Happy Birthday Garrett 🙂 All the very best. I hope all your viewers realise the quality of your editing in these videos. The intermittence and balance between you onboard explaining what's going on and the panoramas to show us what you are experiencing is fantastic. Carry on.
Happy Birthday Garrett. No longer a teenager. I found that hard ! Thank you so much for showing us more beautiful places and I really enjoy these videos. You are a natural on camera. I wish you well on your incredible journey. Keep well and safe. James.
Your patrons are growing you’re getting better and better with your videos. I love when you were walking around we were actually kind of hearing the people talking in the background do more content like that more aerial content you will have many patrons love this video.
Bro! That sequence about midway through of your boat en route to Moorea/Huahine(?) wth the sparsely populated island and peaks is fantastic! Absolutely gorgeous scene, great music choice. Stunning. Bon vent! as they say in French Garrett, hope your travels continue to be so fulfilling and beautiful.
Reading “Dove” after you mentioned her. Can’t believe he just sideswiped a freighter in the pitch black. Guy is lucky to be alive, multiple times. Thanks!
Garrett's got me inspired too. About to head to the yard to do more refitting right now. Planning to head down the coast for the Carib from Lake Ontario on my Moody 34 if all goes well!
“Hooligan shenanigans”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 btw. no matter how durable you are(although it’s not you it’s bcs of your age your body can stay under extreme conditions FOR NOW) you HAVE TO EAT AND SLEEP. If you wanna do this forever you gotta take care of yourself. Great video, again. Cheers.
Lol@ thanks for watching 😂😂young bull aint trying to hear that shhhhhhh😂... he's young let him test the limits of his body allow him to break down and learn that's the only way the youngins will understand for them to go through it themselves
sailing is one of my biggest dreams. i’m 17 right now about to start my a-levels (uk exams lol) it’s refreshing knowing someone not that much older than me is doing it, well done and stay safe.
What a sad deal about Huahine! It's where we stayed the first time in Tahiti and had a great time. The locals were super friendly but that was 40 years ago.
I did 10 fiji years on my 30 footer at muskett cove. Surfing my brains out at namotu and Wilks. Tavarua was private back then. But namotu was not. I was allowed at tavarua but preferred to empty namotu waves in the 90s. Fiji people are awesome. Indian food is cheap and tasty. You're going to love fiji.
Done Muskett cove a couple times and used to know the Ozzie guys who rented Namotu ….I preferred surfing there to Tavarua …..only restaurants occasionally and Wilkes passage my fav. That was 27 years ago and maybe due a trip back
Was wonderful to see Moorea as you sailed past. Wife and I lived there for some time, we eventually moved to Martinique in the Caribbean but...... we dream and plan to move back.
Yes Garrett I been watching your content lately I quite enjoyed very beautifully presented bare love and respect keep up with the good work and stay safe.
Take the motor out of windlass...its easy to do. Good chance its a Nissan starter motor so in Papeete. Otherwise, its a motor and an alternator shop can rebuild. If it is a control box, theirs not much there either. You can take it apart and see the problem. Most problems with anything on a boat is the connections. If you used welding wires on your windlass, check for any holes or punctures in the insulation.
@garrettsadventure a new windlass of that size capacity is about 5k. You can rebuild it for 500. If you buy a new cheap like lewmar windlass..they are garbage, they don't build them like they used to yours is built like a tank, a windlass like that is very desirable. If you buy a new $1300 lewmar it will likely will be broken within a year.
Awesome video! My wife and I are always excited to see a new video drop. It’s been fun watching your adventure! We know nothing about sailing (even though my aunt owns Pedigree Cats Catamarans), but still love it. We’ve learned a few things from you, and cool to see the places you’re going. Amazing you’re doing this at your age! Bon voyage!
