Neat truck! Small recommendation? Consider locking down the distributor advance and using the Sniper's ignition timing control in the future. You're going to get a lot better performance and economy letting the EFI control your ignition.
Great job guys. I'm doing this kit on an AMC 5.9 when it arrives in the mail. My only recommendation is to bring the fuel pump down below the level of the fuel take and closer to the tank
Awesome mod... My nephew is an engineer at Holly in bowling Green KY.. he's put the stelth EFI on his Malibu G body, his dad's Cutlass 442. His brothers truck .. they are impressive..
One quick note... I learned this the hard way... It's usually better to use crimp terminals versus solder, because in a high vibration environment, the solder joints tend to crack. That's why in that venue crimp terminals are better. Just get ones that plug into a nice waterproof connector and viola!
What did you use for the return line as in how you put it in the tank. Did you just drill a hole to add that fitting and was there one that goes on the inside of the tank. What fitment is it aswell Thanks
This might be a dumb question but how did you thread the fuel return line fitting into the hole you drilled? And what’s keeping it in place? Because I’m trying to do the same with the stock tank.
Hi! Any updates now on the whole efi conversion? Did you keep the tank in the cab, did you add or have to do more than what was set up in this video? Could you explain more on how you installed the return line into the oem style tank. Thanks!
Cool video I would love to have an old Chevy truck like that , I have been thinking about putting something like that on my 72 Nova , but still running my old 650 Holly double pumper , still works great .
Great Thorough Video man !! but curious as to a update on your Holley Sniper Install - have you had any issues with it watsover...btw Love Your Truck., n' in addition,.your choice of wheels and those big wide whites really set it off awesomely!!
consider notching the dual plane manifolds, its that divider wall in between the 4 ports needs to be cut down a bit, (while out of the vehicle of course) the sniper seems to prefer single plane manifolds, you can get a whistle and poor idle and more problems using an unmodified dual plane manifold, also i recommend switching to a progress throttle link, its avail for around $14, need to update firmware to reset the new progressive ink setup
Looking to install EFI on my 89 YJ this summer. I have a 77 305ci Chevy in it. That kit looks easy to do. We're did you run sensor for your coolant temp gauge? Great job. I love all the jeep vids.
Great video guys. One thing you might want to think about if you haven't already is moving and replacing the gas tank for safety reasons. There are a lot of kits on the market now days for the older chevy trucks that had the gas tank behind the seat. Have a great week and God Bless!!!
This seems like a cool idea for a conversion from carb to EFI, however in my case for my car( 1981 Malibu 350) I recently installed a dash from Dakota Digital and their package includes: temperature sensor, digital VSS, oil pressure sensor and tach hookup into their ECU. If i was to purchase the Sniper, would I have to use their equipment? Could you help out in letting me know the compatibility between the ECU for the Sniper Carb and Dakota digital ECU?
thank you for the video. I am installing one on my 1972 small black blazer. couples of issues that a ran into , is the EGR valve needs to be blocked off as it hitting the new EFI ? there are two PCV valve , I assume that one can be split with the break buster and connected to the EFI. what about the other one ( that went into the air filter)? Thank you
Gary White hey I just got this setup and it all works with the mechanical gauges. You can set it to where it runs holley gauges. It will even control timing without the msd box
This is the first video I have seen of this being installed in a truck. I'm guessing that you have a square bore intake or did you get the sniper spread bore efi?
Its really cool how you get all those great deals on products you wouldn't pay for and then toss it all together and see it work.... But your work looks like shit.. I mean it's sloppy and crude.... These fuel line here just above those headers is someone looking for disfiguring scars and a life long reminder of getting ahead of yourself with a quick easy it's so cool moment... In those instructions you didn't read or simple didn't understand, you that your install will be dumping the fuel back into the tank and aerating the gas.... This will put air into the fuel mix and it's all going to mess up the EFI.... Don't bother with waisting money on valve covers and remember people out there that think you got life all dialed in will also think your idea of an install is how it should be..... I know you can do better, so just do it....
Saw someone saying it runs fine if you use an open spacer, or machine down the divider between the planes where the carb mounts, 'cause theres just one MAP sensor, and if the intake is divided, the signal wont be right

Atleast it’s not LS swapped 🔥
Fuel Pump woeks best when installed Below fuel level of tank..
Best to push rather than to pull fuel. Not the same with a chain :) Yer right Hector.
Good to see young dudes fuckin with some old shit and not some Honda stance junk
Kool 68 chevy keep us updated on how the Holley performs long term enjoy your truck

Such a sweet truck! Loved the install. You guys have some good content.
Those run best with single plane intakes. Daul plane can cause issues with them. Very nice setup though, I bet she is a blast to drive.
LSx Power Ok, I’ll do some research. Thanks for the heads up.
Build Break Repeat Your Welcome, The problem was found on an episode of engine masters. It was on episode 2 I believe.
LSx Power haha ok, I’ll watch it.

Same question

Any reply?
An amazing upgrade

Thanks for showing this.Awesome job.Looks and sounds great.Happy trails.
Great Video. Any info on how gas consumption changed?
Cool video I would love to have an old Chevy truck like that , I have been thinking about putting something like that on my 72 Nova , but still running my old 650 Holly double pumper , still works great .
I am planning on ordering one of these for my old caddy, I also wanna get an electronic distributer, would it be best to install them at the same time
Great Thorough Video man !! but curious as to a update on your Holley Sniper Install - have you had any issues with it watsover...btw Love Your Truck., n' in addition,.your choice of wheels and those big wide whites really set it off awesomely!!
Great work! You're giving me all kinds of ideas for my truck!

Very nice! Truck sounds great! Love those valve covers also! I'm about to install a Sniper on my Camaro.

