    Resellers make it difficult as a collector to find good prices on video games and toys.

    • @pickingandpunching
      @pickingandpunching  6 місяців тому +1

      This is true to a point. I’m a collector first and foremost. I collect vintage 80’s toys (WWF, Ghostbusters, and TMNT). I also collect NES, SNES, PS1, and Dreamcast. A lot of collectors have turned into resellers to help fund their collections.

    • @robindaffern2941

      Resellers are the ones who dig through dusty bins oftentimes, or dig through inventory at thrift stores, research the item, get said item in resellable condition, list it, then wait for the right buyer. I'm a reseller myself and I have ZERO qualms with what I do. Most resellers aren't ripping people off they are simply trying to make ends meet like everyone else. If collectors want the most amazing prices on video games and toys they can be the ones doing all that work. 100%.

    So till you decide which one you will buy, someone has to wait for you? Make an offer for everything or allow others to take what they want. I think part of the fault is with you too. Trying to fishing items by blocking everything. Its not your item unless you pay for everything.

There were a couple she wanted to keep. She told me I had first dibs on them for waiting for her. She went to get the integer tote and the other lady started to grab some. As a person who has yearly yard sales, if I had a customer who was interested in a product I had multiples of, I would not pull them all out. I would just put the bins or boxes by the customers stuff and when I got it all out, I would go through them and set the price. The seller told me she had to put them out in the table before she could give me a price for them all because she didn’t know what was in the box. It was her brothers collection. I respectfully waited. I already informed her that I was making an offer on the items. She continued to pick up items. When she told me she was looking for a gift and asked about the Barbie I gave it to her. She decided later she didn’t want to pay the price the seller was asking fir and brought it back. @@pickingandpunching it’s just how it comes across in your video.. I watch a lot of different resellers (this is the first video I’ve seen of yours) and I understand your agreement with the seller to make a collective deal, but you still put up an argument with the Barbie “I haven’t got to that yet” to see if you’re interested, instead of saying it’s all yours. 🤷‍♂️ I think the resellers who are also content creators that are super successful (like Froggy Flips, Commonwealth Picker, Hairy Tornado) have a common theme of going above and beyond to be genuinely kind to not only the people they’re buying from but also the others patrons purchasing. I never seen them haggling quite like this when there is so much meat left on the bone. To each their own though.. I’m just one viewer with an opinion.

      There are a couple of reason why people sell off collection. It’s usually around life changing events. Some of those could be good like having baby and needing the room or starting a business and needing extra capital. Then you have bad situation where people get sick, lose their job, or pass away. It makes it difficult sometimes.

    Haters lol 😂 they dont understand all the context of everything you asked the seller about buying everything she just needed to get everything out and do prices, Maybe you got slightly frustrated but it happens 😂 in that one moment it looks big thing but its a load of little things like the seller, the time, everything lol. Plus the others dont understand reselling your not gonna pay Full ebay sold lol 😂 or new prices, I see that with pawn shops game store trade inns as well, you gotta make money and a lot of the stuff takes a while to sell plus all the costs fees shipping, time to do it whatever your selling on or at. At the end of the day the deal was done and both parties where as happy as can be, like you even did the work for her and respectful of the main things she was worried about, that woman brought that disney back lol. Plus it was her brothers stuff so im sure that played a part into everything it is what it is. When that dude said 50 for the games I was like hell na lol😂 i knew you would pass 😂.
    One benefit to resellers that a lot of people dont realise is that most of the time they are actually increasing availability of collectables or even common stuff to a wider audience its up to them if they want to pay for it, like its no good a game or card or antique or even clothes or whatever just gathering dust for no reason when it could be in a nice collection game room being played or enjoyed worn ect by someone the price is irrelevant to that its just whatvthe market or someone is willing to pay 😂 sometimes its just convenience people want so thats often the premium on the common stuff. I just find it funny when people get mad at you going out enjoying yourself doing all the work and making a little money at the same time lol 😂 while there probably at home ordering everything on amazon prime or ebay which is nothing wrong with that just dont complain lol 😂

She told me that her brother passed and wanted to pull out all the toys to go through them. She said there might be a couple of items she wanted to keep. As I was waiting for her to do that. Some other lady showed up and started to grab items off the table. She didn’t know about our previous conversation. The situation could have been handled differently by the seller and by me. This is one of those situations where you live and learn. I would have handled things differently if I was in the same situation.

    I hate when yard sellers go by ebay pricing. If they want to do that they should sell it clean it pack it ship it and take the fees off too and take chance on return. 🙄
