That’s the best speech given by a foreign dignitary in the us capital I’ve ever heard
agreed
I am Japanese. I hope that Americans will not be deceived like the Japanese. Unfortunately, Kishida is disliked by Japanese people because they call him a con man with good talking skills. His approval rating is hitting a new low every month.
Then you haven't heard much
@@user-nk8yp4tu4n That's the beauty of democracy, where you can express your dislike of your leader. Kishida may not appeal to Japanese with his internal affairs and policies, however, his foreign policies are admired and respected globally The main purpose of a president or a prime minister, is foremost to deal with foreign and international affairs. We can forgive them for not doing nearly as well for internal affairs and national issues. These leaders are only humans, not gods.
You are Japanese with conscience, telling the truth, thank you. The world is better because of people like you, not that con man.

Because he using prompter but good pronunciation👍 He should talk like this in Japan as well.
He is mostly reading a prepared speech from the teleprompter in front of him, It is less impressive than it seems.
I’m surprised to see him speak so eloquently in English too cos he only talks about his own tax evasion scandal and the justification of his party’s misconduct whenever he speaks in Japanese.

Wow - wasn’t afraid to tell the truth right in front of their faces. The best speech at the perfect time.
Very strong speech from the Japanese Prime Minister. Unapologetically touting the shared values between the United States and Japan, especially freedom, liberty and democracy, and upholding them not only in our respective countries but around the world. It is so refreshing to hear the leader of a major country speak so forthrightly about his deep belief and commitment in our shared values. I hope the leaders of our nation hear his message and continue to stand firm in support of our allies and other nations who share or aspire to these ideals. The United States will be more secure and the world will be a better place if we remember who we are as a people and the values that our country was founded upon. History has taught us that everything that’s worthy, including peace, needs to be defended and at times requires sacrifice. Let us not forget that in this troubling times. Lastly I am grateful that Japan has been such a close friend and great ally of the United States over last many decades. And sometimes it takes a true friend to tell us what we need to hear.

The greatest speech I have ever heard. Mist of his words had to be said by American politicians before.

Japan is an ally we can actually learn from. Let's face it, we are friends with a majority of countries that really have little to offer the US. But if you go to Japan, you can't help but say to yourself sometimes: "WHY can't America do this??"
Big words for a Country with Unlimited debt 😉
Japan is just one and only. The continent also formed our personality significantly.
Oh yes. One of the lowest fertility rates in the world because a majority of the population works over 70 hours a week to make less than what Americans make working 40. Sure if your a tourist it’s fine but the grass is always greener on the other side
@@wdwdwdwdwdwdw6616 Very fair. There are some things that definitely shouldn't be replicated. . such as, ah, the "work ethic" you cited. It's unhealthy.
But there are other things the US could definitely learn from. Like, our individuality and fierce independence are wonderful and all but we could stand to learn a little about their selflessness. . or rather putting the community above the self. Maybe not as far as them but certainly take it up a notch or five. A little commitment to community is not a bad thing. Understanding you have obligations as a part of a society is not a bad thing. That is partly why their streets are clean and public transportation and public facilities function so well.

If only the US Congress still had a backbone! From an outside perspective, the USA should be ashamed of their political parties and their recent inability to stand up for democracy in Ukraine, despite their generations long commitment to do so on the global stage. The USA is better than this, you can do more, especially as the largest benefactor of the post WW2 era, to this day!
The USA is still the defender of liberty in this world and even our most disloyal politicians cannot undo this commitment shard by the majority of the American people.

So impressive speech, Japan will stand with Ukraine.
And the US will stand with Japan.
I do not remember his exact words, but Ronald Regan once said that if the US does not stand up and protect democracy, there is no one else to take this role. We are the first and last line of defense against authoritarian and communism seeking to take away freedoms of people. It was nice to hear Japan recognize and voice their appreciation for the burden we carry to ensure peace and stability in the world. Make no mistake, if the US fails to ensure freedom for the world, we ourselves will lose our freedom.
