@@The.FlyGuy Was it induced by your movements or was it about to happen but due to lack of active flying for 5-10 seconds you couldn't prevent it? I am always nervous to take out or adjust a camera
Cool, I'm flying the exactly same wing. Love it, have flown in the area as well. But I never had that strong collapses with it. Might be because I'm top loaded. Still, I have one photo that almost looks similar like that thumbnail here...😂
To be honest neither have I, and I suspect that's why it happened. The wing has so much passive safety(look at how it recovered itself!) I let my guard down. Flying around with my hands off the brakes was not clever, I accept that
Bonjour Frederic. In the opening scenes the camera is on a selfie stick and attached to the walking pole attachments of my harness. Later on I move it around quite a lot, but generally it's secured by pushing it between my hips/legs and the outside of the harness. I have it on a short tether so I don't have to worry about it falling. Thanks for asking!

Hi Ben, it's on a selfie stick which is tethered with some old brake line to my harness. I tend to move it around a bit throughout flight. My harness has hiking pole attachments in the back that I use for the shots behind my head. For the side/front shots I tend to just tuck it inside the harness and trap it between my hips and the harness. I'm not overly worried about it coming out of place or falling because it's tethered
@@BenBowler nice, enjoy. If you can tape over any gaps in the stick you will reduce the snag risk further. I've got tape around the top of the stick where it attaches to the camera to it can't snag on the bolt, as an example.
@@The.FlyGuy well, i looked at his videos after reading the comment... I expected something more as what I finally saw ... I loved this video btw, but maybe I'm biased because I'm flying the same setup and flown there XC ... And the memory of the strongest thermal I ever had (peaked 9m/s)

@@WuTangChillaBee I wouldn't say I'm more conscious 😂 I'd just say this flight was worth it. The learning point for this incident was not to release both hands when playing with cameras, that was inexcusable. If I had to answer why I did that? I'd been flying for over 4 hours, the last hour had been particularly hard going, I was drained, and I let my guard down. It was 100% my fault, and would have easily been avoided had I actually been flying
@@The.FlyGuy think same could have happened to me. I know this area quite well, have flown this exact route several times as well (both ways) and normally at this spot the air is quite calm, laminar and so an opportunity to eat, drink (or video). How were conditions the rest of the flight?
You guys are great, thanks for watching and thanks for all the feedback ✌️
Congrats on the flight. Thanks for sharing. And nice frontal collapse in full hd :p
Awesome video.
Love the cinematic style...
Did this flight today but along the Bargy & crossed over.

Awesome 👍
Very nice video :). After the collapse i just thought: good it's not a C or D glider ^^
Yup! It was dumb, entirely self-inflicted. I was playing with the camera and trying to take some video of mont blanc. Lesson learned

Lack of active flying, no excuses! It would have easily been prevented with a quick stab of the brakes had my hands actually been holding them 😂

Magnifique 👍🙂
Merci

I'd love to claim that this was some sort of editing mastery but it was just luck 😂
@@The.FlyGuy Often it`s best to just let it fly by itself, most times i`ve made things worse, with overcorrection/ wrong input. Nice flight :D

Woke me up too!
Very nice
Thank you!
Great vudeo - bet that collapse woke you up !
How did you get back to Annecy?
Flixbus to annecy direct and then hitched to Doussard. Very straight forward
Salut, images absolument magnifiques, beaux moments à partager merci ... Question tech tu as accroché ta cam 360 de quelle façon ?

What a great flight - but spoiled with 360° Cam, time lapse and digi Zoom, without would have been amazing.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate the feedback 🤟

Nice video ! Out of curiosity, did you use footage from another day for showing "La Tournette" around 2min25? Sky looks different :D !
請問這個起飛場在哪裡?超級漂亮的場地!
tres jolie qualité, le vol, la route, le video, la musique:-) quelle selette tu as ?

Where do you mount the 360?

Just because your camera can do all kinds of weird stuff, doesn't mean you need to use all of them. Really cool scenery though
Great example of why you should leave the camera at home. Your video isnt worth it... (but what is??) There was no "XC analysis" anyway... 🤔
Thanks for the feedback. Don't agree in this instance 👍 I rarely fly with a camera these days but this flight was worth it.
