  • Sick and tired of the terrible performance of the LED bulbs in my stock headlight housings. Decided to install a mini-projector set up from CO Light. Cost is reasonable, and the install is pretty straight forward. In this video I outline the how's and why's of the install.

    I have these on my 2000 Tundra in some aftermarket housings that luckily didn't have the reflector. Like them a lot.

      For the cost, they are definitely a noticeable improvement over the stock bulbs.

    Nice. The link seems to be dead for this product. I order the co-light mini projector from their website. Hopefully this works out

      Yeah, this video is older. They have probably came out with a newer version since I filmed this. Mine are still going strong with no issues though!

    did you end up having any scattering issues. I just purchased an essentially identical set but im scared to go through with it since i would need to remove the shield.

      Not at all. You can see the beam patterns at the end of the video. Scattering issues are from using a standard LED in the stock housing, which is a bad idea IMO. Thats why I went with the collector (projector) type, so I wouldn’t have those issues.

    my headlights are titled, any idea how i can fix that?

    • @JHBtheIV
      @JHBtheIV  3 місяці тому

      When you say tilted, do you mean the beam cut off pattern? It’s supposed to be higher on the right and slope down to the left, so it’s lower on the side that’s shining into oncoming traffic.

      @@JHBtheIV well the cut off pattern supposed to look like this

      @@RazeyIstSounds like you need to rotate the bulbs in the housings to bring the light “fan,” more horizontal.

    Did you happen to have any issues with the bright light indicator on the dash not working after installing these?

    • @JHBtheIV
      @JHBtheIV  Рік тому

      That happens when I unplug my fogs. There is not enough resistance in the circuit to “tell” the dash that the high beams are on. Add a resistor to the headlight circuit, and that should fix the issue.

    hows the range compared to your old setup?

    • @JHBtheIV
      @JHBtheIV  7 місяців тому

      Similar range, as I made sure to adjust them properly. They do put out better light though.

    How did you Adjust the front head lights ?

    • @JHBtheIV
      @JHBtheIV  Рік тому +1

      There is an adjustment screw in the projectors that allow you to turn the lense inside the housing. You adjust the housing itself the same way you would with factory headlight bulbs.

      @@JHBtheIV I bought the same one . My head lights is facing up trying to keep it level,

      Make sure you have both projectors oriented the same way in the housings. I have mine with the open side facing straight down. That gave me a good beam pattern.

      @@JHBtheIV ok thanks.

      You’re welcome! If that doesn’t get your pattern sorted, next step would be adjusting the housings themselves, using the adjustment screws in the mounts.
