Jeremy Mayfield drove my dad around the track at Michigan International Speedway in 1998. That meant the world to my father. His friends took a picture on that day, blew it up and it hung in my dad's bedroom over his bed until he died. I also have a picture of my dad and Jeremy from that day; priceless. Anyone to take the time to give my father the thrill of a lifetime is a star in my book. Thank you, Jeremy, for your kindness.
Yeah a guy like that can commit any crime he wants. Idc what he does, he's a hero in my book. If he murders someone or sells heroine to preschoolers....doesn't matter.
Ive met jeremy. We live in the same area and a mutual friend took me to his place to meet him. He is a hell of a guy and has some really cool man toys. The sheriff over the county at that time was very crooked. The sheriffs son got caught stalking a woman amongst many other things between the two of them. He was the one over the raids. They really made a mess for jeremy. It takes a big man to get knocked down and get back up and keep on going. Hats off to jeremy!

Well, there's little to no justice for law abiding society, but we seem to do right by all the criminals, and i don't think many law abiding citizens would disagree with that statement either.
As always, I applaud you Dale Earnhardt Jr, Mike Davis & Dirty Mo Media for not backing down from interviews that others wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. I also very much appreciate the fact that you don't hold back and only ask the "soft" questions. You guys did a great job and asked what I know were difficult questions for you to ask under the circumstances. Unfortunately, there is so much corruption in this world anymore, at all levels and all professions. It's always good to see some of the corruption and those who are/were involved in it exposed
I would even go as far to say it happens to innocent people or people that did very little more than it happens to real criminals. Especially if the federal government is involved.
Wow, this was an unbelievable show, MUST listen to the whole thing, cannot wait for Part II. Much respect to Jr. & Mike for an excellent interview. Big respect to Jeremy for standing tough and not caving to massive pressure and attacks to admit to things he didn't do.

Danny Goad, did NASCAR force Mayfield to do burglaries? Did the feds plant solen goods and illegal firearms in his house? The well documented facts blow Mayfield's story out of the water.
I just want to COMMEND Dale Jr. and crew for having the sack to let Jeremy get the truth out to the world- Dale, you are a rare breed buddy! So glad you have taken the time to do this show in general... you have gotten to the bottom of countless questions and issues involving ALL aspects of the NASCAR world, and let the stories be told that otherwise have no alternative platform to 'get them out there'- Much love to you and the entire CREW that work hard to put this thing together, we appreciate the effort greatly!
Everyone watching this needs to remember that this kind of thing happens every day to poor people. They pressure someone to set someone up, then wash rinse repeat down the line. They seek a lot of charges for leverage, so they’ll often charge crazy stuff with little evidence. If you used these same tactics the police use, to get someone to sign a contract, you’d go to jail, but it’s legal for them to pressure confessions, statements against others and plea deals.
This is how 99% of the criminal law system works. There is zero justice involved. I grew up an orphan and was wrongly imprisoned for years of my life as a juvenile and young adult.
Your exactly right lol I was homeless on drugs for years and there were times I'd get charged with 10 misdemeanors and have a 20k bail and I'd have 8 of em dropped lol its all about money 💰

@Jack Hideous Law enforcement has been being set up for the last 40 years! They have have no idea they are being so played. They have been INTENTIONALLY, despicably under-trained, and empowered thru qualified immunity to DO whatever they want and GET AWAY with whatever they want, without ANY real accountability, ...ALL TO TURN THE PUBLIC AGAINST THEM! Until Uvalde, the media has been in LOCKSTEP to defend, cover up, downplay, make-excuses-for, and prevent accountability for all of these INTENTIONALLY MIS-TRAINED cops and their crimes! But now, OVERNIGHT, ...AS A RESULT OF THIS UVALDE, ....the media has INSTANTLY ...IN LOCKSTEP ...ENTIRELY REVERSED COURSE, ...and are now, SUDDENLY, ATTACKING THE POLICE, calling them cowards and tyrants! This is a LANDMARK MOMENT, and everyone should see it as such! There wasnt a speck of the media that was attacking cops, up to and including THE DAY BEFORE THIS UVALDE! ...but low and behold the ANTI-COP NARRATIVES are flowing like a river now, ...since the moment of the first "report" of the shooting! THIS VERY "SHOOTING" is going down as THEE LINE OF DEMARCATION, of the point in time when ALL MEDIA that has been defending criminal, oath betraying cops TOOTH AND NAIL, ...SUDDENLY AND INSTANTLY ...FLIPPED THE SCRIPT TO START DEMONIZING THEM! This shooting was CRAFTED AROUND THIS VERY AGENDA! ...to propagate this very narrative. Its so obvious that the BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA OF DEMONIZING COPS is the OVERARCHING, MAIN GOAL of this STAGED EVENT! Its a 40 year long setup. The earliest 1st Amendment auditors were agents that created the movement, KNOWING that it would take on a life of its own, and that many well intentioned Americans would "pick up the torch" helping to further expose the disgraceful actions of the cops, that they had already looong been under-training, INTENTIONALLY, for the purpose of creating division, distrust and disdain between citizens and police!

