MEDIA RELEASE: Armed Subject Barricaded Inside Home Arrested
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrest an armed subject who barricaded himself inside of his home.
The call for assistance came in at 11:41 a.m., Sunday. It was reported that there was a domestic dispute within the 9000 block of Hopewell Road. Patrol deputies responded to the scene and attempted to make contact with the subject. The subject immediately barricaded himself inside of the home. The subject was identified as fifty-three-year-old Ronny Guilmette of Macon. Guilmette had a warrant for his arrest and refused to exit the home, threatening to shoot deputies if entry was made. It was determined that Guilmette had a hostage, who he later released to deputies.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Members, Hostage Negotiators, and Investigators responded to the scene. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT members were able to remove Guilmette from the barricaded area. A firearm was recovered. Guilmette was treated for a minor injury on the scene by paramedics.
Ronny Guilmette was taken into custody at 2:40 p.m. and transferred to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. He was wanted in Houston County and Bibb County. His warrant was served.
