Morning Mr TAYM, spot on as always. The little 350 will go anywhere, motorways are ok (but boring), A&B roads are sublime, unclassified up hill and down dale, with mud and grass down the middle are pure fun. The suspension is more than adequate to cope. The engine purring away beneath you. The exhaust playing sweet music. The smile per mile is priceless ! Then you mistakenly called him Bertie, just shows how at home you feel on him. Cheers.
I know, Bertie 😂😂😂 thanks Ian 😊
@@TAYM 😂
Great overview of the RE 350 Classic and you are so so correct about the connection between bike and rider. Love my 350 Classic. she’s a keeper! Go for it, treat yourself and ditch the passenger seat. They look much better with one seat so you can see the terrific form of the rear fender and the RE name.
😊 thanks QD 😊
Easy on the wallet , easy on the planet and good for mental health , what's not to like ?
Couldn’t have said it better 😊 thanks DS
Living in SoCal, we can ride most of the winters easily. This year, starting end of 2022, we had a ton of rain, so "Mary" sat under covers until two days ago. I took off the covers, did a quick detail, and put in the key. She started up after a fraction of a second! Amazing.
Took her out for a couple hours and had the best time (wearing my heated vest).
I've just never owned a bike that makes me so happy. If anyone is reading this, and you're on the fence, get one!
Ride Safe 🙏🏼
Thanks Scott, They are definitely a happy bike and that happiness is infectious 😊
So relaxing, thanks. I'm getting excited, spring is nearly here! I've got heated hand grips on 'Ruby', my RE 350 red and chrome, so I might be out sooner! Great mutter, great video. Go on, put a deposit down, I'm sure Mrs Mutter will approve, especially as she finds the pillion comfortable. You could easily hide it in your garage!👍😁
😂😂😂 thanks Peter, I could hide most things behind Biggles 😊😂😂😂
RE 350 classic it's a connection with History, the great historical facts of the XX century, so it`s the most important things related to this kind of motorc.,
Very true 😊 thank you 😊
Marvellous Meta Mutter Lesson One. "Don't need more than you've got". Spoken like the true metaphysical guru you is.
😊😂😂😂😂😂 thanks Tractor boy 😊😂😂😂
Thanks mr.TAYM for that enchanting video of your old favourite.I swear you had a tear in your eye.🏍️🏍️
Thanks BR 😊 I am a man so I never, my I eyes were simply watering from the cold wind 😂😂😂
You are right. The frame and suspention are soo good that you can stuck the 650 twin in and still would be ok. I've done naughty boy stuff on mine... Not slowing down for bad speed bumps for example. It take it like champ. And my roads are considerably worse then UK ones. The bike is made even for worse in India.. It's has go anywhere military machine dna. 🤩🤩
Absolutely 😊 thanks Stef
It is a tremendous bike, I have only managed 1000 miles on mine but it going to get well used this year. Your video summed up the bike very well and would like to add the suspension is in fact one of the highlights as it gives you full confidence on our lovely British roads ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks BW 😊 a truly wonderous bike😊
Great Video as usual....I'm totally smitten with Ernie my Classic 350 ..never fails to make me smile and THE best therapy for grey days 😃
Very true Willie, very true 😊
Another great video! You hit the nail on the head regarding the "magic" of a new Classic 350 and the current RE line of offerings. I purchased a 650 Interceptor early last spring... as I made the purchase, I saw a Halcyon Black 350 and the image never left my mind.... so, after a couple of months of dreaming of the Classic 350, I bought it. Put 3,200 miles on the 650 and 2,100 on the 350 before winter storage. Now, I am starting to fall for the look of the BSA... when does it end? I may need a 12 step program soon.
Bad news for you BN 😊 it doesn’t end 😂😂😂😂
It is the first retro bike that looks as good as the original 1961 model ( I had one back in the day) but with the benefit of better brakes and lights and is probably very much more reliable. It really does deserve to be called "marvellous".
Thanks DT 😊
Go for it! you should get it for a good price now it's a year old, and not even run it, you wont regret it.
I look longingly at mine in the shed every day, wont be able to ride for 3 months, as had a hip replacement a couple of weeks back, Really looking forward to the early summer sunshine.
Incidentally MOTO GB who were the until recently, importers of Royal Enfield are selling off all the RE accessories at really good prices at the moment . Just bought some engine bars to give me a bit more confidence when I can mount the bike again. As ever, thanks for another gentle relaxing video free of politics, conspiracy theories, and general rants!! ride safe 🦄
Thanks Pete 😊 that’s handy to know. Hope you get fit enough soon to get onboard 😊
