    Thank you soooo much! I was taught to knit like that by my grandmother, but she never got to teach me decreases. Your explantations are so, so clear! Thank you!

    Thank you, Irina, for affirming that there are other ways to “skin a cat.” When we have knitting technique options, we can apply them to suit us. For many years, I’ve been wrapping the first purl stitch following a cable in the Eastern, clockwise direction to tighten up the stitch and getting a neater cable. On the reverse side, on a flat piece, I knit that stitch through the back loop. ❤

    Thank you! I took a class on continental combination a few years ago when I first started knitting and just barely understood what was happening since I had not learned to read my knitting yet. I’m more comfortable reading my stitches now and have been trying out continental combination again, so this video is perfect timing!

    Fantastic video, Irina! So very clear. I know you plan to make a video on increases as well, but would you consider making a video to grandma knitting tips and tricks?

      @@Fiberchats You are most welcome and thank you for everything you do. As an additional note, as someone who is consistently trying to find information on combination knitting, and someone who is also trying to keep to keep traditional crafts alive, there is not much information out there. It would be sad to lose traditions in this increasingly teckky world. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the marrying two (traditional and tech) to preserve our crafts, so I thank you again for your videos.

    Thanks Irina for this video. I use the combination method already in simple patterns. Your explanations showed me the way! How do I handle yarn overs? Simple cables such as 1/1 LC and 1/1 RC? Cable without a cable needle?

    Thank you so much for the clear explanations. 😅. I am practicing. My main question is about twisted rib stitches. Do you remount the knit stitches for this? If you would also show the YO increase combined with various decreases that would help me understand a mistake I am making in a lace k,p and cable pattern. The YOs disappear on the reverse, purl side. Lots to learn!

    • @katerogers5365
      @katerogers5365 2 місяці тому

      Think I have figured out that I need to wrap all YOs counter-clockwise! 😂. Too many years doing it the reverse way

    • @katerogers5365
      @katerogers5365 2 місяці тому

      It is it clock-wise? Anyway, opposite way