@@garrettsadventure yeah I could imagine you thinking the wind would down your drone? Me too bro. My first drone was the bulky GoPro KARMA which did hit the water and I lost everything. But GoPro ran an investigation into my flight log through Wi-Fi and they deemed it the drones fault and they sent me a brand new one. But I ended up selling it on Facebook marketplace and using some of the money to buy the DJI mini 2. DJI is actually a good drone and reliable, but I stopped flying any drone over water. Anyhow you have a good eye for the camera with music and shots who knows your videos can eventually become a sitcom down the road🙋♂️ Anyway i continue to watch anything sailing these days including movies. White squall my favorite teen movie, Master and Commanders and the Bounty with Mel Gibson. Looking forward to your next episode.
Hello Garrett, im from India and i love your videos, they’re really fun to watch and soothes my mind. A request if you could fulfil, could you please also maybe vlog throughout these places when you arrive, just like sharing your views as you hop off the boat and explore the city on foot. Just like you captured ordering coffee, but more on thr surrounding.
when you get to Bora Bora there is a wonderful nearby island, Maupiti, worth checking out. The inlet to the lagoon can be tricky but the place is really special, like going back in time.
@@garrettsadventure Be careful to watch the tides going through the inlet. The lagoon is very peaceful. you may be able to get use of a bicycle to explore the island. I sailed a fifty foot sloop there. Leaving was the only hard part. The ferry operator had was great help navigating. Hit a gale during the night passage back to Bora Bora. Excited for you. Vincent
You're inspiring me to live on a boat and go sailing. Wait, I already live on a Wauquiez Centurion 47! Well okay, you're inspiring me even more. Happy sailing to you!
We were in Huahine in February and it was incredible. Over by the Huahine Yacht Club there is a Michelin starred French pastry chef who sells ice cream he makes out of a little cart with the most amazing brown butter waffle bowls. Go track him down. It’s worth it. Love your videos!
Just recently came upon your awesome videos. Very relaxing to watch before i'm about to go out and work for the day. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. I really like to go to google maps and see exactly where your heading to. Have a kickass time brother. much love from Michigan
I ain’t telling you how to live big dog, but I’m thinking fresh lobster, fish or crab straight from the bowels of the ocean sounds way better than cat food 😅. I do enjoy seeing the views. I’m envious.
Hey Garrett! If you haven't left raiatea yet you MUST check out the coral garden snorkel near Le Tahaa resort off Tahaa. Which is right near raiatea. Itll blow your mind! There are moorings at the resort, I remember seeing sailboats tied up when we wjere there.
@@garrettsadventure I liked this. I feel like too much and it would change the vibe of the videos to be more I don’t know… produced? I like your current style where you show clips from the go pros on the ship and occasional transitions to the drones. It feels more like we’re going along with you that way and I enjoy it. But if you want more shots, I’m sure it would still be a fun video to watch
I hated those no-wind days too, but crossing the doldrums took me five days. I had fuel but no battery power to start the engine. -- and-- Google ahead to find out the name of someone who is mayor or governor of those village moorings. When you arrive, just say something like "I have to deliver an important message to (place name here)". You can make up a good story I'm Shure. Mike
Loving your videos brother, me and the dogs are doing the same thing on land for the next few years and then I'll be looking at buying a boat and doing the same thing you are. Good luck and keep the videos coming!
Man I wanna be chill like you , it’s always a “whatever “ attitude in a good way , love it

For real
Reading “Dove” after you mentioned her. Can’t believe he just sideswiped a freighter in the pitch black. Guy is lucky to be alive, multiple times. Thanks!
6:20 those aerial shots looked so serine and unreal, looks to majestic to be real. I am jealous.
Moorea is beautiful
Currently refitting my 29.9 cal to sail down to Caribbean from NC im 22. You’re a big inspiration for me man!
Garrett's got me inspired too. About to head to the yard to do more refitting right now. Planning to head down the coast for the Carib from Lake Ontario on my Moody 34 if all goes well!
Rather pleasing to see a young man increasing his sailing skills rather than wasting time on non essentials

I was fortunate to sail Baja 50 years ago after that built a 3o ft flush deck cutter and made 2 more trips with wife and 2 daughters
