That would be perfect for me! I always do pour overs for my morning coffee and that would eliminate a lot of hassle. According to the manual, you first hold the unlock button down for 3 seconds, and the kettle will emit 3 long beeps, which puts it in a mode where it just beeps, instead of playing music. To put it in silent mode, you hold the unlock button down for 3 more seconds, the kettle will emit 1 long beep, and that will put it in silent mode. I hope this helps!

Nonstick coatings are perfectly safe in this application. I’ve looked into this for hours when I was considering replacing all my nonstick with ceramic for health.
The only way nonstick is dangerous is if you heat an empty pan to ripping hot - it will start smoking and the smoke is toxic. With anything in the pan it will not reach those temperatures.

I've never had this issue. You'll need to run the cleaning cycle with citric acid to take care of that. Minerals will build up in the kettle over time that will need to be cleaned out. Also, standing water that's not heated can get funky over time, but I just dump it and dry it out as needed. Hope you can get it taken care of!