Great review! I test rode one of these on Tuesday, just gone. What a brilliant bike on so many levels! Looks are so 50s/60s retro authentic in all areas, especially that gorgeous looking big single engine! On some other reviews I've heard negative comments about the handling, ride quality and brakes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the demo bike, I took out, performed perfectly in all those areas ...... no problems at all!! I'm actually interested in the new Hunter 350 but there are no demos near me, at the moment, so thought I'd get a feel for the engine/gearbox brakes etc on the Classic. Needless to say I'll be signing on the dotted line for a new Hunter in the next week ..... can't wait! Thanks for your videos, I've watched quite a few. 👍
Marvellous 😊 thank you and sorry for the late reply. For some reason your comment got held for review 🙄 weird this UA-cam business 😂😂😂
Nice one TAYM, I didn`t think I`d like that colour🤔 but the bike looks stunning on your walk round. Have a great weekend and a great week 👍
Thanks DR 😊
Marvellous ☺️ Coming from Ely, as I do, it's nice to catch a glimpse of Cambridgeshire. It's still deep winter here (Sweden) and there's no motorcycling much before May. I really want a Classic 350.
Thank you ARH 😊 they are marvellous bikes 😊
Enjoying your relaxed presentation TAYM, thanks. I too have a ‘Paddington’ (Harvey, 5 months old, 1600 miles) and agree with the others here, he looks and rides beautifully although since removing the cat and adding a DNA filter he likes to show off whenever he can and gets a bit carried away with himself, keen as he now is. I suppose he’s got top Nike trainers on now rather than hiking boots. 😁
I took him to a ‘Wendy’ house yesterday for a ride, mostly inspired by your enthusiasm for her. At first I couldn’t believe how badly she behaved turning in, especially at slow speeds, it was as though she wanted to fall over and have a tantrum; I literally had to turn the bars to hold her up, scary or what? So I took he back and asked the dealer to check the front tyre pressure; 24psi! Increased by 8 was she ticket so off out I went again and I have to say I’m seriously considering for a second bike although I will first try the Interceptor and Gold Star. Only points that disappointed me a bit were that even removing my ear plugs I couldn’t hear the pipes at all and the tyres are shockingly bad; rear twitching at times, no doubt it’s said to be more authentic retro. Got used to the vibes after 30mins, quite fun really but I’m not a tourer which is just as well I guess.
Yep, you have Wendy sussed alright 😂😂😂😂 she’s a card isn’t she.😂😂 even when full of air she likes to keep you guessing 😂😂😂 a very exciting ride and likes to keep it real 😂😂😂 on the noise bit, I know difficult to do when riding, but stand behind her😂😂😂 she does have a lovely voice that Kawasaki spent a fortune making 😂😂😂
Do you put her mischievous behaviour down to the boots she wears or is she fundamentally naughty? The extra 8 psi made a massive difference I thought and as I told the dealer, kept her on the list. I’m off to demo the BSA and Inter this week. The former will have to blow me away on the ride as the finish, especially the chrome on the tank is way short of my ‘Paddington’. Truth is, I’ve been offered the ‘Wendy’ for less than either of the other two which is fabulous as long as I prefer her of course. I only had an hour on her so are there any other things I should look out for or be aware of do you think? Appreciate your time TAYM😃👍🏻
@@simonwalker7957 I still haven’t changed the original tyres but I am pretty sure that they are 90% of the problem. In comparison to the other two, she is a quality lady. She is (based on stories from others) far more reliable, with much easier maintenance) than the interceptor (we will have to wait on the BSA) and has a far superior dealer network as back up. Having said that, there are far more extras and accessories available for the interceptor. Try getting pipes , luggage just about anything for her and you will find she is a difficult girl to buy for. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them but if you want speed and reliability, she’s your girl 😊
@@TAYM Thanks for the feedback, I’m sorely tempted. I had had in mind the Classic version with all the chrome, much like Harvey (Paddington) but maybe they would fight for my attention looking so similar (and wear out my polishing arm). I’m thinking the blacked out will just need jet washing and some hairspray (GT85) for good protection.
@@simonwalker7957 😂😂😂😂
Hey TAYM what a little stunner of a bike you know what !! I would have one as an ornament just to look at "but of course to ride as well '' they really are finished so well and as a bike to learn on just prefect I would think .Nice to see cone again he looked really impressed .😉It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Hunter in comparison to the classic , you need to do this TAYM even if only for your own piece of mind and I want to know as well 😁nice one at least the wind dried the roads a bit 👌👍
Thanks Crumb 😊 yes can’t wait to get on a Hunter 😊
Good to see you out on your old friend again. By the sound of your voice, I reckon you'll be gutted when he's sold.
Thanks IT 😊 it will be sad 😞
If I could afford to, I would have one tomorrow. Also, if I could afford to, I would buy Paddington for you tomorrow. But I guess we’ll all just have to do with what we have.
Thanks for another ride!