I’d love to hear Jeremy’s attorney’s explanation of this fascinating case. The set-ups, the court hearings, the way they pressured him into cooperating with an unrelated drug sting and the immense pressure to plead guilty - ALL OF IT. It definitely sounds like NASCAR wanted him to go away, and were willing to use the local law enforcement agencies to put him away for good… This would make a great Hollywood movie script…

There are "career maker" guys in Law Enforcement that lick their chops when anyone famous comes on the radar. " I'm the guy that took down Michael Vick" etc. is the merit badge they'll do anything unscrupulous for. Sure, Vicks dog fighting was bad, career makers turned it into a Federal Case. Same thing with Mayfield.. famous guy on the radar.. and here come the skeezers not looking for the truth, but a scalp to claim. Why would a NASCAR driver making a good salary intentionally buy stolen goods? Doesn't make sense to me. Why the over the top raid? You can smell the corruption.
Best advice I ever had was always ask for a lawyer. I heard that advice when I was 18 and never thought I would need it till I did 30 years later. You are only innocent if you and your lawyer can prove it.
Awesome show guys. I always wondered what happened to him. I applaud ya'll for taking this subject on and not backing down. Thanks for having the best podcast around Dale Jr.
You guys finally came around to the conclusion I was thinking of after listening to this whole episode. NASCAR instituted a new drug policy, had one guy who was in charge of the whole thing. They got a positive result from somebody, and that guy said BS. Fought it as hard as he could and they couldn’t admit their program might be flawed. Would have ruined the whole thing. So they threw everything they had a Mayfield. Idk what he did or didn’t do but this definitely sounds shady af from NASCAR, their lawyers and their Dr.
I say it had more to do with the fact they got the same doctor to handle it and he missed Chris Benoit and Chris killed himself and his family. Then the doctor had to go before Congress. Nascar couldn't get involved in that for not vetting the guy properly. They probably got federal officials involved to put this away because of all the corporate sponsors attached in Nascar that could pull out because Nascar did no due diligence.
Or he really did have meth in his safe and rolled on his dealer to get out of the charges... Police can't legally count the weight of the baggy. It also seems odd that they would ask him to narc on a drug dealer if there were no drugs actually found. If there were drugs found whether planted by police or not he would've been charged and convicted unless he worked with police. His whole story smells more fishy than Rosie O'Donnells panties after running a marathon.

This is by far the best interview DirtyMo has done. I don’t believe JM was guilty, and even if he had done a thing or two wrong- don’t forget that Nascar was built off of illegal activities from the first race, so they’re no one to judge.
Jeremy was the first Cup Series driver I got to meet, back in the 1990s at his race shop. He even signed my shirt which was really cool when I was a kid.
Major lesson for everyone watching A) don’t lift a finger to help law enforcement. B) clam up and lawyer up. If he never opened that safe they would never try the drug route. PLUS SOUNDS LIKE THEY WERE WAY OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANT. This is ridiculous from top to bottom

When police want to charge you with a crime you didn’t commit without evidence they make sure to charge you with multiple variations of the crime so that the case doesn’t get dismissed as easily. The judge and state attorney will scare you at your first hearing reading off the max jail time if convicted all while they already know the charges are over-kill and your lawyer will negotiate with them later to make you plea guilty to the lesser of all charges. They tell you if you try fighting and taking things to trial and lose you get the max jail time to deter you from clogging up their calendars. Cops have arrest “goals” to hit and states attorneys have conviction percentages to keep close to 100% as possible. Don’t ever talk to law enforcement besides “hello” and a wave it’s such an incredibly dirty system.

Everyone watching this needs to remember that this kind of thing happens every day to poor people. They pressure someone to set someone up, then wash rinse repeat down the line.

