Corroded Soldering Iron Tips!

Corroded soldering irons can be a real pain. Check out what happens once they pass the point of no return! Don't let your irons get to this point. Avoid storing them in a damp or humid place such as in a basement. Keep the tips tinned with solder at all times and when not in use. Change out an old tip with a new one when needed. Both flux and solder (especially lead-free solder) can corrode a tip and cause oxidation, which is a soldering iron tip's enemy.
