Building a Period Correct Gas Station Sign Mount

- This time at the Quick Speed Shop I need to build a period correct sign mount post for my Richfield backyard gas station building. This is an original 60" porcelain enamel sign, circa 1940s-1950s. I built a replica gas station in the backyard and this sign will be displayed next to it. I made a base out of riveted pipe and concrete to mount the pole. The sign will stand about 15 ft tall when completed.
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

One again, your motto, 'why trash it when you can stash it' is paying off with the hoops, & creek sign base!! Never buy new when the good old stuff is around!! Great sign for the awesome 1940's gas station!! Nice planning on the bottom sign brace!!
Always need to keep an eye out for anything that can be reused at some point!
I love the sign
👍
Great Job Josh The sign will look awesome keep the videos coming, thats what she said!!

👍

Wait until you see it up in the air!
@@QuickSpeedShop Oh man, I can't wait!
Great Job Josh ! Met you on Power Tour !
Hi John!
You should drill a drain hole in the base plate. The post will be filled with water as it rains and during winter it will split as it freeses
I drilled 2 in the pole as well as 1 in the hoop.
This video could not have been posted at a better time for me. I've got a two ft. one sided Texaco Gas Station sign. That I'm going to put close to the corner of my shop. The way I'm doing mine is similar to you. I'm going to use something that is most likely in the driveway at a lot of houses. A basketball pole that has the plastic base on it that I got for free. I'll just use the pole which is about 8 or 9 feet tall . Then I'll make a bracket that will hold the sign and weld the bracket to the pole. And the whole thing will be attached to a T-post that's already driven into the ground. I also have a green angled porcelain light that I'm thinking about putting on top. It will only be there for looks.
That sounds awesome 👌
@@QuickSpeedShop Thanks.
That is one heck of a sign post Should have no problems with the sign in a huricane lol. What about an erection? do you need the blue pill 🤣 thanks for the video I can't wait to see the video of the install. Have a great week Josh. earn some money we are patiently waiting for more project video's