Bill Jr never should have raised that riff raff punk or ever put him in charge of anything.
Nascar at that time( still now it seems) never wanted to be proven wrong/ get called out by a mistake they made
Or he really did have meth in his safe and rolled on his dealer to get out of the charges...

Hands down one of the best interviews ever on this podcast!! Jeremy Mayfield I believe you buddy!!! I believe your story I believe that NASCAR set you up!!!
I will ALWAYS be behind him!! he got the shaft hard from nascar and was used to set an example... mad props to him and his wife for what they have been through
Don’t shaft him while you’re behind him.
Buddy your comment made me laugh, I apologize.
I have always been on JM side through this entire thing. NASCAR has always been the judge, jury, prosecutor, and executioner in every single case. It wouldn't surprise me if NASCAR had their hand in the cookie jar with the police in this situation. Jeremy was about to throw his car owner at the time Ray E under the bus for having the affair with his development driver at the time Erin Crocker and with all that money he had dodge bringing NASCAR at the time I think they stepped in and said no way Jeremy
What ever happened to Mike Skinner's kid ..... hmm

@@robertmungo5428 I didn't know that until I saw a couple videos a few years ago posted by JM explaining the entire situation. After watching them I said wow it all makes sense now
Great interview. I really appreciate Dale Jr letting him tell his story.
I feel so bad for Jeremy, his life and career ruined by NASCAR’s poor system and whatever came of it off track. That’s completely unacceptable.
I was always suspicious of the charges. JM had Zero history of legal/drug issues previously and then a mountain of inconsistent evidence appears which makes him go away with a destroyed reputation. I trust God will bring justice in the end, but I appreciate hearing JM tell his side.
That's messed up! That's intestinal fortitude to stand up against all of that crap.
Hearing how both stories posted so far have had his in-depth take, it's obvious injustice was done to this human being. Not only to sabotage his racing career, but his legacy in general.
yeahh...you don't get 28 charges without having some dirt...JM still in denial.

I wish they would teach high school kids that before they give a diploma
The entire “justice” system is just a business like any other. Just do what you can to stay out of it.

Hat's off to y'all for doing this interview.
Looking through the comments there are some that doubt Jeremy. Okay fair enough.
This my question to you. What does he gain?
His reputation is ruined.
His racing career was ruined.
His finances were greatly diminished.
This interview clears some air that's about it.
It doesn’t matter what he has to gain. In my experience, most drug addicts are habitual and perpetual deniers. I’m not opining his guilt or innocence.
This guy's story just confirms my distrust of cops and the "justice" system. He's lucky he didn't get killed in that raid.

This story is amazing, glad to hear Jeremy 's side of this, sounds like he was set up.
That sounds like the case, especially when only listening to the methhead defendant's side of the story and nothing else.
Phillip Langley, his side has very little value. The court ruled that all the evidence had merit and the federal warrant was justified. Did NASCAR force Mayfield to do burglaries, possess stolen goods and illegal firearms in his house?
Sure does. The more I watched, the more I got pissed off. He pissed off the wrong people. Hopefully, everyone involved will get their comeuppance.
100%
Don’t think for a minute that NASCAR doesn’t have some “law enforcers” on retainer that wanted to build an entire case against him in order to completely discredit him…
He was targeted. And I’d bet a dollar that NASCAR senior management was fully behind it.

I’m not taking sides or saying JM is lying, but I’d LOVE to hear the evidence that law enforcement had against him that he isn’t talking about. There are always two sides to every story.
Well, the Fed's have a 98% conviction rate on all cases, and they failed to convict on 24 of 28 charges, so they obviously didn't have jack sh!t, especially not on the matter of drug charges. The feds rarely pursue a case they can't win. The rat claimed Mayfield was smoking one half ounce of meth per day! Jeremy would have need to be manufacturing or he would have needed pounds of meth to supply that habit. Cops claimed to find a meth pipe on a trailer. Dollars to donuts it was a piece of brake line. They found no foils, blades or other paraphernalia. I'm sure cops wanted info from the rat to be true. NASCAR had released his private info to the media. Cops thought they were busting a king pin. They were wrong. Thank God someone with sense finally dropped the charges. Would be nice to see what happened to the rat. If nothing else, the Meth before and after ads exonerate Mayfield. He looks great for an old man. I'd like to see the rat's time lapse pics.
