Hike to the top of Mont Blanc in a single morning and flying down to Chamonix

- I could not resist and not to go there after seeing the weather forecast - zero wind up to 5500m altitude. But as it was already Saturday afternoon, booking and sleeping at refuges was no longer an option. Therefore I went for a direct ascent from Les Houches to the top. The effort was worth it - an epic flight down to the Chamonix.

For a moment I thought there was an insect trapped inside my monitor.
Same here... :D :D :D
This is like a mountaineering dream come true. You get to the top and say “fuck, I’m so tired and I have to go all the way back down. Wish I had a glider or some skis”
can this be done from k2?
@@MrTrdsmi I'm thinking that maybe the thinner air might affect its capacity of flying; in addition, being a much higher mountain the chances of crushing on the side of the mountain must be high, and also, it would be nearly impossible to find a day with such great weather that would allow this from the summit as it is usually quite windy. However, i am definitely no expert and It would be nice if somebody else replies.
@@MrTrdsmi JM Boivin did it from everest

That landscape from above was absolutely stunning. Well done and thanks for sharing!
Climbing up Mont Blanc is one thing but running and jumping off the top with a plastic sheet and some bits of string is another thing.off ya rocker 👍🤣🤣brilliant all the best, stay safe it’s a jungle out there 👍👍👍
crazy doing this in one day, that is what i call a fking fit guy :) respect
Fantastic, great video. On my bucket list :)
Niceee, what an epic adventure!! Some day...
incredible Sports Action!
EPIC flight! 👍😀❤️
I start wondering why I walked down.....
i always think about why they all go up and down again when iam rdy to launch towards the LZ xD
@@floriandraxler3868 oh, i can easily tell you... my wife :-) closed to any argument that this may even involve less risk than going down...
Cool, thanx mate
Epic adventure!
So beautiful! 😍🪂👊
Funking hell, what an ultimate ride...
Fantastique!
🎉❤ in a single morning?
Bravo, this is awesome 👍
extrordinary
07:57 check out the footprint trail where two climbers almost walked into a steep couloir it seems? They certainly didn’t ascend from that couloir.
Only way down 👍
congrats well done... magnific!
How long it takes you to hike from Les Houches to the top ? And the same question but how long it takes you to slid down ?
It's a good hike 20km 3500m of elevation (obv it depands where you start exactly you can go by train to 2400m making it "only" 10km / 2400m of elevation to the top)
@@maximephth sound great, which train you are referring? do you have GPX maybe of your track?
@@FlyingSalsero Most climbers take the Bellevue telecabine from Les Houches and then get the train to Nid d'Aigle, which is about 2,370m. You can however just schlep up from Les Houches (c.1000m) itself all the way. I did this a couple of weeks ago and had the whole mountain to myself until I came over the Col des Rognes and joined the main track up to Tete Rousse. Doing Les Houches to Mont Blanc in a oner is a serious undertaking though, especially with a paraglider on your back. Fair play to the OP, that is a big day out!
Now that’s how you descend after a tough ascent. I so need to learn this skill, this takes my blanc views to another level. Thanks for posting I’m very envious now.
Awesome!!!
Bravo
Did I get this right, you spread some of the ashes of a friend on the summit?
In any case: epic ascent, epic flight! Congratulations and respect!
Bravo! Браво!
Hey! You land like I do haha! Thanks for posting your flight, that was amazing!
Dream flight
How long was the flight ?
Approximately 40 min. But another time when I landed at Passy and was flying a C wing the glide lasted 1 hour.
Wow! When you said you were flying down to Chamonix I thought you meant by helicopter 🤣
what kind of rescue is that?
Vey samll!!!!
What was the size of your wing please ?
Hi! It is the 18m2. But any smaller wing works just fine as well.
@@ov104 awesome ! thanks for the super quick reply !
Beautiful !
Очень захватывающе!
Beautiful landscape. Looks like good fun.
Living the dream there. Thanks for sharing
Sehr schön🖖
What a fly ! Whaou ! 😍😊👍

Amazing trip … you take my breath with that flight …
le paysage est beau mais ta façon de filmer au secours !

Absolute magical! Martins - got question to you, in 0:48 you got some loop on your pickax, I need to do something similar for my pickax, can you tell me how to do something like this? Thanks and greets
Hi! The yellow leash is already a part of the ice axe (grivel), but I simply connected it with a piece of rope attached to the harness by a simple connector, in order not to loose it, or to secure myself when necessary. If yours does not have a leash, you can make it from any 6-8mm piece of rope, and fix it in the hole typically between the head and the shaft.
@@ov104 Perfect! I Will use your idea for sure, because our health and lifes are everything! Man you are such inspiring dude and you doing amazing things. I wanna to fly over Mont Blanc Massive in the future - can you tell me or some direct me how can I start? Where I can go to learn and read informations about that sports? This is Amazing!!!
@@RuudvanNistelrooy2006 I think the most logical step towards flying from high mountains would be completing a basic paragliding course. Once you have the basic skills to take off and land safely, you can get a light gear, and start building up your own knowledge and experience by joining expeditions together with other more experienced pilots. It is better not to be in a big hurry, and master the experience step by step. Being able to judge the weather conditions and forecasts is another big science absolutely essential for the pilots. I wish you motivation and success, and i'm quite sure you will love it! ;)
@@ov104 Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm sure that I will do the course as fast as I can, everything depends on money you know, but I will do it for sure. Thank you once again, keep inspiring and keep doing amazing things.
Btw: I saw you were in my country in Hel, I recommend you to visit the rest of Poland, mostly Tatra mountains on our southern part, you would love the views!
Outstanding!

I thought launching is not allowed anymore
It is prohibited from 1st July until 31st August on the French side (but you can always fly on Italian side). But out of that period it is allowed.
Do you know why there's this prohibited period?
It is the most popular period for climbing, and unfortunately also incidents happen, and paragliders flying in the area disturb or may even inhibit the rescue operations by helicopter.
@@iacamigevaerd376 many people used the thermals to start low and topland on the summit, a few people died because of bad acclimatization and gear
@@rnkks3752 I don't get what the mountain had to do with it, since you could get high and with just the thermals. Anyway, I had no idea how big of a thing paragliding on the Alps was. I guess it's crawded, huh?
C'est bien pepito
Невероятно круто 👍 !

Man, your hands belong on the brakes not your phone. And lousy landing, against all rules. You jeopardize others with it. Nice wheather though!
