Young people can't imagine how crazy cut scenes were in the 90's. This was crazy cutting edge stuff at the time. It was still running off a CD and playing on a 486 or early Pentium on a 14'' or 15'' monitor. Westwood was an awesome studio before EA destroyed them, as they tend to do with innovative studios they feel threatened by. At this time Westwood was ahead of Blizzard in the RTS genre. This was better then Warcraft and invented a lot of RTS stuff.

I guess that was actually a mistake EA did. They should've controlled them a bit more. Again: CnC Renegade and especially Earth & Beyond completely bombed and costed EA a hell of a lot of money

EA started as a studio and then turned in to a big corp/publisher because of quality products they provided. They shifted from developing cool game to present games as being cool, while all the core staff which was actually you know - DEVELOPING said games left through years for various reasons.
After that they only did what all other impotent big corps do - buying smaller successful studios and strangle them to death with idiotic demands and insane deadlines.
If you were not so fucking arrogant you would just made a silver of research and looked up just HOW FUCKING MUCH studios, good studious with cool titles were closed after EA bought them.
EA and Acti/Blizz and others are just leeches, they don't produce anything else.
1. Studio X does a cool game.
2. EA buys a studio X.
3. EA forces it's policies and dog-managers who know shit about player base to do idiotic things in a videogame.
4. Studio X manages to keep the title float because of previous rep for a few years while EA makes profit on naive fandom.
5. Shitton of developers leave Studio X because of headbutting with EA management which meddles with actual game development.
6. Studio X fails because there are no core-crew anymore.
7. EA shuts down the studio X.
8. Morons who know nothing blame Studio X for failure because EA is good with bullshitting naive fools.
On top of that EA is prone to think that if a studio in question does amazing RPG or FPS or whatever one genre vgames then said studio will prevail in something entirely else. Guess what? It does not work that way.
You don't know anything, Snow. Watch some devs podcasts or some shit who left big studios like Blizzard for example to even get the idea.

Very nice compilation. I only noticed 2 missing scenes, ironically from the same mission, which was mission 10 Weathered Alliance, the vanilla soviet campaign. In this mission, Yuri has a cutscene informing the commander about the new naval unit, the giant squid, and also if you wait a little after the infiltration of the battle lab, Zofia will inform you that they were mistaken, the weather device is functioning and warns the player about the danger.
bit late this but there where more scenes missing, the small reactions from yuri in the final basegame soviet mission against him when you build certain units and buildings

I played this game as a kid in the early 2000s.
After watching this cutscenes after two decades, I installed Red Alert 2 Yuris Revenge again, downloaded Mental Omega Mod, too and playing a even better version now with my good old friends.
I love the fact that you did not only put the cinematic cutscenes together, but also the in-game transmissions too.

It's on Origins. I bought the set but it's crap because you have to change the resolution on your computer to play it. Too much of a hassle to download too. You have to download Origins and then each individual games. Takes up a huge chunk of memory on my computer so I got rid of it. $20 bucks wasted.

I still to this day always go back to these cut scenes. I love that they decided to lean into the stereotypes some, have cute women, and love that the Generals and Scientists are caricature of them selves or real world generals. Who knows, maybe it's a really good imitation?
In my opinion these cutscenes had a quality over all the aspects, superior than the ones of Red Alert 3.