I got a 1966 GMC C1000 Custom Cab Short bed with a built 350/th700r trans
So can you get away with a stock distributor not points but a stock one like so you have to use the msd thing ?
Great video - and loved the valve covers!
I'm about to add it to my '29 ford running a chevy SB350.... how do you feel about it 2 years later? Has it held up? Worth the price?
Great video guys. One thing you might want to think about if you haven't already is moving and replacing the gas tank for safety reasons. There are a lot of kits on the market now days for the older chevy trucks that had the gas tank behind the seat. Have a great week and God Bless!!!
nashguy207 Makes sense, I’ll have to take a look thanks.
My 69 has a tank from an 80s blazer in the back 👍
Your 68 looks nearly identical to a 67 c10 custom i used to have.
Dads going to love it!

With all the different efi systems out there, How did you guys come to decide on the sniper?
I imagine the ECU was still in learning mode in that initial drive. How are you liking the setup now that time has passed?
Thought the Holley had a place for the electric fans?.
It does. Has a lot of auxiliary options.
the sniper efi comes with a fan controller.
Now all you need is a nice cam swap
Was hoping this episode was about the 2 stroke kart lol
Still cool as hell tho
Ford For Life Yeah, I got a new gas tank a while ago and spark plugs came in today so we’re gona give it another shot tomorrow!
Build Break Repeat can't wait to see it
Might have to get one for my channel
Have part # for the valve covers?
Which intake manifold are you using? I may need to change mine and have a good idea of what to buy.
Go back to the return line man. Add the line on the inside so it dumps the fuel into fuel instead of creating air bubbles
Just found you guys on Cars &Cameras channel
Great channel!
thank you for the video.
I am installing one on my 1972 small black blazer.

Thank you
Adar Farkash - install a block off plate for the egr, remove vent hose to air filter, and add a breather vent (looks like small air filter or can)
Love the C10!!! Nice video!!
That’s awesome, that’s what I want to put on my CJ five. How have you liked it so far?
850 seems high for idle, isnt it supposed to be closer to like 650-750 rpm?
Great video and beautiful truck. Just wish you'd stick a heavier cam in there.
Either more cam or reduce idle speed.
Does this have the original 3 speed in it ? If so how did your mileage change from making it fuel Injected? Thanks
Remove fuel tank from behind the seat, and install tank below bed, behind axle housing.
Where did you run the ignition wire? about to put the same kit on my 71 c10
hows the fuel pump holding up i live CA our summer gets in the 100s ?
Shit u all hooked that thing right up nice truck too 👍🤘🤘
You’re gonna have issues with that fuel pump being above the tank.
This is a sweet channel!! Im suprised ive never seen it. You guys should check out decades cars, they do very similar content to y'all
Is it solid cam or what's the rocker arm noise
Nice job but the fuel pump should be mount lowest and close to the fuel tank
Will she idle down at 700rpm?
May i ask how this system is working out for you? or are you waiting till one year to do an update??
ToAshes87 It worked so well I bought it for my Jeep. Highly recommend it’s pricy but worth every penny in my opinion.
@@BuildBreakRepeat awesome!! Thanks for the follow-up. Keep up the good work sir.
did you change your timing at all
around how many hours did it take to install
howdid you add the fitting to the sending unit?? part number?
That truck is so cool
Temp sending unit installed on Cold Side of water..
Goes on intake, not on thermostat housing..
Can I use point distributer
Does your stock speedo and gauges still work with that set up or do you have to switch to digital?
Gary White hey I just got this setup and it all works with the mechanical gauges. You can set it to where it runs holley gauges. It will even control timing without the msd box
Why would the speedo be hooked to the carb?
Thomas Jefferson It's gotta go through the flux capacitor first.
wooow i sure wish i had your money.....
Is a msd required
intro is savage
what pully setup is that
did u notice any MPG gains?
I wanted to do that to my classic but i can't afford it here in Australia 😓
Love the video
Holley sniper efi the jeep?
This is the first video I have seen of this being installed in a truck. I'm guessing that you have a square bore intake or did you get the sniper spread bore efi?
No burnout? :(
electric fan controlled by the plug you didnt plug in. 2 fan control wires
Magnifique mec cool bon travail
What motor is that
Nice.....
gig'em!
How long did this take to install?
Can I have the carb since you got the inferior EFI setup?
Its really cool how you get all those great deals on products you wouldn't pay for and then toss it all together and see it work.... But your work looks like shit.. I mean it's sloppy and crude.... put the pump inside the tank works a lot better for cold starts
how much was the efi kit?
Priceless Garage It was $1,200 for the complete kit, so pretty pricy but well worth the money especially for a daily imo.
Electric Fuel pumps are more efficient pushing the fuel, not pulling. Close to the tank is better.
You should relocate the gas tank makes it safer and no gas smell or fire at your back lol
Bart Mcalister Lol yeah, not a bad idea.
Not 100% sure but I think your not supposed to run that style intake with TBI.
Saw someone saying it runs fine if you use an open spacer, or machine down the divider between the planes where the carb mounts, 'cause theres just one MAP sensor, and if the intake is divided, the signal wont be right
More jeep video
117 Lion Lol yeah, stay tuned, I just got a front axle with a locker so vid of that should be up in the next couple of weeks.
je voudrais faire la même chose sur mon Ford 302 V8, tu pense que c'est possible.
If you like drag racing come check use out at #205dragracing
Yeah you challenged us you guys are too far way though
Dang that sucks all that money and they spelt ford wrong
Where?
Right there
wonder how long it took before that fuel sock collapsed
Wow, SUPER GREAT JOB Looks, sounds great :-)
