Matt you are too good to us, you have put out countless videos to help me as a new angler. Thanks to Bridgford for sponsoring you and the monthly tip. I’m definitely picking up some jerky for kayak fishing snacks.
In Australia we don't use tube jig's ( not that i have come across - in trout fishing ) but I have used your method with hidden TT jig heads - WOW - trout love the 4" - ( would like to have a 3" version ) - ingenious - well done .
Great Tip! Have to try that. In the past I have usually cut the head off the bait and then butt it up to the jig head. Looks better but still super nose heavy.
What a great tip. I always thought they were a bottom bait. I'm going to rig some up now. I caught about a 2.5lbr on my new Agent E yesterday. After tossing a jig around for 40 min I went to the E and got bit on about 4th cast. Felt like it got hit by a truck.
Ill definitely give this a try. I have couple packs of hollow belly still I do alot swimbait fishing past few years. I fish alot 6" magdrafts & 8" more recently. I pull harnesses out of them & rigg the 8's like a freestyle. Then u can fish through alot more cover & bunch bottom. I've caught all my pbs on swimbaits, largemouth, spot & striper. Thanks for sharing!
Clicked on the video because I immediately noticed no jig head and was intrigued. I’ve always felt the same way! Wanted to know what hook you were using. Brilliant.
Hey this was great! I used your technique on a 4 inch Largo Shad. I could not believe the action, it vibrates like a Chatterbait. Got a couple of nibbles but, no bites. Thanks
Great minds…I cut a very small slit in the back where the hook comes out and cram it in lol. Either way it is a dynamite rigging. It also puts a lot of bait in front of the hook eye and it snags less on hard cover.
Blade Runner makes a weighted insert for hollow bodies. Make a slit in the top where your hook will come out then run the eye through just like a tube jig. Has a wire to prevent the bait from slipping and a ring to attach a blade if you want
Strike King actually makes a jig head specifically for this exact technique. It has a flat piece of lead with a 60 degree line tie. You would do exactly this, slit the belly and slide the flat lead head inside the bait and push the eye of the hook through the top of the plastic. It’s called an internal swimbait head. Killer tip with the tube jig head non the least!
That’s such a great tip Matt, I recently put a spark Shad on a Dirty Jigs Matt Allen swimbait jig head and of course it had 4 eyes, I thought it looked goofy at best, but then I caught a 4.2 largemouth. I’m definitely using your tip on hollow bodies 😜💯👍✊🎣🍀 Good Luck in your next ProCircuit Event, I love watching the LiveStream👏👏👏
Great video. I just re-watched the video with the 8" Basstrix where you used what I think was an Owner keel weighted 8/0 hook not this tube Jig idea. Do you only use the tube jig for smaller hollow swimbaits? What size do you switch from one to the other? Also, what weight do you prefer for this method.
Matt you are too good to us, you have put out countless videos to help me as a new angler. Thanks to Bridgford for sponsoring you and the monthly tip. I’m definitely picking up some jerky for kayak fishing snacks.
Awesome! Please support Bridgford they are an amazing company!
If you’ve never tried their monkey bread, you’re really missing out!
I picked up the sweet teriyaki jerky, was Great, I'll have to try that monkey bread!
Gotta be the best UA-cam lure rigging tip I've ever seen. That is ingenious!
Wow, thanks!
Now that’s a damn good tips n I been fishing 40 years, and haven’t seen that one yet. I’ll try that on these Pickwick fish 😁👍
good luck!
Great tip I will definitely be rigging my swimbaits like that for now on. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge
thanks for watching!
Thanks Matt! Really didn't want to waste money on those internal jigs. Got plenty of tube jigs. Great tip!
Awesome!
I have never fished a hollow body because of popularity now I’ll renew that bait thanks for that insight of the mouth
good luck!

