    I tried this and the mineral deposits did not go away. Can I use less water and increase the amount of citric acid I use to increase the concentration?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  2 роки тому

      If you still have a lot of mineral deposits left even after performing a cleaning cycle, then you will need to repeat the cleaning a few times. It's not recommended to increase the amount of citric acid used.
      However, if it's really hard to remove you may try doing the following: use one cup of lemon juice from a bottle (not fresh), pour it into the water boiler and then fill it up with water up to the max line. Then, start a cleaning cycle and once that is done set the water boiler to keep warm at 195 and leave it over night with the solution. The next morning, turn off the water boiler and let the solution cool off before disposing of it. This should help get rid of the minerals but if you still have some left over, it will most likely need you to repeat the cleaning again.
      To prevent excess accumulation of minerals we recommend to perform a citric acid cleaning at least once every 3 months or more often if you have had water with high mineral content. If you have any questions, please reach out to our customer support team and they will be happy to assist you: www.zojirushi.com/app/customer_service/entry

    I didn't know I had to clean the boiler and had it for almost a year. I just realised that even after using the citric acid there's still some red rust . My boiler has cleaning mode but if the red rust doesn't come up after using 1 sachet in cleaning mode should I add two sachet instead or should I just add one sachet + use cleaning mode then leave it over night?

    I plugged the power cord into the outlet this morning. The control panel was not on. It just linked for a while then completely off. Is that a power cord/appliance plug out of order/burnst? Where should I buy the replace power cord?

    My boiler become black inside how to clean it

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  5 місяців тому

      We recommend descaling the water boiler with citric acid every 1 -3 months. It will all depend on the mineral content of your water. Normally, mineral content can look white or orange but if you are seeing black colored minerals then it's something that it's in the water being used. We would recommend descaling it with citric acid as instructed in the manual to get rid of all the minerals and maybe descale it more often. I hope this helps!

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  2 роки тому

      We don't recommend turning the water boiler on while it is empty. This will trigger the auto-shut off and show the code HH on the screen letting you know it overheated and turned off. If the water boiler no longer responds while it is plugged in then please reach out to our Customer Service Team by calling 1-800-733-6270 M-F 8am-5pm PST or email support@zojirushi.com

    My Zojirushi CV-DSC40 has built up a lot of reddish rust like deposits after two years of light use. I've tried using this citric acid cleaner now for 3 cycles but still get red discoloration on a paper towel while wiping the inside of the boiler. Any ideas on how to clean it?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  7 років тому +4

      Hi Yenting, our descaling cleaner is ideal for hard mineral deposits, but you are describing iron deposits. We would recommend using a soft cloth or sponge and a little toothpaste to buff off the red spots.

      Hi Jimmy, it depends on the model number and capacity of your water boiler. Using as an example the CD-LFC, the 3.0 liter takes approximately 28 minutes, the 4.0 liter approximately 35 minutes, and the 5.0 liter approximately 45 minutes. For details on your model, please refer to the product instruction manual: bit.ly/2gEFXa2

    I have a CD-LCC40 and after cleaning and moving it around to get the water and mineral deposit out inside the motor and tubes, I accidentally got water into the LCD area. The water is gone in the LCD area now but when I plug it in, it showed an error code of E3 after a minute. I would put it on the side with no water, plug it back in, and after a minute the E3 error came back. This back and forth happened multiple times. Should I wait longer for the water inside to completely evaporate? Or you can help me with another idea? Thanks in advance.

      Thanks for the reply.
      I have one complaint on the design. After I took it apart, I saw what looks like a valve/chamber type directly under the "Dispense" and "unlock" buttons. There were significant amount of calcium build up in that chamber.
      Point is, there is no real indication of how serious is the build up and no idea when is the best time to perform cleaning. During cleaning, I had no idea whether the removal of the build up was effective or not.
      In the future, I still have no way of knowing if the build up was indeed clear - despite I got it all out this time.
      Will try you customer service but I would highly recommend that you take this up with people above and change the design (of which I have to assume there was a valid reason for that "chamber" to be positioned there just before the dispensing point).

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  7 років тому

      Thank you for your comment! While we recommend customers regularly perform citric acid cleaning, it's really difficult to gauge how much calcium build-up there may be, as this differs greatly depending on the water used. In our experience there usually isn't too much calcium in the spout area, as water is not designed to pool there. However, we will pass it on to our R&D department.

    • @RogerTing
      @RogerTing 7 років тому

      Well, that "chamber", if you ask me, doesn't take a whole lot to be choked / clogged up. Just today, I am noticing water not coming out smoothly AGAIN and it is not too long ago since I restore normal water flow.

    It would be helpful to tell us where the gasket is pulled out from.. seesh

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  8 років тому

      Julia, the gasket is located on the detachable lid assembly, and its function is to seal the lid to the body. If you need to purchase replacement parts, you can visit our online spare parts store at: zojirushi.com/app/spare_parts/category/electric-boilers-warmers

    • @julial3758
      @julial3758 8 років тому

      oK thx, Mine is still brand spanking new. Just trying to figure out what I need to do in advance. I saw a video where someone took apart the lid and the plastic pieces are melting down broken and falling off.. is this something normal that I should be aware of? Do we need to change the entire lid if this occurs? ISn't this harmful to our bodies to drink melting plastic

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  8 років тому

      The lid assembly is an expendable part that will eventually need to be replaced, due to the effects of high heat and steam over time. The plastics are BPA-free and non-toxic.

      Where to get a lid replacement and how much does it cost? I'm not sure why the bottom is rusting also @0:18 mine is not calcium build up but a bit of rust, do i just clean it with same way with the citrus stuff?

      Iron deposits (rust) that accumulate in the water boiler interior can be buffed away with toothpaste and a soft cloth or sponge. For water boiler spare parts, please visit: zojirushi.com/app/spare_parts/category/electric-boilers-warmers

      tuan16582 there is a very small spinner at the bottom of the pot,need screw driver to open it n strip another 2 small screws that hold the spinner, clean the calcium buildup n it should dispense again.

    How s there bits of plastic falling into my water? What the fuck?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  7 років тому

      Hi David, the rubber gasket on the lid is an expendable part that will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. If the gasket starts to dry out or get brittle or cracked, it can cause steam to enter the lid assembly, and at some point the lid assembly will become damaged and may begin to deteriorate. Our customer service team will be happy to assist you with determining which parts your water boiler needs. Please give them a call Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM PST by dialing 800-733-6270, and pressing 1 to speak to a representative.
