The hover rig is an amazing fish catching tool! I'm constantly finding new ways to use it! It's way more versatile than you might think! I recently just did another video on some of the different ways I'm using the hover rig.
Thanks for showing us the hover rig, I have caught a lot of bass on it. I also went to your Core store on got the hooks for the rig. I'm always trying new fineness techniques, again thanks for sharing the hover rig, it works!
That’s why I got mine wen you first put them out I knew that this design was a hit and It’s great for fishing with kids and I’m going to get a bunch more to keep in my tackle box thanks man 👍
Hey Matt I just bought some from tw and the way this bait glides through the water colom like a dying bait fish. I went to a dock in Missouri where I usually don't get bit right away. And my first cast I got a chunky small mouth. And because the bait doesn't land in the same place every time and it glides the bass won't get conditioned to the hover rigs. Thanks for the great jigheads. And God bless you and your family.
Got 2 packs of the TUSH swimbait heads coming, super excited to use them. Hoping to get my hover rigs out soon as well! Thanks for making innovative tackle Matt and Johnny
I'll order some more from tackle warehouse this time. been getting them from taps and tackle. looks like my tush and and my hat come in the mail today. can't wait. thanks Matt.
They do work very well. I have some of the tush hooks in all three sizes set to be delivered tomorrow according to the tracking. I am so excited for those. As I love fishing swimbaits. But I was never a fan of what I consider big ugly heads. I hope you guys keep coming up with revolutionary tackle! You guys definitely deserve the recognition for it and I think you will get it once the industry takes notice. because you guys are changing the way that very popular techniques are rigged and fish
I purchased the Hover Rig and the TUSH directly from Core Tackle. Apologies. Would love to see y'all become a fixture in the bass angling culture (and any other species). Will definitely make future purchases from T.W. 12:21
I think it works great! I retrieved it by just reeling letting it sink and repeat. I also used the switch pause method in real shallow water. In an hour of fishing I caught giant bluegill, nice crappie and a bunch of largemouth. Hover right is definitely one of my go to finesse methods.
I was catching them with the 1/8 oz hover rig with a blue flack Berkley hit worm in my pond yesterday. caught 3 bass and 2 bluegills in less than 10 minutes with it. probably could have caught more but I broke off when I got it hung up. only toke the one with me and didn't want to walk back and get another.
I’ve placed all my Hover Rig orders through Core Tackle thinking you would benefit most that way, but I will definitely order more today using your link, because I have also been giving them to guys I fish with in my club’s tournaments ( I fish in 2 clubs) it’s another way I try to give back to guys in my club and I have even given a few to kids fishing around the boat ramp docks with them rigged with a ZMAN TrickShot or the Yamamoto Shad Shaped floaters😉 congratulations and continued success 🍀🎣🍀
I don’t think you should apologize for preaching about the company and the products. Most of us are here watching because we are excited to watch you and Johnny succeed and half the time we like to hear it!
I wrecked them on this day yesterday I used a little 3 inch pit Boss and used it like a shaky Head and swam it and hopped it and I literally used the same day all day.. well for about 15 fish which is really good
Matt interesting. I'm from Missouri the show me State. Have to give them a try. I have gotten lots of different baits without much luck. Thanks for sharing 👍
I'm really looking forward to mine showing up. I love fishing a fluke, and am looking forward to the hover set up. Gonna unleash it in my next yak derby.
Lots of success on this rig but I miss a lot of bites and have had many throw the hook on this rig. Do you have any recommendations on the hook set? What non custom built rod would you suggest? Can you also design a different weed guard, maybe out of flouro? Thanks.
I haven't lost a single one since I got my original order of four packs . But for the cause I'm going to get some more and give them out to my friends. I work for the Amish and take the kids out fishing with me when I can. My tackle is getting thin (they love ned rigs for the small mouth now😂) and I think it time to expose them to the hover rig!
I did my part to help, god knows I have plenty, but really, can you ever have enough tackle? Good luck, hope you make it to top seller. It’s a tough job buying tackle to help, but hey, someone’s gotta do it. Signed: Ron Peek. Not Mary, I lost her in a wreck about 3 years prior. She would want me to do this, you seem like a pretty good guy from me watching your videos. I don’t know how to change her name to mine.
How does it do with a soft jerkbait plastic as far as line twist goes? If I could get away from swivels/line twist for soft jerkbait texas rigs I'm sold.
The thing about core tackle hover rig is a oKay, but I prefer the traditional way, the you don’t have 1/64oz or 1/16oz weight, I like my bait hover a bit longer like suspended while the bait stroll across the water hence the name “hover stroll” not sinking down as you move the bait, this rig sink too fast for my taste so for that it’s not going to be for me, I’ll just stick to the traditional rigging method
What’s the least water clarity these work well in? If they work in 2 foot visibility is it due to choosing darher, more flaping or more disturbance in the water column? Or do others just out preform the hover rig in dirtier, noisy conditions?
🍺Points are updated and posted. You need to finish/place ahead of Grae Buck or Joshua Weaver or Jim Moynagh or place with in 77 places of Marshall Robinson and Nick Hatfield who are tied. If you would rather control your own destiny you need a 75th place finish at LaCrosse to seal your ticket to the BPT.🤑
@MattStefanFishing I tried it, and went back to straight fluoro...I think I just didn't like the sound it made, and the knot coming through the guides, but been thinking about switching back for better casting distance.
Just so you know ,those Pike are probably the best tasting fish out there. So many people that have eaten them will tell you they are obviously a pain to clean with those Y bones and the slime.
Once I asked my partner if he wanted to "crash a dock". He cut me a look as I skipped my shakey head under it and BOOM! Next thing you know, we were crashing that dock to yank a 6.5 out from under it. 8lb AbrazX and a dock. Good times. 😁
Every single person probably knows this but just in case, When mosquitoes and gnats are making it impossible to fish, take a couple of new dryer sheets. Wipe them all over your exposed skin. Face, neck, arms, legs, paying special attention to the ankles. Then grab two new dryer sheets and wipe them on your forehead vigorously. Then fold the sheets you wiped your face and forehead down and fit them into the inner sweat band of a ball cap of your choice. As long as its the BRAVES ! I even put a couple in my socks! Believe me when I say this. Mosquitoes absolutely make my outdoor life MISERABLE! Hard to keep a bait wet while scratching your ankles with a 2 prong electrical cord 😊.
I'd love to help, but I don't use Tacklewarehouse anymore (credit card breach still continues with them) they completely do not care from all my experiences..... #CoreTackle

