Hi Kristi!! I love this cup and have since when you first posted it!! So, I’ve finally made my cup…well almost. I made a pen last year but I cannot for the life of me remember if I am supposed to seal with clear spray paint the chunky before adding the second layer/or first layer over the chunkies
How am I just now seeing this question?! I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I find it best to spray sealant over chunky glitter because it helps prevent the chunky glitter from repelling the epoxy.
beautiful, cup one most great video i see for people r learning too
Thanks so much 😊
@@KristisCustomCreations your welcome :)
I think this is my first time watching a video of urs and I will have to say very clean and every detail included. 👍

Amazing
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! Your cups are so beautiful! Also did you let the epoxy dry at all before you added the chunky glitter?
I add the chunky glitter immediately after adding the epoxy :)
Where have you been Kristi? I miss your tutorials ♥️
I needed to take a break for a little while, I got pretty burned out. I just posted my first tutorial in a very long time so I am back! Thank you for checking in on me. 🥰😘
Can you please list the name of purple brush you used for the tackit? Thank you 😊
Would the glitter that goes on the tack it be considered an eco glitter?
beautiful!! if I use a smaller brush think 6 colors will be good?? also will spray paint do the same or acrylic paint is a must?
Yes I think a smaller brush with 6 colors would be good. Spray paint would work the same as acrylic paint but acrylic paint is easier to control and blend than the spray paint is.
I just love this cup and the pen that you made, I tried to look for that opalina glitter on that website but it's doesn't show up, is their anything else that I could use to replace that glitter to make this cup and the pen?
Yes! On my website, Kccglitter.com I have a beautiful white called Unicorn Dreams that you can use for this 🥰
@@KristisCustomCreations ok thanks
I would love a cup.
Are those Silicone Mats on your work surface? I got the Harbor Freight with the lights. Couple years ago a wife had bought. Her husband was kind to help her put it together the wire it up. However it did not have the light kit, but one outlet.
This so so cute!!!! How do you keep debris from settling in the epoxy as they turn & dry?
I don't run the ceiling fan, I don't vacuum or do anything that could cause want kind of debris to be in the air. Also, putting a Rubbermaid container or something over your cups while they spin helps as well. 😊
@@KristisCustomCreations Great tips and thank you! We have 2 dogs and the battle is endless, lol. :)

@@KristisCustomCreations I had no clue about drying flowers in silica gel or even drying them in the microwave until I started watching her channel. She actually preserved her wedding bouquet and put it in resin 🥰♥️
@@Shadingoftheheart that's awesome!!!!! I didn't know you could do that either!
Hi not made anything yet just trying to learn. Love your videos. At which stage would you add a name? Would you use vinyl as a stencil or leave it on?
I would add a name after the Epoxy over the glitter is completely smooth (usually takes 2 coats over the glitter) then I would add a name with vinyl. I would leave the vinyl on and seal it in with another coat of Epoxy so that it won't come off. I actually did that with this Tumbler after I made this video, someone purchased it and I added her name to it.
So sooo beautiful!! I will have to try this...
Quick question: I know you don’t sell these anymore but what happens to all the cups you make for your videos?
Most of the cups that I make for my videos are actually customer orders but if I do make one for video that's not an order, I either sell it or do a giveaway on it. 🥰
And I do still sell them but I'm not currently taking orders until March 6th because I'm so overbooked right now with orders for different pens and tumblers.
can i buy one from you, im soo in love with the look of this and i havent attempted trying to make these yet
I'm not taking any new orders for a couple of weeks but when I do start taking orders again, I will post in on my Facebook page :) facebook.com/kristicustomcreations
I'm in the process of making this right now.. fingers crossed
You've got this! 😉 I'd love to see how it turns out!!! Btw... Your UA-cam name has me cracking up 🤣
@@KristisCustomCreations so Im almost done with mine. My colors not so bright and popping but I think it came out well for my first time. Mahalo for your tutorials. Your awesome!
@@deeznuts_808 you're very welcome!!! I'd love to see how it turned out if you would like to post it in the Facebook group! 🥰 If you do post it, please tag me (Kristi Leigh).
I would love to know how but I don't think I can make cups. May I ask why you paint the Ink pens? Thank you WOW, That cup is gorgeous.
I paint the pens first because it helps the glitter be a bit brighter and I use less glitter that way. If I don't paint them then sometimes the pen shows under the glitter or multiple layers of glitter have to be used.
