably would've had the whole stairway cleared first. As far as Dino's is concerned, the restaurant retained the name long after he sold it. My best friend tarbended in there for several years & I saw a number of celebs but never Dino. At least u confirmed that he did go in there at one time, but I guess that was while he owned it.
My mother got me to loving Dean Martin when I was young, then I was 14 when we watched this on tv. I still love him, and my very favorite was when he sang “Welcome To My World”. Thank you for doing this.
I was over seas in the US Army at the time this was recorded so I really appreciate viewing it now. Dean was such an awesome performer. There will never be another Dean Martin. Rest in Peace.
I wouldn't say that my father made me watch The Dean Martin Show, but if you wanted to watch TV when it was on, THAT was what you were going to watch. Tonight was the first time I've seen this program in almost 50 years. It brought back a lot of memories, and it is still a very funny show, and will always be one of my favorites...😺
Dean Martin singing with Buck Owens is priceless. I remember watching these shows with my parents as a little kid. They made me laugh and the whole family felt good. They should make all these great shows available on dvd so everyone can watch them and to perserve an almost forgotten era of good old harmless t.v.,unlike the stupidity of today.
Name me one living person in 2023 that could perform at this level: sing this good, be this funny , dance and interview in such an entertaining way.Nobody can do now, what Dean Martin did back then. Nobody.
Dean was the greatest entertainer of the last century!!! No one came close across all entertainment media...TV, movies, recordings & live performances!
Am 70 now, watched all these shows back in the day, who didn’t love Dean's effortless singing and humor, Dean was so good at playing drunk, hope we get to see more shows or clips
Such beautiful, professional, intelligent and clean humour. I'm only 38 but I wish lived in that wonderful era when enjoying media was a privilege and not an avenue for filth that it is now.
Simply put Pure Genius and first class entertainment of the highest level, sleep warm Dino, we miss you. Dean Martin a class of his own, love his voice and his films, regardless of the genre
Dean Martin was a brilliant entertainer, a rare talent. His humor still holds up, and he didn’t need foul language and disgusting subject matter to be popular. Dean also had a wonderful singing voice, rich and smooth.
One of my earliest memories is watching Dean's show. It was in black and white in Australia but the set looks just as I remembered it. Guess I was 3 years old but it stuck with me. Great to see it on here, cheers for posting.
They say that Dean never rehearsed his shows, that was the deal he made to do the weekly shows! He was the most naturally funny singer, actor, comedienne, interviewer and who couldn't love him! We will never have anyone like him again!

Before she passed she used to watch his show every day, and she had a wonderful life, so wonderful in fact, that I don't think I'd ever see someone smile with so much certainty. Dino and her grandchildren brought all the joy to her life she could possibly ask for in her long and fruitful life. Thanks Dean! what an incredible 50 mins entertainment! Orson Welles' Shylock is mesmerising, one of his best performances. The comic is the only weak segment of a fast-moving, beautifully designed and directed box of delights. Dean is, as always, superb in everything he does.
I was mid teens in Texas when this show aired at 9 pm on Thursday nights, I think. My mom and I loved watching this show together. A nice memory of my mom for me.
I was only 2 yrs old, but I'm sure I watched it then. I grew up w/ Dean Martin & will grow old watching him. He's still the coolest cat in my book! I've always lived him, but now I love him even more. He looks (looked) just like my Dad. They're both gone . They were both handsome, charismatic & funny. They both made funny faces. They both smoked cigarettes & blew smoke out their noses (for laughs). But my Dad didn't/ couldn't sing. Seeing these episodes of Dean Martin is the next best thing to seeing my Dad. I can watch them over & over without ever growing tired of them.... ❤

I could watch her all the time, even have a crush on her, but sadly, at 85 years old I have to be satisfied by watching her performances. Still keep them coming. As for DEAN, he was superb as usual.
Sure it's been posted before but @45:55 Dean says "Ahh, alas poor Yorick I knew him well". The way he says Yorick just sounds really Italian and he says it super fast. Took me playing at 0.75 speed to work it out!
dean martin.. has enough respect.. for his audience..... that he wears a dress shirt, suit, and a bowtie..... no entertainers have that much respect today...
Dean Martin was one of this singer’s, actors and entertainers that you can watch as a child ( wie Jerry Lewis ) and as father with own children’s. R.I.P. Dean Martin !!! You was a real talent not like this days STARS.
As usual another amazing episode of the Dean Martin Show. I loved the song Dean sung 'Thinking about the Things we used to do.' I think it really got to him because he called a stop to it and said that was enough. I wonder what about it bothered him so much. Maybe it just reminded him of Jerry and the things they used to do together, who knows? Also a wonderful performance from Orson Welles from the Merchant of Venice. It moved me to tears.
I sure miss those days they were so carefree and fun. There will never be a time like that again, the world has changed to much. I was a teenager with my whole life ahead of me and just didn't know how lucky I was.
Love that song “Things!” He’s a trip, man! 😁 I SO LOVE his VOICE! ♥️♥️♥️ Love Joey Heatherton! Nitram! 😂😂😂 I’m from Massachusetts! 😂😂 😂 ”Alas poor Yorick I knew him...”- Dean doin’ Shakespeare! This really was hilarious! He had great guests & what a ball he had with all of them! Omg he does so crack me up! 😂 I♥️Dean!
What is so impressive about Dean: He seems to just go from singing to comedy effortlessly! He can turn on a dime, that's something very few performers could do. These were the days of Red Skelton, Carol Burnette, Rowan and Martin's Laugh In, Lawrence Welk, and many other variety shows. Dean made this show such a pleasure to watch. And make no mistake Dean could do drama too. Watch him in The Young Lions. He had to share screen time with Montgomery Clift and held his own. Also, he did Rio Bravo with John Wayne, who could blow many actors off the screen too. They had great chemistry and Wayne really liked working with Dean. Such a Giant in the industry, he really was one of a kind.
I wish Dean had written his own biography. I find him so hard to read at times. It would have been nice to know what he actually thought about some things.
From what I understand that was his biggest problems he didn't believe in opening up about his life. I am like you I would love to know his side of his life. It just see he was a very private guy, that is how he liked it. May he rest in peace
I finally order the book his daughter wrote about her dad and her family. I picked it up today and read about 88 pages today. I couldn't put it down. I have laughed and cry a little cause it is a honest look at Dean and his family, and his career. It made me love him and his family even more cause they share him with all of us even now.
