    I heard it should "age "for 2-4 weeks for best flavor, if you can wait. I can't eat it but made it for my son. I had 2 jalapeño plants this year. Late fruiting but very prolific in August and still producing in late September. Made half a batch. Good recipe and instructions

    I love making cowboy candy. I definitely want to try it with the brown sugar and the garlic like you did. When I make mine I also do the small tricolored peppers and just add part of that in there and it gives it a really nice color especially for the holidays when I gift them. Can’t wait to try your recipe with the added goodness. 😀

    I made your recipe last year, and it is fabulous!!! The only thing I did different was to chop my jalapeño. I just bought more peppers this year and I am going to make more!! I gave a lot away last year and everyone raved about them. I make pulled pork and cover the pork butt with the cowboy candy then put in crockpot!! Delish!!! Thank you so much for this recipe!

    Such a wonderful video! I can’t wait to make these, I’m so excited 🥰 Just a few questions:
    1. How long can these be stored and would storing them in a cool, dark closet work?
    2. Do you have a written recipe for these?
    3. Would you need to boil the full jars longer if you use larger jars?
    Sorry, these are going to be my first attempt at canning and I don’t want to make anyone sick 🤕

    I wonder how " dark brown sugar " would be ? It's got an excellent taste and it's not as sweet as light brown. I use it in my chili to compete in cookoffs .Maybe more dark as a substitute for regular sugar ,the dark must have more mollases because it has a slight maple flavor .

    • @MilkAndHoneyAcreage
      @MilkAndHoneyAcreage  2 роки тому

      They shrink when the mixture gets too hot and most of the juices are evaporated out. You can fix that by not cooking it as long to keep more of the juice. It will be more runny and a tad less sweet but should still be great.

    • @MilkAndHoneyAcreage
      @MilkAndHoneyAcreage  3 роки тому +2

      We like really spicy food so we add cayenne pepper or Thai chili because it’s around 7x hotter than the jalapeño. Once you can the jalepeno it loses a lot of the heat in our experience. It’s really just up to you and your heat preference. Thanks for the comment.

    I was searching for a recipe that ensures the canned jalapenos stay crisp. Most recipes have you cook slices 15 minutes in the brine, then load into jars and then 10 minutes more in water canner. This makes them turn out as "mush"; horrible. How do you keep your jalapenos crispy???

    • @MilkAndHoneyAcreage
      @MilkAndHoneyAcreage  Рік тому

      You will probably have to use less sugar because the sugar really kicks up the heat which can over cook them. Mine don’t turn to mush at all though but they are not really like pickled jalapeños either.