Awesome Tip!!!!👊🏻 That's one of the best ways I've seen to rig that hollow belly and make it look natural!!👍🏻 Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
it works so good!
Good LORD MAN!! That one is GOLDEN. Thanks Matt:-) You just saved me a pile of plastic swim baits.
Look out All American Trash Fish! We’re trying this one tonight 🐳
thanks!
Brilliant idea! Thanks Matt!! Does this work better with certain length swimbaits - eg, 4-5” paddle tails? Or does it work fine with the bigger ones?
works great with the bigger ones as well.
Great Tip! Have to try that. In the past I have usually cut the head off the bait and then butt it up to the jig head. Looks better but still super nose heavy.
yep
Matt I had some strike king squadron swim head jigs and rigged them up on a shadaliscious bait .Worked great can't wait to fish em thanks again Matt
Good to hear!
Now, THAT'S thinking!! You're an Einstein of fishing! The light just came-on for me and I'll be using more of these "ignored" baits. Good call, Matt.
Awesome! give it a try!
Absolutely makes perfect sense. I guarantee I will be using that technique this month. Thanks for sharing
Nice!
This makes so much sense! Headed to TW to upgrade my swimbaits.

This is awesome. I have tube jigs that are relatively useless for me until now! All I need is hollow body swims. Will look for those Berkley's.
nice! Link is in the video description. check them out!
Thanks Matt! Another tip in my arsenal. I too have always thought "two eyes" looked weird.
Happy to help!
Genius!!! So glad I have found your channel!!!
Welcome!!
Clicked on the video because I immediately noticed no jig head and was intrigued. I’ve always felt the same way! Wanted to know what hook you were using. Brilliant.
thanks for watching!

thanks!
Out of all you tube yours is my favorite ty

Great tip, I love throwing small swim bates like the 2” Keitech easy shiner on a 1/32oz. Jig head but I can’t wait to try yours.

@@MattStefanFishing What is the smallest size does Berkley swim baits come in?
Now that's a clever rigging hack. Thanks Matt!!!

Terrific tip, Matt! That one is a true gem.

Awesome, thank you!
Awesome gift on this one! Thanks
You bet!
Great idea for that. Will be trying this.
Great!
I survive off Bridgeford summer sausage and crackers. Eat it everyday. I always cut the back when I rig like that instead of the belly.
thanks for sharing
Those fuision19 tube hooks are awesome. I almost exclusively use those for everything.
Sooo sharp!
@@MattStefanFishing are they nano coated?
Excellent tip! Getting into big swimbaits but have never thrown any sized hollow belly
they make some big ones!
Wow what an awesome and great tip. Definitely going to use this for sure!!
thanks for watching!
Thanks Matt. Awesome info as usual. Could you please do a video on reel/rod maintenance?
its on my list i just havent gotten to it yet. but i appreciate the suggestion!
🤔🤔🤔 wondering why I hadn't thought of this after all the tubes I have rigged 🤦♂️ Great idea anyway and I will definitely try it out!
Go for it!
Great minds…I cut a very small slit in the back where the hook comes out and cram it in lol. Either way it is a dynamite rigging. It also puts a lot of bait in front of the hook eye and it snags less on hard cover.
I use a 90 degree hook though, will try the 45 flat eye
thanks for sharing!
Matt, that is awesome. Because I am terrible at getting those rigged correctly to have the necessary action.
Good luck!

ill check it out
I like it. I'll buy those Storm swimbaits, but it's considerably more expensive then buying a pack of hollow bellies and some tube jigheads. Nice tip.
thanks!
Why didn't I think about this? Honest to goodness a great idea!
thanks!
This is a home run tip, ingenious, I'm like you on using a swim head looks unnatural, going to give it try 👍

This is an absolutely incredible tip, I can’t believe you are sharing this one!!!
that was a 3/8 oz tube head in a 5 inch bait
@@MattStefanFishing thanks!
If I use jig heads with head already on, I cut off the eyes of swim bait, and rig it that way, tube jigs are great advice, thanx..
sounds good!
Similar idea to the Nomad fly fishing lures, with its gold bead weight half way along the long shank hook
Thanks for sharing
That's the best tip yet. Thanks so much.

Done that with a swim bait head never thought about a tube head sounds like a good idea
give it a try! There are a few other specialty hooks that works as well but the tube jigs are really easy and available in lots of places
Thanks. That’s cool! Never crossed my mind to rig like that.
give it a try!

That is so cool. A tube hook for a swimbait. I gotta try that Matt. Thanks man. ✌️🎣
You got it!

I will use both, but if i can fish an exposed hook i go with the tube jig idea. wight and lize depends on the conditions
Awesome tip! Will the new Core Tackle Tush replace the tube jig in your hollow body swimbait rigging, now?
yep!
