Though Microsoft should've went with the Unused Xbox One Intro, Cause that symbolized the power and memories of the past systems. The early 2000s were the best time for video games. You had 4 different consoles to pick from, being the Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, and the Dreamcast. All consoles had amazing games. Halo was just as good as socom. Melee was just as good as Sonic Adventure 2. Handheld consoles were rising as shown with the DS and PSP. Not to mention all the 3rd party games were at its prime. Rockstar rose with the GTA series was thanks to GTA 3. Capcom was still respected. Rare hadn't been sold to Microsoft yet. EA wasn't greedy like it is now. One of the best parts about was that online gaming was rising. Games like Socom and Halo, and there was no DLC or skins you had to pay money with.
Guilty as charged though i only personally owned a ps2 and gamecube at the time but i really wanted an xbox since my uncle brought it over a few times. I got the original xbox now as an adult so its a bittersweet thing.
Man xbox was a game changer, and made a huge impact in the gaming industry i remember playing games like halo 2 on the xbox or mercenaries: playground of destruction before going to school. What great memories, xbox will always have a special place in my heart, i still have the original and i believe it still works, i still play xbox today, and i will always continue to do so, ive never owned a PlayStation, nintendo, etc, so xbox was special to me, my golden years were really on the xbox 360, as i was pretty young when i played the original

Nostalgia overload. I will forever feel weird being a Zoomer who grew up with an OG Xbox as their first console at age 4/5 because my brother and sister were 6 years older than me and wanted the "big kids'" console. I still remember holding a Duke controller in my tiny babi hands before we got some S controllers, Lol! On one hand I feel like I missed out on all the kid friendly stuff people my age had on the PS2 and Gamecube. On the other I got stuff like Blinx (WHO I LOVED AS A KID AND WISH WASN'T SHITCANNED BY EDGELORDS!), JSRF, the Oddworld Games, etc., most of which are basically impossible to play without an Xbox console or Backwards compatibility because emulation is almost non-existent and they weren't ported to other platforms. Also, I got to play shit like Halo, Doom, Ninja Gaiden, etc. at an insanely young age because my Mom was cool with killing aliens and monsters "as long as they aren't real people". Not to mention all the PC games that got ported to the Xbox exclusively. So that's sick. Still, when I ask people my age if anyone GREW UP with an OG Xbox instead of a PS2 it's rare if I find even a single person... lol. And we weren't even rich kids! We were actually poor AF with a single parent, but got it as a gift from some relatives XD! And even though I'm primarily PC and Switch now, if I do decide to get a new console I'm leaning towards the XBSX atm since the PS5 seems to have fuck all games and no backwards compatibility. I honestly want Microsoft to rebound from the XBONE's failure, even if only for sentimental reasons. Outside of a few DS and Wii games, Microsoft basically owns my childhood and early teens :P
I am 13 and i remember my father giving me a modded xbox like this when i was 4 or 5. I made so many memories on that xbox. I could play Nintendo, sega, and capcom games on that thing and i used to love the startup. I came across this video and it brought back my interest in the console.

Man I remember getting this baby for Christmas in 2001 and getting so excited I had an asthma attack. Man I was sooo happy. I was born 2005 but I've played on every type of Xbox: the original, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and now I play Xbox Series S so looking back on this is still nostalgic for me. I've played on a lot of consoles, not just Xbox either but Xbox was my first console I've ever played on.
The 2000’s were a great time for video games in general. But the Xbox brand really flourished then. On the og Xbox gamers got Halo CE and Halo 2, both great shooters. It also had the original Fable, the best in that series. There were plenty of shooters,RPG’s, action/adventure games, platformers, fighting games, racing games, sports games, party games and a lot more. By the end of the Xbox 360 era we had even more games. But around 2010-2012 Microsoft started to care less about AAA hardcore exclusives and more about promoting Kinect. This strategy decision has continued to have an effect on regressing Xbox exclusive games, even after Kinect’s demise. The DRM policy for the Xbox one in 2013 that was scrapped didn’t help at all. While I think it’s good that Microsoft is investing in their first party lineup for the next system, going into project Scarlett they’re gonna have to really make sure that they know what their studios are doing this time around. I honestly really want to see the Xbox brand do well again

moosejuice216 oh don’t worry there very normal Microsoft added them sounds to make the Xbox sound realistic in a sci fi way and they made the Xbox that way so it was like it was made in an alien world they may sound creepy but nothing is gonna get you In the night but if you really hated then sounds then you should’ve muted your Xbox or turn it off especially if your gonna leave it on at night you don’t wanna be hearing that while your asleep XD btw them sounds are required for nasa to pick it up sort of thing I forgot about what they said but anyways get one of the nicer consoles like the ps3 PS4 Xbox one or even Xbox 360 if you hate the original Xbox that much you have a great morning noon afternoon evening dusk night pre dawn dawn whatever and I hope you don’t have nightmares anymore

