    You’ll need a drill, buffing pad, coconut oil, fine grain sea salt, baking soda, vinegar and a whole lotta patience !

    It may appear that the scratches are "gone" but that just probably from the oil filling the scratch and making it seem flat. The only tried and true method is wet dry sand paper ranging from 3000 to 7000 grit, and then finishing with cerium oxide.

      thx makes sense. What micron cerium oxide would you use after pls?

    It works!! Just put tapes around the silicone also, so you will not spin away the silicone that holds the tank!

    The only reason why it would make the scratches disappear is because of the oil, in other words they are still there. You need to sand with sand paper 3000 and work your way up to 7000. You can start with 1000 grit if scratches are deep and just water will be fine to sand.

    Is there an underwater attachment for cordless drills? That would make quick work of stubborn green spot algae!

    • @AquazoneQC
      @AquazoneQC  6 років тому

      I imagine so ! Or maybe a way to put the drill in a water proof casing for those jobs that require underwater power tools ! Bets research that !

    I got an old 55 gallon tank with glass as thick as this. I noticed you went with no trim. Is the silicone strong enough to hold this tank full of water? I do want to remove the trim.

      did you really ask that question,? thats like asking the manufacturer of the fish tank, if the silicone rubber will mess up the ph,,
      how about this,, wash the tank with fresh water,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    • @MrsShocoTaco
      @MrsShocoTaco 4 роки тому +1

      Any chemical used on a tank has the ability to murder your fish if not properly washed after use. Any time you have to work on your tank, clean it afterward until you're 100% certain you could, safely, feed a newborn off it. Then it's almost clean enough for your little buddies. Only clean that well when you've had to do some kind of work on it with chemicals or anything that would leave a residue like sanding. Otherwise you'll kill all the good bacteria that keep our most precious obsessions healthy & happy.

    Need a video about how to actually remove scratches not just making the scratches smaller. Also wondering how this would have worked if you had baking soda to mix with that vinegar. Are you supposed to start buffing while the two are reacting and making the uncontrollable froth or wait until they have neutralized each other?

    • @AquazoneQC
      @AquazoneQC  4 роки тому

      Serum oxide will probably remove starches better, check in the automotive repair department. But if as me you don't find, u will just buff them out with this mixture to make less visible. I used mixture withing 5 minutes of making it
