- PM Modi Speech US Congress: On June 22, while addressing a joint session of the US Congress in Washington DC, Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped lavish praises on Indian-origin US Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking at the US Congress, PM Modi talked about the Indian diaspora in the United States, and said," There are millions of people in the US who have roots in India and many of them sit in the US Congress.” Referring to VP Kamala Harris, PM Modi added that she had made history by becoming the first female vice president as well as the first African-American and first Asian-American vice president. On a lighter note, PM Modi said, "Samosa caucus is now the flavour of the House" and said he hoped that more Indian foods are included in the future.