I just wanted to go on the road but the weather stopped us doing much !
Ah well the BSA Legacy is due anytime and I’ll be I Ireland for 2-3 weeks from next week working so I’ll have to wait and make a final decision when I get back towards deciding what colour or even which bike indeed 🤪
The weather given out snow ❄️ for next week bloody long winter this has been 😚😚

Fantastic little bike , just waiting for the roads to dry out a bit more here in glorious southern Austria, before mine comes out of hibernation , it really is a two wheeled ‘Chill pill ‘ and more than competent enough in the mountain twisties , , I managed to get 1200 miles on mine before winter hit , so looking forward to more this year
Thanks TH 😊 Good to know it can cut in those Austrian twisties 😊
You know my opinion with this bike. Having 12 hours to think, I guess I would need a garage, a light cover over bike, windex and a wipe at the end of the day, every time you ride! Not sure how windex would kill the paint, but the chrome will look nice.
😂😂😂😂
Great review as usual! Enjoying your mutters here in Ohio USA. I have this same bike and it’s a joy to ride and look at. Folks love to see it too! I hope Paddington ends up in your stable. 😎
Thanks Alan 😊
Marvellous motorbike, I keep thinking the Hunter 350 would be better for me, but then I see Paddington who looks splendiferous.
I know, I am the same🤔 the Hunter is a £1k cheaper 🤔😊
@@TAYM Paddington looks better, look forward to your views on the Hunter.
@@hughphillips1427 he does indeed 😊 can’t wait to try though 😊
I could not add anything to your commentary. I love mine too. Two more days and I'll be home and the temperature will hopefully be as forecast in the 60's F. NICE!!!! I'm also at the 1200 mile mark which completes the secondary break in period so I can finally open it up. Thanks for the video, always a great way to start my day 😃
Thanks JT 😊 good riding just round the corner 😊
Same on the ammeter 😅 always wanted one, maybe you could get one & show us how to fit to Bertie ?! Been looking on eBay for 2 years - just not seen the one that makes me want to hit “buy it now” !
Never thought of looking on eBay 🤔 thanks Stuart 😊

Very true, if the they were dogs my house would be full for sure 😂😂😂 thanks Phil
It sounds like Paddington has stolen your heart a little bit I wouldn't be surprised if Bertie doesn't get a little bit jealous if he hears you.
Bertie has too much confidence to be jealous 😊😂😂😂😂 thanks Mike
Cracking review Mr TAYM. Paddington is the ultimate feel good bike, what are you going to do when he comes up for sale, he's famous now. Ride safe and take care.
What can I do 😕 except make sure who ever buys him takes good care of him 😊 otherwise the giraffe will be round to sort them out 😂😂😂
I love mine it’s only covered about 750 miles so far 😊
Spring is nearly here, soon be 7500 miles 😊 thanks HS 😊
@@TAYM yes your right I’m itching to get out more I have ridden my Honda forza 350 twice this week 😊
I.m comparing it to bsa. It's got a centre stand. Less to tax and insure. Less to buy and more economical. Looks better in my eyes anyway. Air cooled. Simpler. When you have a few bikes less cost is a selling point. I like the bsa though. The monkey has no centre stand but I put a piece of wood under footpeg mount which lifts rear wheel for chain oil and cleaning. Bike is so light.
Marvellous and accurate comparison 😊 😂😂😂

My wife watches your videos with me and every time you ride Paddington she asks me why you don’t just buy him. I told her Paddington is your version of Gypsy, our neighbor’s Jack Russell terrier. She stays in their garage every night and then spends the day laying on her bed on the front porch. When we do our morning walks through the neighborhood, she runs out to greet us and after playing for awhile, she accompanies us on our walk, visiting the neighbors yards to do her business. She’s a great dog, never barking or snapping at people, and if she senses a neighbor’s dog being aggressive, she stays right with us in case things become dangerous. Her owners feed and bathe her, and if she needs a checkup they take her to the vet. She’s friends with the entire community and everyone loves her. Sounds like Paddington, who gets to play with you, and gets her food, shelter and maintenance at the shop.
Very good 😊 spot on 😂😂😂 love it 😊 sounds like a marvellous dog 😊
Good video! It would be great if you could test ride a Hunter and compare it to the Classic.
I agree, getting on one is proving difficult 😕 thanks 😊

3thrifty Paddington.
Isn't there a Meteor in that colour Super Nova I think 🤔.
I reckon you'd be better off waiting at least 6months before buying a BSA to see what owners say about them after that time. Also follow up service from BSA dealerships & watch reviews & see what aftermarket offers in way of exhausts & forks etc.
A few reviews say fork handling not as good as Interceptor/Gt & R.E forks aren't the best on the 650's adequate but better with Yss fork upgrade.
I thought there'd be BSA owners groups by now over there taking a awfully long time Super Meteor only weeks away & is of similar price & very premium by the look of it.
