The Hetzer was based on the Skoda 38 tank. The production lines were open, so the modified the thing and turned it into a useful tank destroyer with like 2,800 being made. It's a nice, cheap tank destroyer.
Finally the STG 44 showing up, thought they were part of the Waffen units. Also, no Tiger II's or Jadgpanther still disappointing. Thanks for the preview!
Nice video John. See the Stug image at 23:34, if these are yours, what have you used for the foliage on the vehicles. I used to use Army Painter Poison Ivy but they stopped producing it a few years ago (maybe too poisonous :) ) Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks and same to you! Those StuGs are built by our friend Jacob, I believe the foliage is from silfor but I don't know exactly what product. They have some good stuff.
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Awesome, thanks for the reply John. I'll check out Silfor and hope there's some somewhere in the UK :) Happy New Year when it arrives :)
I'm very interested in the Stug Assault Gun Battery and Escort Platoon. I am left with a bit of confusion on how many to preorder cause I don't know the point costs on them.
This should help! They give the points values of you scroll through to the 3rd section. nodicenoglory.com/2020/12/20/bagration-german-win-on-the-tabletop-but-still-lose-the-war/
@@TheTimeWillPassAnyways Thanks a ton. Looks like I can safely grab 8 stugs and 16 bases of support. Might leave me a few points left over for something to support the Double Stug Suicide rush!
Thanks for the video and run down of new stuff. Does the escort platoon in the StuG company have the ability to assault from the StuGs? That is the real upgrade for the soviets. Any infantry can ride tanks for free, 3 per tank, but they are subject to all fire the tank takes.
The main difference is that the Storm Grenadiers have MG42s(ROF 3/2) and the Grenadiers have MG42 & K98 rifle team (ROF 2/1) in the formation there are a few more options for the Storm
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall So Panzer Grenadiers which are MG42 teams should be the same as Storm teams the difference being the formations options, thanks.
One of the things I'm disappointed by with V4 of Flames of War is the genericness of the formations. Instead of another Panzer IV, Panzergrenadier, and Grenadier formation why not include a Pionier formation? With a Stormgrenadier formation and a Pionier formation they could have covered the 2 primary infantry lists the Bagration Germans had in V3. With formations already being rather generic and designed for mixing and matching across books throughout the whole of an era it would be nice to see more variety and flavor among the main formations rather than seeing it relegated to support choices. Also, I haven't been following Flames of War for the past couple years and hearing that the Jagdpanther still isn't in V4 even though the Germans were already fielding it against the British in Normandy is disappointing.
Awe yeah! gonna have to get this book! Quad AA guns vs infantry FTW!

Thank you great info here.
After watching your review I'm really excited to get my hands on this book! I've already got plans for at least three lists.

Great video. Any aircraft?
Just stukas

I really like the new anti tank units. They look nice, and make the german army more diverse in units.
@warminipainting, AK Interactive makes a good looking foliage

These look so good i regret having soviets
So would you consider this the replacement for Grey Wolf?
It seems to have at least two of the lists from Grey Wolf that I played in v3.
When is this book live? I preordered a bunch of stuff through battlefront and heard it was pushed back a month.
Don't know an exact date, sounds like BF is struggling with distributers.

Thanks! Yes, they can assault and shoot from the StuGs.
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall I may have to add this platoon to my StuGs.
6 SS Wespes for 14. 4 Pzwerfers for 16 or 6 Heer Wespes for 16 it's going

Nice video, sadly they dropped the ball on the Jagdpanther again
Let’s all try to pronounce one of mother Russia’s greatest warriors name in a correct manner .
I disagree, the lack of the Tiger 2's is a glaring oversight!
It's a marketing plan; you need to buy multiple books... Good books... but so many
