Is this stock? I’m about to buy one today it’s the vrx limited edition model it has an exhaust on it my mate wants to race me he has an fg falcon ute, I’m a Holden guy so I’m new to the Magna
Buy it dude, you won't be disappointed. I got a 2001 tj vrx. Very impressive for their age, Holden and ford had nothing in comparison to these at this time, even today they will give the sv6 and xr6 a run for their money. P.s I'm a Holden fan to. My good car is a non stock series 2 vf ssv
@@corycooper4494 Ay I own a 2001 vrx to ans The amount of commy drivers I’ve chopped is hilarious. They simply just don’t have as much torque as the Vrx weapons. Japanese models will always win
@@jye_24 They did have more torque at the time of launch, but the Magna's actually weighed alot less than the Falcon or Commodore at the time too. They had significantly better power to weight as a result.
@@nicholasconnolly4234 It's pretty easy to do, some Ralliart Magna's made 210kw due to different Cam's & compression ratio. It still weighed alot less than a Falcon or Commodore, so a 210kw NA V6 powered Ralliart Magna that weighs 200kg less would be impossible to beat for a Falcon or Commodore.
Radzaification Not necessarily, some of the NA 6G74 Ralliart Magna model's had 210kw stock due to different cams & increased compression ratio. Cheap & easy to do on the 6G74 motor for other Magna model's. They couldn't advertise them because they weren't emission compliant. The 3rd gen Magna's are lightweight at 1370kg on introduction, giving them exceptional power to weight for a NA V6. Autospeed tested a 210kw Ralliart Magna against a Subaru WRX STI in a 1000km test in a straight line, the 210kw Ralliart Magna killed the STI according to them. You can do the same upgrade with the 6G75 for a larger power boost, plus the 6G75 is a lighter motor.
@@brantleyfoster021 Not trying to be a dick, but do you have a source and backup information for the 210kw? I've just never heard of it before and would love to read/see the info behind it.
Radzaification I managed to print out this info & Autospeed's 1000km test with it. But the information is definitely on the AMC forum's. Back in 2001, 5 pre-production Ralliart Magna's were created. The ex-show car's were also converted to production with this 210kw setup too. These had 16 inch tyre's as 17 inch tyre's weren't introduced until 2002. They were lighter than the 2002 model's as they didn't get all the standard equipment they did. Overall about 1420kg with a flat tyre repair kit. They use the upgraded Doctor John's camshafts which provide more torque & power in the upper rev range instead of the ones in the 180kw version's. They sported a increased compression ratio of 10.1:1 so you have to run them on high octane. Mitsubishi didn't advertise that output because it's not a emission compliant setup, even though they mixed them in with the 180kw example's. 13sec range for these car's down the 1/4 mile. If you get a 180kw version, just upgrade it to 210kw & it should be the fastest NA V6 in the class to date & definitely when it came out back in 2001. Or buy a 210kw version. Tony: Yes, but their is examples that made 210kw at the flywheel that were mixed in with the 180kw examples.
I had 2 5spd magna's back in the day, loved them so much! Had no problem dishing out power and they do a mighty fine FWD burnout.
Really impressive power in the Magna
Yes they are. I got a 2001 tj vrx. Extremely impressive.

You going to work it?
I reckon this would give a my GT a good run. Hopefully i see you at the next downshift/brekky laps.
Underrated muscle car. The pearl white suits it.
the Mitsu 3.8 is an awesome motor. Oversquare and super rev happy compared to any other Aussie car with a 6.
The Aurion motor has great top end power😅.
Upload more of this, really keen to see how this turned out

Don't know if you've done it yet but over taking a commie or falcon driver in a magna is such a thrill when you see them trying to keep up
