David Warren thought it was Victoria Williams... they’ve made this song their own though. That battle with Mike and Boooooooooooooom was bonkers! This may be my favorite live version.
My favorite band growing up. Now they are exhausting. They made 3 records too many. I like Crazy Mary but not one of my favs. It's ok. So I guess Im not a true fan according to this asshat.
@@travzimmerman1340 geez harsh man. It was just my dramatic way of saying I love the song. I’m a theatre kid at heart. Obviously nobody can tell another person if they’re a fan or not. Be kind ✌🏼
Eddie and the rest of pearl jam are currently under watch of the rock gods. They will see Pearl Jam has enough time to influence generation after generation.
I estimate I watch this particular video at least 3 times a week, sometime way more, depending on the days I am having. Never tire of Eddie’s incredible singing and stage presence, and of course the best Gaspar & McCready duel that I’ve seen on this song.
Um,no,that's Chris Cornell of Soundgarden,Temple of the Dog and Audioslave...Eddie's voice is depressing and all the songs sound the same,Ten was good, but since then it's all boring shiite
Una voce che ti accarezza il cuore con la grinta la rabbia di chi ha vissuto e vive a denti stretti...mi avete salvata tante volte con la vostra musica...solo i Pearl jam
When I hear this song I cant but think about all of my childhood friends that all have passed, far to young. Take a bottle pass it around. I miss you all, RIP
They are unbelievable live. I saw them right after "Ten" came out and then again last time they were in Vancouver (I took my kids). Just gets better. I actually cried last concert - it was that good.
@zandrokos I saw them in Eastern Creek Sydney AUS in 1995. I'm going to see them again in Auckland, New Zealand, this November with my adult daughter's boyfriend. BTW I'll be 60.
The death of Chis shock me and bothers me to this day. Back in in 2008 I went through a very painful divorce lossing everything that I loved and his music and lyrics carried me. His death still bothers me. RIP
This is not my favourite Pearl Jam song, but it is one of my favourites to see live. I'm an Australian who has seen them three times when they have come to Brisbane, and I still remember this song as one of my highlights. The duelling keyboard and guitar at the end is awesome, you can feel the energy.
I remember watching it live in south Brazil in 2005, it was unforgettable 11 minutes crazy mary, that night also was even more special cos Marky Ramone came up to the stage to play I believe in miracles. It was Matt Cameron’s birthday as well. I was 16. What a night!
I saw Pearl Jam and Tom Petty in Milwaukee, WI. Pearl Jam was opening up for them. I've seen ALOT of concerts in my time, but those two on the same bill was just...well amazing. Everyone knew the words to every song. I love it when Ed Vedder gives the crowd a chance to sing, and just let the audience feel the vibrations of the instruments.
I have my youngest son, rock climber Jim Reynolds, for introducing me to Pearl Jam. During the early 90's I was busy raising 3 kids w/ my hubby and we were very unplugged. When I finally discovered them in 2013 I was mesmerized and completely intrigued. Their music, talent, dedication to justice and endurance as a band is unbelievable. And yes, I might be a little Crazy Mary, too.
Every time I'm more convinced that music is the God everybody wants to find. Relives the soul and give you peace. The one we all need to be a better world.
Always been a fan of Pearl Jam, but now I'm digging into their live stuff thanks to youtube and man, there's a whole other PJ world out here! This must be the best thing I've heard... ever! And there's much more digging to be done :-)
Never thought my fav bands for the last 45 years of, The Who, The Stones, The Allman Brothers would ever be supplanted by another.........Well PJ has done just that in the last few years since I found them......they are my favorite band of all time now!! My god did I just say that outloud! My hippie brothers and sisters will be pissed - never forget sneaking in my sisters room and hearing Janus Joplin and Jimi Hendrix at six years old and will always love the old music but my lawd Pearl Jam is just the absolute shit!!
+Jimmy Giles Just turned 50...Have seen the Rolling Stones live.Allman Brothers,Skynyrd a couple dozen times.I get your words.First time i heard Eddie belt out a tune you just knew we had a talent that will be rocking on for decades..Were 20 plus years into Eddie. The man is just hitting his stride.
Yes you said "Pearl Jam" past all those legendary bands! You know what Mr. Giles!🤔I AGREE with you!😃Pearl Jam is in my DNA. Their frequency just match perfectly with mine.
Thumbs up Jimmy. No argument here. Though every now and then I like to "clean the palette" Sometime Around Midnight and Go Let It Out with Shakermaker or I'll go get Blown Wide Open by Clint Eastwood but I Bet My Life that I'll orbit back to Pearl Jam. Habitually! Sometimes you have to leave to appreciate returning....but that's just me. Arguably great musicians surface with any generation but Pearl Jam IS a state of mind standing the test of time. Cheers!
This one of my 3 favorite songs along with Black and The hips Nautical Disaster--the weird thing about Crazy Mary is as good and longer the live versions are--that studio version is something special, its so beautiful!!!
I was amazingly lucky to see Pearl Jam do their one and only show in Boise, Idaho Nov 3, 2000. I was 16 at the time. They did the absolute best version of this cover at this show. I bought the official bootleg. They also did Cat Stevens' 'Don't Be Shy'. Most amazing show.
Sometimes I think as the Pearl Jam in Brazil or Chile or Argentina concert is some kinda The Doors coming to South America... Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam is a legend... And will be for life...

Saw them in Fort Worth on Wednesday, September 13th and he sang this song. While the keyboard solo was playing EV served wine to those in the pit closest to the front. It was an amazing performance.
I didn't know this was a cover until I read your comment. I looked up the original artist (Victoria Williams) and came to the conclusion that both versions are great in their own way imo 🤘
Pearl Jam finally got the admiration they deserved when their band was inducted by David Letterman into the 🎸 and Roll Hall of Fame a while back. With tunes like Crazy Mary (live) or as part of Temple of the Dog w/ Chris Cornell & Hunger Strike. Over 25 yrs of helping Neil Young bring back Rocking in the Free 🌎. It should be illegal to put ads in the middle of a crazy Mary jam
Right..lol
If someone tells you they “love Pearl Jam”, but doesn’t list this song as one of their favorites, they don’t know Pearl Jam
I imagine you know its a Lucinda Williams song performed brilliantly by Pearl Jam.
Awesome

Because it’s a Victoria Williams song
But to be fair, it IS a Pearl Jam song, too 😉

It’s not a Pearl Jam song. It’s a Victoria Williams cover.

One of the best songs of the 90s. And massively underrated. The songwriting by Williams, the performance by PJ, everything is great about this song.
Every time I'm more convinced that music is the God everybody wants to find. Relives the soul and give you peace. The one we all need to be a better world.
No doubt!
Amen!
Love and music! And when you find both at the same time, you live in Heaven francoise
Music is from God, one of many gifts. Just be open, say Yes, and you’re Golden.
Eddie is working toward perfection, seriously.
3:07 the guy that yells so emotional "now what you fear the mooost..." represents me so hard, love this song and this band so much!
Maybe it's time to see what you fear and 'pass' it around in yourself to see?
You can pass it to me Napalm.
