I would absolutely kill for an entire recorded performance of this original cast. Aspects of Love was one of the most underrated and under appreciated musicals ever.
It's been one of my favourites ever since I heard it for the first time 26 years ago, and I think one of the reasons is pretty much the entirety of the story is there in the music and songs rather than most musicals only giving you snippets of it through the music. It is thus not just a collection of nice songs, but a narrative you can easily follow through the lyrics and melodies. I've never seen it, but I'd so have loved to see a recording of the original West End or Broadway show - both had pretty much the same cast, since it didn't stay long in the West End.
I couldn't agree more. I really don't understand why. I absolutely love this cast. Kevin as George is so perfect. I came here looking for the entire performance. I am not sure it exists in the public record.
It's the soundtrack I've found myself listening to the most often for 25 years. When I'm in a melancholy mood, I always fall back on this. The ballads are magical.
I was fortunate to see this show several times during its original broadway run. The cast recording is one of my all time favorites, just one beautiful song after the next. Perfectly cast, beautifully sung. I was so sad to hear of Ann Crumb’s passing, but she will continue to move many through these recordings. Thank you for posting.
I was fortunate to have seen this masterpiece twice! Thank you! Still can't believe that New York thought it wasn't another Phantom, so they weren't interested and it closed too soon, or I would have gone back a third time!
Thank you very much for posting this. Am lucky to have seen this thrilling, enthralling but sadly much underrated show many times with original casts in both London and Broadway as well as the final West End performance starring Sarah Brightman. Memories!
These wonderful gems you post make me very happy! I love 'Aspects of Love' and I thought that I could never see the original London/Broadway cast, so thank you for sharing this! I immediatlely subscribed!
I saw the uk tour a few years ago and fell in love with the show. So beautiful xxx Such a shame we have such woke critics now who condemn everything xx
Michael has gone in to a beautiful career, Les Miz, Phantom, concerts recordings, and a first novel The Empire, you will have to buy its to see what its about. No its not a autobiography. I saw him in Liverpool, london twice, now going back for my 3rd trip to london and aspects of love also listen to Alfie Boe who is a brilliant singer and does concerts with Michael. Alf is is fun, beautiful tenor. Blend with Michaela Baritone, and wow. They have to several albums out. Enough for now. BTW had a meet with Michael what a very kind person. Love him he is smart, articulate, engageing and sexy, big blue eyes great laugh. Look forward to seeing him this fall. He does not do Aspects in Monday's. Now I'm done
All the rules we make are broken... And so true if you think of this book/musical's ludicrous plot. What you expect to happen doesn't happen and what you don't expect ends up happening. It doesn't make any sense and is absolutely insane at times (as if she'd still love him after he shoots her???), but I guess that's how love is isn't it? It makes zero sense.
For all 🎉who posted his 5 to 6 yrs.ago Aspects is opening in London May have thru Nov. Much a is playing the father. Bogyo is doing Alex, he good but now once beat Michael. Its at the Lyric west 🎉end

One of the best scores and shows. I saw it in Toronto several times and on tour in Detroit. LOVE IT
"Anything but Lonely" is a superb piece - in the show and as a lyric in a show alone.

Now I'm done
Iam waiting for someone to tell Michael Ball on his Sunday Radio 2show they have seen this on his show
Sarah Brightman did a video of this song from the musical in the video of the best ALW.
Andrew Loyd Webber once claimed it was his best score!
