    Thanks so much for your in-depth review. We bought ours this week (the VE hybrid model) and I can't imagine our lives without it. We were initially concerned with the energy consumption (so your video helped a lot!) - so far, we're really impressed with the energy-saving vacuum feature - seems so much greener than us boiling a kettle 10x a day!

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  2 роки тому +1

      Glad it helped! Been convincing a family member to get one considering they boil water from a kettle on the stovetop every single day.
      How can you tell the vaccuum is working? My sister actually has the VE model as well
      What do you use yours most? And have you discovered new uses for it?
      I remember doing the calculation for mine which is a non VE model, hydroelectricity is cheap where I live, I had found some information regarding power usage on reddit so I'm not sure about the accuracy, and it came out to a few bucks a month. Either way, I can't imagine a machine boiling then just having minimum heat VS boiling room temp or even cold water several times a week use up MORE energy, logically speaking.

    Aesthetically the one in your video looks nicer than any of the other Zojirushi boilers I've seen and in your links. I've always avoided buying one because they look subjectively ugly to me, and haven't been updated in the last 20+ years. I would definitely buy the one in your video if they still had it.

    We just bought the 5 liter size because we are a family of 6 teen/adults. We use it to boil for cooking to as I use butane to cook( it gets hottest😈) and this will save me tons of money as butane is super expensive. I also have the 10 cup Japanese rice cooker from this brand. I love it. I’ve used electric kettles for years. So excited to have this new one.

    Hey Jess, working on any new coffee vids? I actually got rid of my ECM Synchronika, and thinking of getting the Lelit Bianca. The Synchronika was a tank, but extremely heavy, hard to move around and tall. I'm looking to get the Bianca as it ticks all the boxes, with a smaller profile. I know the build quality is not as good as ECM/Profitec

      I have other coffee content in the works, some vlogs, some reviews but I buy all my products myself so I can't exactly be buying coffee machines left and right lol I ain't that rich, so unless someone is gifting me one, I won't have any coffee machines to review any time soon.
      Listen, if you know someone who wants to gift me a coffee machine, by all means!
      Though I'm planning on having some sort of membership program like James Hoffman where I would be able to have the resources to review products members would vote on - but that's at a later time.

    I’m pretty sure they did magnetic plugs before Apple did!

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  2 роки тому

      LOL honestly, probably, I've had one of those things as a child before Apple products had any magnetic cables to my knowledge and the Zojirushi definitely did have the magnetic cable, to be fair, iPhone did a lot and advanced tech a lot but they also just have phases where nothing is innovative and they just make it seem like everything is a big deal when many others before them have done it, even just comparing iOS to android, but borrowing an element like that from one product to another is still innovative because nobody else did it so I'll give them that

    We used to have it at our home when I was little. Loved it so much ‘cause you had a hot tea all the time. And I am not Asian) This thing was common in Siberia - Russia. Hey Jess!
    It takes 20 MIN to boil 2 litres? 😳

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  3 роки тому

      that's not abnormal. Have you tried to boil 2.2L of water on a stovetop? It's not instant....
      Best part with this is you don't have to stand there or manage anything.
      Set, forget.
      The point is not to boil the water on demand when you need it, but to have it already hot when you need it.
      FYI: "1L of tap water takes 6-8 minutes on a gas stove, takes 9-12 minutes on an electric stove"

  • @rinky_dinky
    @rinky_dinky 2 роки тому

    if you want speed , a 1.2L electric kettle is a lot faster

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  2 роки тому +3

      it's faster to heat up to boiling sure, but you have to do that every single time. It's a different product and need and a different budget and target market. Where the Zojirushi wins, and is the point, is that you get hot water whenever you want INSTANTLY (after it's been boiled). Different needs, different target market. Which one is "better" will depend on your needs and what your priorities are and what you're willing to sacrifice (budget, space, etc.). Personally, my time and convenience are high priorities. This fits the bill.

      Interesting, I personally have never had this problem, neither has anyone in my family, I didn't watch the entire video but fast forwarded to see visually the rust issue. I'm not sure what happened there or if it was a manufacture defect, the only "rust" issues I had was due to low water and that was my own fault because I never realized that the icon was the low water refill line. Mine is a cleaner design aesthetic and it's clear on all other Zojirushi machines that's the low water level - need to refill, I do mention this in the video.
