In this Warhammer 40k game Mubin builds a 1,000 point list to expand on the beautifully painted Thousand Sons combat patrol we just received from Art-W Studio. To meet the psykers on the battlefield is the fanatical Black Templar looking to destroy the witch. Tak is expanding on the Black Templar Combat Patrol in this Warhammer 40k game.

The Emperor's Champion may have fallen without swinging his sword. But, his brothers were able to retrieve his sword and armor. A good Black Templar victory.
This 40min of 40k is seriously one of my favorite formats, for 40k game-play videos. I think you've got a formula for success and its only gonna get better.
They have a great mix of game play and narration that honestly I think makes them stand out, and don't even get my started on their personalities, gods I love Tyhco

I don’t know if this counts, but I think Grey Knights are a little bit cooler. Still, Black Templars take #2 place for me.

weirdly enough, theese are my 2 favourite armies. I asked for this one (a black templar match) during the guard vs ts video and I am extremely happy that it came out this way😊

every time i see the fucking tzaangor combat patrol, i can hear PancreasNoWork in my head in a half demented chuckle, saying "20 tzaangors!"
Still kills me that they turned our Psychic Phase into Command Phase/Shooting shenanigans.
The redemptors plasma is d6+1 shots, Tak was under rolling his plasma.

I honestly would have gone with the anti-psyker vow but either way I’m a big fan of the templars, keep showing them off please!
It’s actually not that useful vs TS. FNP vs all their dev wounds shenanigans is more useful. You can always spend a CP to put a unit you need in Abhor to hurt things that need it, because Anti-Psyker 4+ doesn’t buy you that much most of the time.
That vow is pretty much only useful (in my opinion) against grey knights.

I also happened to play against Thousand Sons this past weekend with my Black Templars. Game ended in a landslide victory for my Templars. LRCs having the original assault ramps back has really made them worth their points.

But I wonder is it possibly to do like a massive 2v2? Like could you imagine the carnage? If DA and ULTRAMARINES the Lion and Guilliman gathered intel of a massive tyrannid hive in a system near by? Oh mannnnn
That would be a great video. I loved their old 2v2s and Apocalypse battle videos. As for which SM chapter to pick my vote is the DA as that is the Legion I am slowly collecting
As a chaos player myself, I love the dark angels, they have such cool medival like armor mini wise, if you compare primarchs look wise I love the lion much more, love the style and love the colors

I love the idea of being able to run three detachments of if I so choose, I like the cavalry/ air support the ravenwing bring, the ground and pound of the deathwing? I think, but yeah have you guys seen any like cool DA painting schemes?
@deejillini2680 I personally don't know many of their styles, but there is a plethora of youtubers who paint DA, even though there painting is proffesional level, it might jelp give you an idea of a color scheme? I personally love their dark green or black and red schemes. Idk the significants of the colors just that they look awesome lol

Loved seeing the Black Templars in action! Just a really quick note, I know it's a small detail but Crusaders cannot naturally advance and charge, they can re-roll advance and charges. However, if Grimaldus is with them, then they can advance and charge / fall back and charge.

Just letting you guys know that the chapter is called 'Black Templars'. Cause there's a lot of them.
this game feels like game 2 at my last RTT. My IK vs GK, and by nature of the dice, forcing targets with move/charge blocking, and other just plain craziness, I had 2 out of 3 big knights and 2 out of 4 armigers left on 1 wound, and only lost 1 armiger.
I’m a simple man - I see Black Templars and I click the ‘Like’ button. I also root for whoever is playing my beloved Templars, and I demand, *demand* I say, that the Black Templars automatically win the game just because they’re the coolest.
This was a rough matchup for the Sons, but a great game anyway. Would love to see a game under Deathwatch’s rules for Space Marines… I think their units are horribly overpriced but on a good SM generic army they look quite strong particularly the Double Oath and being able to Deep strike either Gravis or my favorite the Company Heroes squad which are very difficult to shift. (Also the Judiciar with some Bladeguard with the Thief enhancement is insanely powerful)

i appreciate tak going easy here and choosing the 6+ fnp instead of the *universal anti psyker 4+ for all melee alongside 4+ invul against psychic*
4+ invul against psychic doesn't help you a lot when up against Devastating wounds

In every "40K in 40Min" Black Templar battle I've seen, the Emperor's Champion gets annihilated in the first or second round 😂

Idea: what if you did a progression of a combat patrol into a full army. Like what an army would look like growing from a combat patrol to a full fledged 2000 point.

It looks like the mission rule card or the voice over for it was incorrect. Hidden Supplies adds a sixth objective marker in no man’s land and pushes the center objective towards a no man’s land corner if possible. Secret Intel matches what the voice over said to draw a third secondary then discard one.
Any other army would've died from Tak's horrible dice.
The death of the emperor's champion inspired his brothers to fight on no matter the odds may I only ask what is the emperor's champion's name?

How did he advance and charge with the crusaders? That's not possible with a templar detachment
The unit with advance and charge had Grimaldus in it. Tak elected to use "Banner of Fallen Crusaders".
Ruburic marines only reroll wounds for ranged attacks not that it mattered great game.

winner of deploy roll is Attacker. Winner of first turn roll is first. why you guys choosing?. did I miss a change?
In the Chapter Approved Leviathan missions, when determining deployment, the winner does choose who is attacker and who is defender. This may be different from the core rule book missions (I haven't played a core rule book mission in a minute).
@@PlayOnTabletop it wasn't part of a mission. It was in the core rules. Would imagine mission rules would supercede if specified I would assume.

When playing a Chapter Approved mission there will be rules that supersedes the core rule book. There is a pamphlet that comes with the Chapter Approved mission pack that contains all the missions and mission set up rules for that type of game mode. If you are only playing core rule book missions you will use the core rule book set up. Hope that helps.

The production quality is insane. But TechGuy if you read this, it would be soooooo helpful to add some sort of "line" into the Animations/Overlay to see in what type of Phase the players are and what phase comes next/was previously.

Crusaders have a "scout6" move while a character is not with them... could have moved that 2nd squad up the board early without those 2 low roles in turn1
Sorry, it may not have been clear. Both Crusader squads had characters. One had Grimaldus. The other a Chaplain, which is why they had the 5+ feel no pain. We will try to make that clearer in the future.
Ah my apologies you lovely people@@PlayOnTabletop, I love running 2 blocks of 10 just for the scout move! Upsets quite a few opponents ;) This is also paired with Grimaldus and a blob of 20 for the soul destroying 5+++ on 24 models

It seems to me that the Rhino can't fire psychic powers because it doesn't have the psyker keyword.
so on the first turn you couldn't eliminate the champion with psychic stalk
We read the rules commentary and it does say that you do not need the psyker keyword to use a psychic attack. Certain abilities require the psyker keyword.
If you command reroll you should have to use the/a big die.
