The n64 was the epicenter of my childhood with my friends…Mario kart, smash bros, goldeneye, the list goes on. That was a fantastic system with so many memorable games.
Mario Kart 64 "No Trophy for You!" is clearly one of the most haunting experiences that I've ever had in my lifetime. It's a sort of thing that forces me not to lose a _single_ Grand Prix. Like, if I lose, *something horrible will happen.*
The music is like: You are on a party. Everybody is happy but you are not. You are seeing everyone laughing and having fun and you don't feel alright. This music could be a soundtrack of this feeling.
I decided to play this when I was running late to work... I made it just in time I also work grave shift so the banshee boardwalk was perfect on my way there hahaha
Hack your brain: 1. Think about what you have to do that you've been putting off. 2. Set a timer for 48:40 minutes. 3. Put this music on. 4. If you don't get it done, you will face the defeat of "No Trophy For You!"
Holy damn....I forgot how much I love this soundtrack! I was 6 when this game was released, and it was/is an integral part of my childhood. Thank you for this!
38:38 this losing music really hit me hard as a kid. Sometimes I would just sit there listening to this staring at the screen making me wonder how I lost, especially if I was in a winning position.
When I was a kid, my friend tricked me into thinking that Bowser used to actually be a man but was turned into a dragon by a witch and you can see his transformation as you drive past the portraits in his castle. Obviously it wasn't true but I spent many races deliberately slowing down my kart at that point so I could see it for myself.
My favorite thing about Mario Kart 64 is its one of the few games I can think of where you get mocked for almost winning. (Getting 4th place in total results in the no trophy for you soundtrack playing and you drive off into the background and get blown up lmao)
As a kid, my uncle bet me $100 that I couldn't beat the course ghost on Mario Raceway... 3 turbo boosts across the grass later, and I'm still waiting for that money!
Until last year, around August or September 2021, I had no idea there was even credits for Mario Kart 64, so hearing Victory lap for the first time the... It almost made me and now it makes me cry thinking of all the good memories I had to august to mid November. Beautiful, beautiful composed track. Out of every amazing track from this game, Victory Lap is easily my favorite. It erupts so much strong emotions everytime. One of the best, if not the best credits after finishing the game, if not the best.
Bro I remember playing the game with my cousin and when we were playing the Star cup and Royal Raceway came up, he was always screaming "Oh crap!" Because he was constantly falling in the water due to a slope before the ending. When that happened, he always closed the game and opened Goldeneye, which was his favourite game. Good times
The only games I played were Turok, Mortal Kombat, Mario 64 and bad fur day. I think I was in 1st grade and the gameboy advance was coming out in a year because I remember that I asked my parents for one for Christmas.
In this game, Bowser Castle was the penultimate track so it wasn't that bad. In MKW, this was the last track and it was a very weird and creepy track to end off of
Acá llegan mis mejores años de mi vida fueron incomparables la era del atary nintendo super nintendo sega nintendo 64 play. Play 1 el 2 y así sucesivamente que feliz fuimos banda 🤘🤪
Love the soundtrack, and of course, I appreciate you putting them all up here, but what's the logic behind the ordering here? Is it a purely musical "I think these follow nicely from each other" decision, or something else? (And also, the complete lack of a gap between the different tracks is a little distracting, but eh, not a massive problem)
They need to rerelease these games on the Nintendo 3ds/xl like they did the N64 Zelda games. It’s the only console I have time for as an adult these days 😢😞

Let me introduce you
To DS Bowser's Castle
Which has STILL not been remade!
So many nights playing this game with my dad before bed. The best times.
How precious :) always cherish those memories with your father 😃
This soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece.
The audio quality here is 👌👌😩 Thank you for sharing this epic soundtrack
20:56 sick 11/8 time signature
Japanese games back in the day had a lot of that. Theres a song in OoT that i think in something stupid like 23/16
I can’t follow the tempo omg 😂
It’s like a Tool song
Our generation remembers every note and can jam to these childhood tunes.
Yes.
Such an amazing soundtrack, especially for the time.
What, whoa, why don't I remember that Win Screen secret? Neat!
what is the secret nobody told me i and i can figure it out

Lo mejor de todo es que cuando escuchas esto te acuerdas de todos esos momentos que vivistes y pasastes jugando todos los juegos de la n64.
Cuando éramos felices y no lo sabíamos 😔
I like how classic mario karts have all the racers riding the pipe frame
Is it in MK8?
@PyroMantic Good
It wouldn't be until 2011, 10 yrs after MKSC, that the Pipe Frame made a comeback as a customization option in MK7
......34:38min Toad's Turnpike is a huge melody, special the beginning !!!
My best memories are of me and my mom playing on Rainbow Road every day. She sucked at it, but she did it for me and I loved every second of it.
I thought this was going to be relaxing, but it just makes me tense, just like when i was playing the game in the 90's against friends and family.
38:38 this losing music really hit me hard as a kid. Sometimes I would just sit there listening to this staring at the screen making me wonder how I lost, especially if I was in a winning position.
Best 4 player game ever.
Toad's turnpike gives the freakin chills homie
Best Mario Kart ever!!! Such lovely times! ⭐️✨♥️
I still think of this as “New Mario Kart” because I only really ever played the SNES one and this one…but I played them a lot. Like a lot.
I dunno why but Rainbow Road and Victory Lap gets me emotional every time

Bowser is Satan, the dragon. Mario also represents the Anti-Christ. Long story.

Dude, all the memories 😢.
One of my favorite Mario Karts, despite the atrocious rubberband AI. The music never fails to be awesome. Nostalgia.

Wario Stadium remains the only track of the 16 tracks from Mario Kart 64 that hasn't been remade as a retro track yet.
Racing people on the highway with this blasting on your speakers, windows down.