@@KristisCustomCreations ok, Thank you
hi there, thank you, gorgeous cup, can you put the link for that opalina and that chunky that you used? Its not glitterbae and I looked up bjglitter and can't even find the site. Thanks again Amy

@@amyaustin513 you're very welcome!
Loving your video, can't wait to try mine .
Quick question , is there any prep to the cup before using the acrylic paint 🎨. And when u purchased the cup was it already white. .
The cup was a normal stainless steel cup when I started. I sanded it and spray painted it white with Rust-oleum 2x white spray paint. Once that way dry, it was ready to put the acrylic paint on it. I hope that answers your question 🥰
Thank you
Can I use a clear cup and paint it with white acrylic.
@@SAsanchez86 I'm not sure. I do this on a stainless steel tumbler. I don't believe that epoxy is recommended to be used on plastic cups
Opalina glitter I can't find buy that so where???
Bee Jays glitter closed down a few months ago. I have a glitter that is very similar called Salty Kisses. It's at kccglitter.com
Quick question. Instead of using the tack it method could I use midge lodge it is what I have on hand and was just curious if you think it would work the same or close to the same.
Or would Walmart brand tacky glue work?
I haven't tried it with modge podge instead of tack it but modge podge will dry and isn't sticky once it dries like tack it is. You want it to stay sticky like tack it so that the glitter will lay down when you run your hand over it. I'm not sure about a walmart brand glue either.
I’m a tumbler wholesaler in china we are having hot selling 20oz sublimation skinny tumbler or straight tumbler the moq is 50pcs and the packing is white box the delivery time in general is 30-45 day.
Thank you
How long do you let the tack it dry before adding the glitter?
I let it dry for approximately 20-30 mins
How are you protecting the inside rim of the cup?
I clean it up afterwards but I really don't get anything except a small amount of spray paint inside. I have an earlier video that shows how I clean up the inside rims of my cups. 😊
Every time I try to spray paint a tumbler I end up having drip marks. How do I correct this? Am I spraying too close to the tumbler maybe?
Yes, you are probably spraying too close. It also helps a lot to spray in small bursts. 😊
do you have to spray paint the tumbler? or can you use a colored tumbler? Do you have to epoxy the tumbler?
You can use a colored tumbler, I have epoxied over colored tumblers numerous times. I would recommend putting epoxy over it because you need to seal the glitter in.
Do you have another chunky glitter suggestion? Crystal baller is no longer available it says! I would love to try this.
I have one on my new website www.kccglitter.com that is perfect for it... It's called Opal Blizzard 😊
So beautiful ! I saw her video a few days ago and am going to try and make one too 😬🤞🏽. Quick question...is there any particular reason you use flat spray paint instead of glossy ? Just curious.
Flat dries A LOT faster than glossy. I've never tried the tack-it method on glossy paint but I would assume that it would probably work the same.
@@KristisCustomCreations you are so knowledgeable...can you come tutor me 😬🤣😅!!!!!!!!! BTW...tack-it method is one of my faves !!!!! And I just ordered Opalina 😬🤩! It’s so gorgeous !!!!!!!
@@customdesignsbydae2420 It's seriously awesome! It's comparable to Fluffer from Berry Humble which isn't available anymore! It would be awesome to have a local crafting buddy.. I'm in the Northwest Florida area.
@@KristisCustomCreations where in Florida are you? I’m in Gainesville.
@@victoriadeyot9321 I'm in the Pensacola area.. so you are about 6 hours from me.
Would Mod Podge work the same as the tacky glue?
It would adhere the glitter to the cup but the reason that you use the tacky glue is because it remains tacky which allows a thin layer of the glitter to lay completely flat. You could try it and get somewhat of a similar look but it won't be exact.
Does the glitter have to be iridescent? Out of all the glitter I have I don't have any iridescent.
I would recommend that your main glitter be iridescent because you want that rainbow / unicorn look to show through the glitter. The chunky glitter that you add to it doesn't have to be iridescent but you don't want it to hide that rainbow look either.
Can u rub any glitter or it has to b a special glitter
You can use any type of iridescent white colored glitter. My favorite white to use on this type of Tumbler these days is called unicorn dreams and I have it on my website. Www.kccglitter.com
But like I said, most iridescent whites will work for this but they will all look slightly different from each other.
Hi: whats is the name of the tools that you use for brake de bulb in the thumbler after you put the resine. thanks.
I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are asking.
Hi, I think it's a blow torch.
