I can't believe the timing of this! I just read about Bintang supermarket & the coffee shop (am assuming Cafe Seminyak where you ended your vlog) burning down overnight. I wonder if you created the last Bintang vlog prior to it burning down.
@@BaliInsiderGuide Very cheeky Waz! Perhaps the Kiwi lady was actually there in the supermarket and thought she'd stop you from creating a Bintang supermarket vlog trilogy!
Yeah it's driving me nuts but I go to Carrefour or Mal Galleria which is nowhere near the old Bintang. www.google.com/maps/place/Transmart+Carrefour/@-8.7129708,115.1868972,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x698cd26bbd323d78?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjJiuzKw-vnAhUvwjgGHU2dDgcQ_BIwFnoECA0QCg
OMG it burnt down waz, can’t believe it..... sitting here admiring art work I bought from the coffee shop.... Cafe Seminyak...... I just say hey is that for sale and they say yes, everything is for sale in Bali.... you have possibly captured it in its last days.....
So bloody sad such an iconic place to visit in Bali... What supermarket is nearby that is as good as Bintang Waz? That would be handy to know for when we come over in March....
Yeah the Bintang market is a nice shop 👍🏼 . And upstairs they have some more things and tools for the kitchen as well ..And a very secured place , where you have to put your bag or helmet in a box before you go shopping.. the good thing about Bali is that you can drink and drive .. cheers 🍻
Bintang Supermarket reminds me of my father. I took him to Bali in 2018 and he liked this place a lot. I'm glad I was able to go on holidays with him one last time before he passed. Bintang Supermarket is a top place to stock up on supplies when in Bali. Should be on every travellers list of shops to at least check out for everyday needs.
So Sad to see the end of Bintang I too was there last night. Waz, I’m glad you were able to create the memory for us and hope that they will be able to build the new Bintang soon as I’m sure they will.
I'm going to Seminyak, in fact, I'm staying a 3-minute walk away from Bintang Supermarket, I'm going in 8 days, and am looking forward to it so much, thanks for the really helpful video, just a quick question, do they still do the $17 bottle of Australian wine?
Yeah I will at some stage. Might call it 'land available with staff'. Not to be flippant, I really do feel for the amazing staff there but perhaps they can get shifts in the Ubud one or other places?
Our favourite Bali supermarket, we were there on Wednesday. Those ladies in the Vlog were falling at your feet, Warren. No brunette goddess in a knitted green dress with a back decorated in ink, this time. Keep shopping!
They look to have a lot more available in there since I was last in Bali about 5 yrs ago ..... and definitely didn't have the cutie in the red top working there back then either !
I thought it was going to be the sequel to the New Zealand girl with the tattoo. But all you showed was sausages and cheese. I only eat Kraft blue box cheese, and Fritz
Yeah I know it was ridiculous. I had the camera in a cross body bag. So sorry. I was reticent to release it but was hoping the viewer might enjoy the fun. Good comment Nur. Thank you. W
Makes me sad to see all these plastic packagings and imported goods. Only for pleasing tourists that want to eat the stuff they get at home. And then the waste is dumped in the ocean. ;(
I prefer local markets when visiting other places. Much fresher and so interesting to see the variety! Love your other video from that local market, Waz!
@@katrinoswald864 Nice point Karen and I hear you but local markets use plastic bags exclusively whereas Bintang insist on you buying re-usable bags. As for packaging? That's world-wide: ua-cam.com/video/1y7nul6XBlc/v-deo.html
@@BaliInsiderGuide Yeah I mean, why would they want to import Italian olive oil and Norwegian salmon otherwise? But I didn't comment to offend you or your video. I enjoyed watching it! Just an observation of a worried and frustrated world citizen.
@@katrinoswald864 Yeah I didn't take it that way Karen. I must admit though, dodgy local canola oil (sold in plastic bags mostly) vs certified Australian virgin olive oil? :) W
RIP Bintang Supermarket!!!
From the ashes will rise another, even better, Bintang Supermarket.... hopefully.
Very happy To have lived in Bali, also very happy to have had the opportunity to work in Bali.bali is very interesting ❤️❤️👍👍

I know! What a shock. I'm thinking to go there but it could be a bit hectic today. W
what a shame to hear that Bintang Burned down yesterday. I have been here many times whilst living here .
How is it that two days after you post this, the place goes up in flames. So sad, feeling for all the staff displaced and locals affected.
Apparently it burnt down overnight!! Damn shame!
So bloody sad such an iconic place to visit in Bali... What supermarket is nearby that is as good as Bintang Waz? That would be handy to know for when we come over in March....
There really isn't. You'll need to cab it to 'Galael' 'Carrefour' or 'Mal Galleria'. and some others.
Waz....Did you hear Bintang Supermarket burnt down early this morning!!!!😱
I'm just hearing. What a shock! W
