It’s so great that you are documenting about Halle’s development. Of course all babies are different, but I think you’ve done the right thing looking for advice from professionals- that’s what they’re there for!! Plus any early intervention/ support for you is only going to benefit her. You’re a wonderful mummy. She’s a lucky little lady xx

Thank you so much lovely! I feel a lot more at ease about it now thanks to all the conversations I’ve had with people that know what they’re talking about 😅 hopefully it can give others some reassurance, comfort and ideas if they’re worried about their little ones development too 🥰

Thanks for documenting Halle's journey with weaning and movement etc. My 16MO was born with a condition that meant he was delayed with weaning and gross motor skills due to having 3 surgeries on his tummy. I feel like he's only really just nailing 3 meals and snacks per day in the last 2 months or so. He also didn't crawl til 12 months and is only just showing signs of being ready to walk. It was a very slow build and was sososososo stressful as a FTM. Anyway he's always been super on it with communication and saying lots of words and so happy and smiley I'm always trying to remind myself that me stressing and trying to force things just doesn't help. They'll all get there. Love the videos x

My first was just like Halle and didn’t take to weaning until she was about 8/9 months. She’s 2 and now I can’t stop her from eating!!!! Halle will definitely get there. I’m hoping my newborn will take to it a little easier when the time comes. You are a wonderful Mum Shan ❤

Hi there, I have a little girl who is a few days younger than Hallie and a little boy who is 4 so your videos are very relatable. Totally agree with the babies do things at their own pace. I found that when I took the bars off the play mat/ laid her on the floor with toys around her instead of above, made the world of difference in rolling. Literally the next day she started rolling consistently. I also put her in a washing basket with some toys to help with sitting up. Helping with her core strength rather than just relying on the little seats to hold her up. Just some things that may help if you haven’t already tried. I’m sure Hallie will do it all in her own time. You’re absolutely smashing it. I remember in the early days thinking god how does she do it with her husband away a toddler and newborn 😓when I was struggling even with help xx

Thank you so much for these tips, I love them! I will definitely be implementing some! We’re getting better and better with some of the exercises and her sitting is coming on so so well which is so lovely to see 🥹 thank you so much for your support, it means so much ♥️

I wouldn't worry about the weaning, my 2nd son was quite advanced developmentally & started walking at 10 months, but he was only interested in solids at like 8/9 months. You're doing a great job hun ❤️🌸

Hey Shan - I hope you’re ok you poor thing :( I’ve just gotten to the part in the vid where little G was coughing whilst watching telly - I really suggest getting some “Snufflebabe bath vapour” bubble bath from boots - it’s essential oils (like vicks) but for the bath and it’s really good for coughs or snotty noses etc it may be good to have as the little lad is going to be picking up loads of little coughs whilst at forest school as you already know - just thought it might help take the edge off 😊 plus you and little miss Halle can use it too!
Sending Halle good vibes bless her - I’m sure she’ll get there and you’ll laugh at how much fuss it caused! X

I was really disheartened when my baby (my first) didn't take to weaning. She did everything you describe Halle doing. Sealing her lips shut and generally getting quite upset in her chair. We just did exactly what you're doing, carried on, didn't put any pressure on her and then suddenly it was like a switch flipped when she was about 9 months old and now she's generally fine with food. Saying that, she's just cut her 7th and 8th teeth and lost her appetite completely so I think teething/teeth definitely affects it. Bless Halle having all those teeth already she's probably been like wha t the hell do I do with these! Babies are funny little things aren't they and we can't help but worry, especially if you had such a different experience with George; I can totally understand why that would throw you. Hope it's all on the up from here but if there's one thing I've learned from just having one child is that babies will do stuff when they're ready, I just wish they could tell us when they're not! xx

My little boy is 2 and was the same as George didn’t hesitate when it came to weaning at all but my 7 month old little girl is the exact same go near with a spoon and she’s not interested so I just give her what we have for dinner and just leave her with it and she’s now starting to eat little bits she likes cucumber sticks, fish, sweet potato and avocado on toast we’re just giving what’s easy for her to pick up because she will not open her mouth to be fed and like you said seems to have developed an aversion to being spoon fed

My little girl didn’t properly eat until she was about 1 😂! She loved milk, she would play with her food and then at 10 months started eating bits and pieces then properly at 1 she was eating meals! 🥰

Please don’t worry about Halle and her eating. My Winter has only just started enjoying foods and she is 9 months. Porridge was always a win and melty sticks, that was her diet for at least 8 weeks. However she has made a turn in the last 3 weeks. It will happen in time 🥰

Thankyou for sharing.... you're doing amazing! As a working mum of a 4 and 7 year old I can say the house carnage continues even when they are at school..... you sum it up perfectly... that hour before drop offs creates a level of chaos in the house the same as a whole day at home....mental!! I really struggle with it when working from home....hubby can just leave it and focus on his work, I have to sort it before I can focus on work 😅 ahhh the joys of juggling it all.... totally worth it though!! Halle will get there with her food.... slow and steady!!

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  7 місяців тому +1

Ahhh I’m exactly the same as you, I can’t focus when I know there’s porridge drying on bowls as we speak 😅😅
I know we’ll miss our carnage / messy houses when the kids aren’t so little, but it’s hard to keep that mindset going when the constant tidying and cleaning is like Groundhog Day 😂😂

I know as mums we stress about every single thing, but please please stop putting pressure on yourself and her to eat. It really isn’t a big deal and you’re making it in to one (I know it’s hard not to worry) also she will be picking up on your vibes! I know people say ‘stop over thinking’ but actually, my advice would be ‘stop thinking about it altogether’. Chill. Offer her food. Let her play and explore it!

My almost 8 month old is exactly the same with weaning! Finding it stressful and disheartening 😢 I have seen others say that one day it just clicked for their baby so hopefully it'll be the same for ours 🤞also I've found an amazingggg gentle sleep consultant (who is also trained in nutrition and other things). She does a free online workshop every few months (I found her whilst she was doing the Jan one - think the next is May). I've gone on to buy her course as she's completely changed my little one's sleep!! He now sleeps through and is napping like a dream. She's called Sleep Well With Hannah. Love watching your videos, you're so relatable. Thanks for being so honest and real x

Food is fun until they are one, I had 2 boys who didn’t really take to weaning, you are better doing what you said to offer food and let them choose. Lots of different choices and let her explore with touch first and she will be exploring with her mouth soon enough. Good luck 🤞

With the tongue tie I’d really recommend doing the massage of the area to prevent it from reattaching, I didn’t do it for my son and his grew back and I can see how it affects him now at 5. My lg Is 7 months and we thought she was behind and then one day she just came on leaps and bounds but it’s so hard to not compare

Teeth are such a pain aren’t they and Forest always goes off his food when he’s getting a tooth! He’s 9 months but he’s had 8 teeth since 6 month old it was absolutely insane but hasn’t had any since until he’s now teething again i think it’s just crazy🤣x

Hi Shan, just to say you are doing SO well. I want to add to all the other encouraging comments here.. my second is 9 months old and she only really started wanting to eat solids about a month ago. And even then when a new tooth is coming through, she is off food for a few days. The main two things that helped us eventually turn a corner: I started giving her food as almost like a toy so that she could get used to it - so i scooped out her porridge onto her tray, gritted my teeth and let her make a massive mess haha. And then also she absolutely loves her older sister and i’ve noticed she eats way more if they’re eating together and she can watch my toddler eat. Could try and get George and Halle to sit together and have something similar? Xxx

I use to put my toddlers in a high chair with food on the tray & put them up to the table when we ate. They d try to copy us then. All children develop at different ages. 😊
