3 A's: Acknowledge, Accept, Act. Often we want to move from acknowledging a problem/issue directly to action but we first have to fully accept what happened, how we got here and the extend of the "dilemma" before we are ready to change our course and take the right action. It's easier to sway between denial and panic decisions until all you do is run away either mentally or physically. I find that I have to give myself time to fully digest where I truly am right now and also to take responsibility for previous (often rushed, irrational or poorly informed) decisions that got me to this point. I don't have to blame or shame myself but I also mustn't refuse to look at what happened. I find that some of my "poor" decisions were a result of feeling lost, helpless and then either doing the "easiest" thing or letting others (like my parents or boyfriend) make/influence my decisions. I should have taken more time, done more research, gotten more information and asked for the right kind of help from the right people BEFORE making my own choice and then fighting for it if necessary. Then I also have the experience now to be humble about my path and the possibility that I might have to change it or that it might not work out the way I want it to.

Thanks a million. Making the choice is the hardest step. I resigned from a toxic workplace 2.5 years ago. Sold my house at the absolute best time and am now retired. Never looked back. More time for gratitude and helping others rather than being angry and exhausted. Good tips. Once the choice is made doors open 🙏

    "See your situation accurately"- Yes.
I can only speak for myself. When I do this, I have to admit that life is great.
Why? My life is quiet, peaceful, orderly, and good. That's no exaggeration.
I do fulfilling work, earn a good wage, which permits me to save regularly and take care of my life, I'm in good health, and I have no family to care for.
Few worldly cares, few worldly possessions, and freedom.
    This summarizes my life perfectly.
"Less is more, small is beautiful, simple is best."😊🙏

However, your point has stimulated thought regarding another matter. I see the direction in which I must go if my life is to more peaceful and I am going. Thank you 😊

The happiest days of my life were those with less responsibilities for others. It gave me the freedom to focus internally for the first time in decades. Even when given life’s curve balls, when it has been only me, it’s easier to deal with when I don’t have an overwhelming responsibilities for others.

It’s really nice meeting you Venerable Nick. I’m so glad I found you on UA-cam. I had an amazing dream in reference to how to light up our own lives and be our own refuge. In the dream from my head, throat, and heart I saw it as a house that was a body; my body and I was upstairs lighting the candles up in my head and the way down to my heart. ❤️🙏

First, we need to see clearly and accurately. This is where Meditation can be so helpful in the beginning, we cannot fully trust our thoughts. It can be quite tricky.

I’m curious, Ven. Nick (and you may very well have answered this question already, so I apologize for missing the answer), but how much of a role did being a relationship therapist and seeing how much contempt can exist between two people who, at least at one point in time, loved each other, have on your decision to become ordained, if it had any influence at all. And if not consciously, do you believe it had any subconscious affect?

That’s a great question. Personally not too much. I think it was just more of a bigger calling from inside 😊
