    I have a 21 bronco sport with the 1.5L 3cyl. 50k miles still runs amazing zero issues and put it on sports mode and surprisingly a powerful engine. Have no trouble over taking anyone on the road. Driven on many long trips and even light off road. Reliable so far time will tell.

      Just keep an eye on it. It's not too bad of an engine. Just not a preferred one. Some of them do fine. Others not so much.

    Thanks for the video. Wife was looking at the Bronco Sport for 4WD since jeep got rid of the Cherokee. Now she is leaning towards the CX-30 and just deal with lower capabilities of AWD. I think you just saved us tons of headache! Nice to hear that you have not seen the intrusion on the 7.3. My top contender for a 2025/26 F-550. Thanks.

    it would seem the automakers are leaning their entry level models to a disposable level.so the average consumer drives them to a milage point where there not repaired when broken, but disposed of & buy another.not saying its fact, but is looking that way more every year.thanks man.

I noticed while he was home, so I keeper it to swap plugs and so on. He said it’s still doing it but it only bumps up a few hundred rps but it just about won’t settle and hold. doesn't the 2.7 also have the wet belt oil pump? Just bought a BSOBX with the 1.5, the higher trim was significantly more, wish I could just upgrade the engine. That being said it does get really good fuel economy, aside from oil changes will anything else prevent the belt from having issues? Is it a costly maintenance item at say 75k?

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  13 днів тому +1

      @tomd815 it's a costly maintenance item. And doing it at 75k is perfect. Thats earlier thsn the 150k they recommend. Better to be on top of it. The 2.7 had a chain then went to belt. I think it went back to chain. I did a video on it a while ago. Nothing is going to prevent the belt from having issues. Just use a good quality synthetic and keep it maintained.

      @@BeardedFordTech thanks! I am relieved to hear it confirmed that there is a timing chain in there since most online resources said belt but I couldn't find a service interval in the manual. I'm planning to do 5k mile changes no matter what the computer says and 30k on the trans since I had a 6F35 fail in my Escape and I hear its nearly the same trans. I hate that I can't just choose the larger engine on any trim level like you could when these first came out. They give you 20 different trims for every other vehile, but Bronco Sport you have to go up to highest trim to get better engine. Silly Ford.

      @BrianS_IN my ranger has a 2.3L. Love that engine. No problems. The transmission no bad. That was in f150's and mustangs. Don't know why the ranger didn't have the problem. Very rarely ever saw them with transmission issues. Mine still going strong. Just keep the fluid and filter changed around every 50k miles.

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  2 місяці тому +3

  • @brianskinner4328

    Does it have coolant intrusion like the 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 engines on escape,fusion,etc.?

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  5 місяців тому +1

      No. And the 1.6 wasn't involved in the coolant intrusion. Only 1.5 and 2.0. But. That 2.0 has been redesigned.

    • @brianskinner4328
      @brianskinner4328 5 місяців тому +1

      @BeardedFordTech I'm kinda wondering about the 7.3 gasser if the coolant intrusion will happen. I believe I saw those slits between cylinders. Hopefully, they don't copy that error

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  5 місяців тому +1

      @brianskinner4328 haven't come across it on the 7.3 gasser. Just lifter failure (mainly box trucks) not fond of the slit for the water jacket. However the 1.5 and 2.0 didn't have that. It was just very weak and cause it to leak. Just the way they cut the cylinders. And the 1.5 in the bronco is a 3 cylinder. The one in the fusion. Was a 4 cylinder.

    • @trenton737

    • @BeardedFordTech
      @BeardedFordTech  4 місяці тому +1

      @trenton737 yes they have had issues with it. But it wasn't involved in the recall at the time like the 1.5 and 2.0. The 1.6 started later. I personally never had dealt with a 1.6 intrusion issue. I don't think it was as widespread as the other two. But yes they did have them. I believe all that has been resolved with these new design ones. I haven't come across any yet (not saying it won't happen)

      I haven't personally messed with the 8 speed. I have a few vehicles at work with they are brand new haven't had to do anything to them yet. 20k km is very very early to be changing fluid. Thays like every 12k miles. I recommend every 35-40k miles to stay on top of it. Nothing wrong with what your doing. Just seems a little early. Thats awesome there are no tsb for it over there.