He composed the music the same way he did for his pinball and Genesis games, by manually programming them to fit into the the very small remaining space of the XBox’s BIOS.

Nostalgia overload. I will forever feel weird being a Zoomer who grew up with an OG Xbox as their first console at age 4/5 because my brother and sister were 6 years older than me and wanted the "big kids'" console. I still remember holding a Duke controller in my tiny babi hands before we got some S controllers, Lol! On one hand I feel like I missed out on all the kid friendly stuff people my age had on the PS2 and Gamecube. On the other I got stuff like Blinx (WHO I LOVED AS A KID AND WISH WASN'T SHITCANNED BY EDGELORDS!), JSRF, the Oddworld Games, etc., most of which are basically impossible to play without an Xbox console or Backwards compatibility because emulation is almost non-existent and they weren't ported to other platforms.
Also, I got to play shit like Halo, Doom, Ninja Gaiden, etc. at an insanely young age because my Mom was cool with killing aliens and monsters "as long as they aren't real people". Not to mention all the PC games that got ported to the Xbox exclusively. So that's sick. Still, when I ask people my age if anyone GREW UP with an OG Xbox instead of a PS2 it's rare if I find even a single person... lol. And we weren't even rich kids! We were actually poor AF with a single parent, but got it as a gift from some relatives XD!
And even though I'm primarily PC and Switch now, if I do decide to get a new console I'm leaning towards the XBSX atm since the PS5 seems to have fuck all games and no backwards compatibility. I honestly want Microsoft to rebound from the XBONE's failure, even if only for sentimental reasons. Outside of a few DS and Wii games, Microsoft basically owns my childhood and early teens :P

I am 13 and i remember my father giving me a modded xbox like this when i was 4 or 5. I made so many memories on that xbox. I could play Nintendo, sega, and capcom games on that thing and i used to love the startup. I came across this video and it brought back my interest in the console.

Everyone always talks about how scary the THX logo is, but was anyone else scared by this. Well my turned the Xbox on, and this intro played I ran and hide behind the couch every time.
Man I remember getting this baby for Christmas in 2001 and getting so excited I had an asthma attack. Man I was sooo happy. Powering it on for the 1st time I remember this start up Screen reminded me of like a nuclear reactor or something it was so hype. And oh man holding on to that Duke controller it was awesome 1st time a controller actually felt like it fit my hands and wasn't gonna break immediately.
I was born 2005 but I've played on every type of Xbox: the original, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and now I play Xbox Series S so looking back on this is still nostalgic for me. I've played on a lot of consoles, not just Xbox either but Xbox was my first console I've ever played on.

The 2000’s were a great time for video games in general. But the Xbox brand really flourished then. On the og Xbox gamers got Halo CE and Halo 2, both great shooters. It also had the original Fable, the best in that series. There were plenty of shooters,RPG’s, action/adventure games, platformers, fighting games, racing games, sports games, party games and a lot more. By the end of the Xbox 360 era we had even more games. But around 2010-2012 Microsoft started to care less about AAA hardcore exclusives and more about promoting Kinect. This strategy decision has continued to have an effect on regressing Xbox exclusive games, even after Kinect’s demise. The DRM policy for the Xbox one in 2013 that was scrapped didn’t help at all. While I think it’s good that Microsoft is investing in their first party lineup for the next system, going into project Scarlett they’re gonna have to really make sure that they know what their studios are doing this time around. I honestly really want to see the Xbox brand do well again

The start up screen alone is why i wish i had the original xbox over ps2. My uncle had an xbox and i remember just being blown away from how the console itself looked, the colors, boxart design and finally the controllers themselves. All looked better than ps2 especially since you could play your own bgm
