Very informative videos, and very well explained, Bazza. I think it is possible to make this from an old outboard engine gearbox. Then you get reverse also. Cheers from Norway
Hey thanks for making this video. I'm in the USA do you know where I can find replacement gears and bearings to do a rebuild. The unit I have is in very poor condition. Thanks in advance.
Gazza, I’m trying to rebuild one of these, I can get a rebuild bearing kit off Trademe. On the output shaft the bevel gear fell off like your bench thump, but the inner bearing is still stuck in the housing, thumping won’t get it to drop out like yours did. So can I just pound on the output shaft down and out or is there another circlip holding it in ??
Super useful and also very rare to find a video like this thank you so much, will I be able to put 18 horsepower through a mower if I use this method you have done?
Hey man ive been having a look around and have not been able to find a t drive or right angle gearbox for a reasonable price any chance you could point me in the right direction, thanks

Bazza, does it matter if either shaft becomes the driven shaft (opposite to what this one is used) , I might have a few more questions for you soon - Tiny -
This really help with the decision on how to set up my mower thank you 💪

I think you mower shop should be able to get parts.
What RPMs are you running through them with oil rather than grease?
I have never had one fail so far unsure how fast they could go .

Can you add a photo as I don't quite follow which bearing you are talking about.
It’s OK, I removed the big dia circlip under the seal on the output shaft and then was able to extract everything. Cheers.

Yes you can!
@@bazzasgarage1922 thank you! Also was going to ask if I can run any type of gear oil if it’s high synthetic or does it have to be a certain type
@zykotic6649 I recommend a EP 90 oil as if the seals or shafts are worn it may not leak .
ive never had one of those peerless 1000 do they hold up to abuse like clutch dumps and things
I have not had a problem and i have run them for a few years.

@@bazzasgarage1922 Hi, I'm located in NZ do you have any sources for getting peerless right angle gear boxes?
@corbanwoods2254 No sorry right angle drives new are about $600. I know a contact for T drives like what I put in the kingkat build.
👍👍👍

I dont think so , you would have to check the lubrication of the bearings if you changed orentation.

They are fitted to walker mower decks. You may be able to find on an old mower deck.