@@styfsan thank you 🥰
Why do you use tack it instead of epoxy? I’m new to this so I’m trying to do new things :)
Using tack it creates a whole different look. It basically makes the glitter lay down flat and it's super awesome looking. I use the epoxy method 95% of the time but I do use the tack it method if I am going for that certain look. The tack it method is great for holographic glitters. I actually recently posted a tutorial showing how holographic glitters look on a cup with the tack it method.
Where did you get your turner?
My husband built it for me. Here is my video about my turner 😉 ua-cam.com/video/8H04Kb47pYg/v-deo.html
For some reason, my acrylic paint is coming off tumbler when i try to blend. Any idea why???
@Lori Kile not sure if this is helpful or a little late but I noticed that as well the very first time I made a pen with this design. I think it’s the matte acrylics drying so fast and if your brush is dry or too wet than it will drag the paints. So maybe work in groups. So do the first 3 primary’s (blue, yellow, pink) then take your blue brush and your choice of what color you want pink or yellow and mix it into a piece of parchment paper or paper plate-it doesn’t matter just whatever you squirted you paint on and from that area with the 2 colors blended go in between the colors you mixed. (Example: blue + pink = purple so you would go in between the blue and pink; etc) I hope that helps. Oh yeah- you could try satin. I ended up putting some glossy just in my blue but that was to lighten it up since it was a bit dark and I wasn’t making purple I was making like a royal purple blue. Lol
Where do u order the tumbler poxy epoxy
Their website is www.tumblerpoxy com 😊
Did u mix the Tack it with water, sorry couldn't tell.
Yes, I mixed a 50:50 water and tack it
Thank you.
@@Runt you're welcome!
Beautiful
What chunky glitter is that and from where?
Thank you!!!
The chunky glitter is called Crystal Baller and it is from Berry Humble Glitter at www.berryhumble.com
Why do you need to layers of tack it?
I just wanted to make sure that I had super good coverage with the tack it. You could probably do just one layer and be fine. :)
Do you think you could use modpodge instead of tack it?
I haven't tried it with modge podge instead of tack it but modge podge will dry and isn't sticky once it dries like tack it is. You want it to stay sticky like tack it so that the glitter will lay down when you run your hand over it.
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you for your response!! Love all your videos!
@@kkc-ho7yr you are very welcome! 🥰
@@KristisCustomCreations sorry, one more question, do you think spray adhesive could work the same as tack it? My local craft store doesn’t have tack it right now :( I ordered from Amazon, but it won’t be here until next week and I’m anxious to finish this cup:)
@@kkc-ho7yr LOL! I get it I get anxious about crafts too. The adhesive that you use for the tack it method would need to stay sticky. I'm just not sure if a spray adhesive would work either. Thankfully Amazon ships pretty quickly! LOL
Bjs glitter can’t find it
beejaysglitter.com/
What's the point in putting the first tacky method letting get semi dry then you add another and let completely dry? I don't understand that part.
Both times I applied tack it to the cup, I let it completely dry tack it always remains sticky even after it's dry. I applied two coats of it to make sure that it had a good thick coating on there before I applied the glitter. I guess it's kind of hard to explain but it never dries to the point where it isn't sticky, it always stays sticky. I hope that explains it a little bit better.
I want to learn how to do the tumblers
They are so much fun to make 😊
Once you get started it’s addicting
@@customTumblers yes it is!!!
Can you use tacky glue or mod podge?
I'm not sure. Tack it stays sticky, that's why it works best for this method.
I can't find tack it in the stores. I guess I will order online
@@090857sps yeah, I just purchased mine on Amazon. 🤷🏼♀️
@@KristisCustomCreations I did do one cup using mod podge and it came out very pretty but it is harder to achieve the intended result.
@@090857sps thank you for letting me know! I'm sure it was harder because the mod podge doesn't stay tacky like the tack it does.

@@KristisCustomCreations thank you. I want to make one so badly. Where did you get the PVC, football and tumbler? If you don't mind once I get the items can I get back with you to guide me thru.
@@annthomas2 I don't mind at all! The footballs come from the Dollar tree, the PVC is 3/4 in PVC pipe and we glue the football to the PVC using gorilla glue. @@annthomas2 I use the PVC because it attaches to my cup Turner. I'll try to get my Turner tutorial up ASAP that shows exactly how to make them. I purchased my tumblers from MakersFlow but you can but the Ozark brand at Walmart.
