Enjoyable watch, thanks. I particularly like the cut scenes with cool lighting effects. Great spirits regardless of dice, showing the way to play. Never thought id say this, but Soviet Smoke is very good, and really restricts the usual first couple I'd turns where the defender things out the attacker.
ROFL.....this is where you always roll 6's Jake.....(triple 1)......oh, sorry Jake. Im coming late to FoW, but loving watching your films guys....thanks for the entertainment and tuition....I feel so sorry for J in this game so far (53 mins in).
in this case, not sure if i would not have put the 88 on the board and the panther's in ambush, that way, the IL 2's can't target them. It would limit their placement but they can still move if they want and you can reveal the ambush, i believe within 8 inches if in concealing terrain. Congrats on graduating Jake and always make time for AMG&S
Thanks for the comments, It's always a challenge to decide. 88s on the board from the get go are so much more easily countered or dealt with but Ambushing a panther platoon is so very powerful.
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall the panthers in ambush are devastating,,,,3 x 2 shots and then they can move, etc. The 88's can start dug in giving them additional protection. If you get flak, you can get the non mobile flak and dig that in too. It may not move but really, that should become your within 4 inches of the objective.
Maybe the 88's (or the Panthers) should have ambushed earlier up against the smokescreen. I think this is what we will see more and more for German players against the Soviet 2 round smoke.
Great bat rep as usual. No offence, but Jake showed how not to use a luck card. You use it to save a platoon of Panthers or some other game-winning roll. It also looked like those 88s should have been in the central field for a better LOS. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for another interesting video. The Hero SMG platoon have skill of 3+ not 5+, so one team would have got through the minefield, (sorry Jake). Jake, I'm still not certain about those dice....those are just seem to let you down when it really matters.!!!! Keep up the good work guys.
I only played a little bit of 4th ed but I quit when they dropped to the 100 pt scale. It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Great game, thanks for posting!
Gee Jake, first turn you were like, 'Maybe I shouldn't have my AA in the woods'. Then what do you do? Leave them in the woods and get wasted by planes. Dice can suck, but you were doing no favors for yourself.
Now that’s how the Russians play! Crush the dirty Nazis with impunity with 80% of the Rusky points still on the table. Pretty much my experience playing Germans, Russians and watching games lol. Keep up the good videos! And congratulations on graduation, I’m graduating too so cheers! And I’d enjoy a blue on blue fight, it’ll definitely be less predictable (last two games were flukes of a new army). Actually I enjoy all your content so if you wanna put up a legion vid, please do, would enjoy a black seas (naval game) report because I’ve never played it, and I’d love to see that old Yamamoto fly the skies once more!
The German players hasn't nothing to do I think he got confused with the battle plan choosen defend vs these soviet list. Soviet has planes with at 10 with cannos or AT 5 vs 1 on top in Panthers ignoring short terrain, has a 9 IS 2 vs 3 Panther... the game is a fucking joke
Jake looks so much older in this video, like an Eastern Front General who has seen too much, haha. War with the soviets has aged him
this might be my new favorite favorite comment
So, who came for the East Front Late War goodness, but stayed on for the adorable gem of a man that is Jake?
This comment made Jake's day
This is the best comment on the channel, thanks!

Thanks! We are trying to improve our Battle Reports every time!
Very cool editing and action shots! I especially like the shot at the end where you panned over your victory, or rather Jakes defeat.

Thanks for the report! Those dice were horrible! Looking forward to next!
Great batrep, hard luck Jake
Did you guys ever do the Bagration river crossing scenario
thank you
Poor Jake get new dice. Jon as usual rolls so well
I enjoy these Games especially during the Pandemic and you have one of the better ones.
Thank you!
Great video! Poor Jake, the dice gods were not with him that game.
I never feel bad for the SS, but I feel bad for Jake and his dice rolls
Time to burn those dice Jake!
Great game, Jake what do you use for foliage on your armor?
Our Friend Jacob built these germans, I believe he used Silfor foliage.
Don't commanders always start on the table?
Great battle! Sorry that Jake had a tough game -- glad to see the Soviet horde get a win though!
Man, I was feeling sorry for Jake and his dice rolling! He was rolling exact.y like I do every time I play any game, ha,

what do you use for the camo netting on the 88s...?
you know, not sure. Those were build by our good friend Jacob.
Looks like cheese cloth you can get from the grocery store or craft store. It's what I use for my camo netting
don't think you can ambush with 88's...Large gun rule
You can ambush them however the large gun rule means they can never ambush within 16" of an enemy, even in cover.
How about trying out the 12th SS and use the Schnell Card.
For the 88’s, I would have considered dropping the ambush in the woods to the left flank of the IS-2 platoons
Great BR again! Jake please get new dice lol!

Try a tournament list
When does the Smoke come off?
end of German turn 2 I believe

All good points! Thanks!
Theres only one cealment for the panzerfaust

Do you have to range in when you get the planes in
I think only with bombs and rockets, but im not sure
Cannons are normal shooting roll to hit no range in
you have to range in with bombs/rockets as it has an artillery statline, but the guns are fired normally.
That rolling....ouch

Jake’s dice just hated him

Backman worth it.
Jake needs 4 88 mms, they only cost 10 pts for 4.
