    Get some acoustic treatments into that echo chamber, stat! It's not hard, or expensive. Educate yourself and go for it - it makes a big difference. I paid about $24/each for mine. You could drape some black velvet over your speakers/subwoofers to eliminate glare during movies. Your side/rear surrounds are very high for a base layer - were those just compromises for the room space? Good choice on the projector - great value at that price point. UB-820 is great, I have the same thing.

      looking into the sound treatment. I was hoping to wait and get it professionally done but I do not have the money for that to get all tested and treated. I have no issues with glare on the speakers or subs. The back are high to match and that one is above a door. The sides are a bit high but not as much of a difference with a good calibration that was done.

    Great room and quality equipment. I’m running SVS as well along with an Epson LS 800 UST. Look around on UA-cam for diy acoustic panels and place them in your first reflection points. Easy to build and cheap if you do them yourself. You will be amazed on how well they improve the sound in your room. You have a ton of echo. Great room, nice job with it. Wish I had that much room for my theater.

      I got lucky with this house as a basement is rare here let alone this much room. The echo is bad so that will have to be address. You and others that watch help with that as other things have the house money tied up to do a really good sound treatment job.

      My toddler takes it over during the day now that summer is here. It becomes a mess to clean from her but all worth it. Wife and I also use it to work out in with the treadmill and free weights. Kids love it when friends come over to watch movies in.

    Nice job! Throw piece of black velvet on the subs. I know you said you have no issues with glare but try it and you'll be amazed at how much glare you did have. Joann Fabrics has coupons for like 40% off all the time. Agree with some others on acoustic treatments. Could start with just first reflection points on side walls and ceiling and also the center back wall area. GIK gives some free advice. Then re-run your calibration after doing any acoustic treatment. One of the best value upgrades to a room. Then look into some transducers since on concrete. Buttkicker LFE or Advance, DIY HoverEZE or even the low cost Dayton shakers. Dialed in properly they add what subs can't do on concrete unless have lots of them and play really loud. E A G L E S .... Eagles!

      @@flyers10az that is the next steps on all of that but I never thought of the black velvet on the subs. Thank you for that.

      I can make a video showing it in action. I did not show it in that video as I know most know you can't tell how good it really is on video. So many factors can make it seem good or really bad.

    Cool setup. If I had the same layout I would've built a false wall up front with a transparent wall to wall screen.

      I considered that for in wall speakers but I did not want my front chairs any closer than what it is to the screen. I could not move the back wall any farther either.

    I hope your next purchases are some room treatment. The echo needs to be damped down, that will make a big difference to sound quality.

      That is the plan. I just spent more on my basement than I had planned so that had to wait. I want to do this all right then ugly and cheap.

    • @twistacatz
      @twistacatz 4 місяці тому

      @@TheHoff4K You think room correction can "correct" really bad speaker placement? I think your misguided on what ARC can do or how object based audio works. If I was working with your space the way you've setup your speakers would not be doable or acceptable for me. In a 9.1.4 or 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos layout the speakers are not suppose to be the corner like that. In-walls on the back wall in line with left and right speakers at ear level would make a HUGE difference. It's something you should really take a look at.