The rhythm wave is is one of the best swimbaits to use for a flashy swimmer.. they're tough but not too tough
awesome! ill give them a try!
Tackle Warehouse order placed! Excited for this technique
Good luck!
I'm ordering a couple packs of the Core Tackle hover rig on Thursday 👍.
Awesome!
I have been fishing it with a Zoom Fluke and I have had some of the hardest strikes that I have ever had.
awesome!
Nice hammer handle at the end!
Picked myself up a few of the hover rigs, bass opens next week here, I know what I’ll have tied on!
good luck!

Matt interesting. I'm from Missouri the show me State. Have to give them a try. I have gotten lots of different baits without much luck. Thanks for sharing 👍

That Jackall bait is also great on a small chatterbait.
ill give it a try!

Matt, I'm waiting for my order! What I really want to know is how do you clean and prepare Pike please
Could be a good video
Glad to hear the Wisconsin State bird is finally making a reappearance. 😂😂 the mosquitos up there can be savage sometimes for sure
the mosquitos are mean here right now
Good video, thanks for the tips
You bet
I going to pick up some of them

Love it man! I’m all in
Awesome! Thank you!
Yamamoto 3" swim senko looks great in my pool , haven't tried fishing with it yet.
Good luck!
I guess I’m doing my part just received my order for six packs of hover stroll hooks in different sizes
Awesome

keep reeling on the hookset versus swing setting the hook
Matt, do you run a swivel above your hover rigs to reduce line twist?
nope
Got it saved on my wish list new sizes are not on site yet and will ya'll be adding your new jig heads as well?
yes they will be posting the TUSH and new hovers soon
I picked up a pack of the Rhythm Wag awhile back, They are a nice looking bait.
they work great!
gotta get some of the hover rigs. i got the TUSH coming this week
awesome!
I have some hover rigs in my TW shopping cart already.
Looking forward to seeing the TUSH on TW (hopefully soon).
should be any day now. they have them but just need to list them on the website

Hay Matt, I already ordered from you , but will definitely add to my next TW order. Plus, I want to get some of the tush heads as well!
TW should have them soon!
Mine should be in tomorrow, looks like fun- can't wait. Got mine off the Core site a few days ago- I'll get the next order from TW.
thanks for your support!
When will the TUSH be available at LOTW for the Canadians ?
it will be available on tackle warehouse any day. Not sure if LOTW will be carrying it
So 3/64oz for shallow water and 1/8 for deeper waters Matt? And 3/64 helps it glide better than the 1/8oz?
yes but i like to flip with the 1/8 oz as well
Hopefully the tush can get on tackle warehouse soon also.
yep we sent them to them and I expect them to be listed in about a week

Upper Potomac River muskie like the CORE Tackle rig. Grass makes the bass population better. It appears that your river is healthy with both.

we are reaching out to retailers this week
Are the tush at tacklewarehouse too
they have them in stock, but just waiting for them to list them as available for sale on the website. should be any day
What rod/reel/line combo are you using.
It’s a 7’3” ML spinning rod fast action with a 10 lb braid to 8 lb fluoro leader
@ thanks Matt!
Any underwater videos? I just bought some on TW.
Yep check out this video ua-cam.com/video/5oPFSG_gy-o/v-deo.html
What weights would you recommend for Lake Geneva?
i like the 3/64 oz size for geneva
Matt do you use FG as your braid to leader knot?
i generally use a uni to uni
Give FG a try if you ever feel like the uni to uni is failing
How does it do with a soft jerkbait plastic as far as line twist goes? If I could get away from swivels/line twist for soft jerkbait texas rigs I'm sold.

Classic pike... they let you catch a few and start enjoying yourself with a good lure setup, and then BANG!

NSJ872 maybe
NSJ-871 and NSJ-872

lead
