Cool Cat definitely my fav cut on Hot Space, and I agree, definitely not the trainwreck a lot of people say it is. And Sheer Heart Attack, the obvious no. 1, couldn't agree more!
For me, Queen records are divided by when HIV / AIDS entered Freddie's life because you can really see the songs become more personal and meaningful where before, it was purely about rock and roll. I'd say the last Queen Album that was purely about the music and the joy of music and untouched by Freddie's inner struggles was Hot Space. Beginning with the Works album, the songs and the lyrics began to secretly tell a tale about Freddie's emotional life because of his tragedy which was not yet known by the band but only Freddie. It's a hard life. Keep passing the open windows. Both written by Freddie clearly hints of Freddie's growing fears. Is this the world we created? Even the song Hammer to Fall, written by May, I think Freddie added some lyrics that touched upon his fears and thoughts at the time. "a little piece of you is falling away...as your body decays..and hammer to fall". He knew one day, the hammer of his disease would fall. And this continued in the Magic albums. And of course the latter albums when his HIV / AIDS was manifesting physically. So I think his band mates didn't know any of this but after his death, they realized, Freddie was dealing with his crisis through the songs and lyrics for a long time which only he knew.
You make a great point. I can agree with that fact. I think there are a few early songs that Freddie kind of reflected on himself and his inner feelings, like in Somebody To Love, his delivery just makes me think of someone who feels so unlovable and is just wanting...well, someone to love. But I can agree that a lot of the early stuff is very rock n roll and Freddie does definitely write some beautiful and heartbreaking songs about his life and feelings in the later years. There really isn't a bad Queen record if you ask me. They have a little something for everyone.

I’ve been so hyped for this video to come! Let’s face it, most people would put Flash at the bottom. It’s a great soundtrack but it just stands out in a wrong way for being merged in with their catalog. A Kind of Magic stands out mainly for the singles on it and the other tracks are eh. Made in Heaven is enjoyable at times but the reworkings of Freddie solo stuff is kinda scrapping the barrel. Innuendo is absolutely fantastic but sad indeed. I absolutely adore the cover for The Miracle and the singles are great but the closer Was It All Worth It is fantastic! The openers kinda drag it down for me personally. Hot space, that one... not going to lie Back Chat is one of my favorites and the live version of Staying Power is thrashing! The Game is perhaps the peak of Queen’s creativity, I love Prime Jive and even a track like Need Your Loving Tonight is needing of more love. A Day at the Races is solid, White Man and Millionaire Waltz are my favs. I love Jazz’s quirkiness, Fun It, Mustapha, Dreamers Ball, damn I want to play it now! A Night at the Opera is a fantastic record, definitely agree that it gets hyped a bit. The Prophets Song is my jam! News of the World, as much as it isn’t polished production wise, it is so ballsy. SSH and It’s Late are amazing. I have so many fond memories of listening to the debut album as a kid. 70s Queen records had so much camp and grandious it’s sensational. Queen II is my all time favorite queen record, it gives Night at the Opera a fun for its money in terms of being musically the most adventurous. SSH is phenomenal, I always loved the mini rock opera epic of Tenement/Flick/Lily. This was a solid first video in your new series, love the inclusion of the clips, you did a knock out job Marichen. Please do more artists!!!!

Flash Gordon - it works as a soundtrack but not as a queen album (5/10) 14. a kind of magic - the singles on this album are the standouts but other than that the others are just eh (7/10) 13. the miracle - this used to be my favourite album believe it or not but my opinions have changed and realised that this album has a lot of hit or miss tracks on it. And for some reason I don’t like the title track? Idk my opinions have changed a lot. (7.5/10) 12. innuendo - same reasoning as the miracle pretty much. A lot of hit or miss tracks and the only tracks I actually really love are Innuendo, I’m going slightly mad, these are the days and the show must go on. (7.5/10) 11. made in heaven - I really like mother love, the title track, my life has been saved, a winters tale, I was born to love you and tmlwky, but the others aren’t very good imo. Parts of it feel like a bunch of songs slapped together, not like a musical experience like their other albums. (7.5/10) 10. hot space - very underrated imo, but tbh this is an album where half are flat out amazing and the other half is a bit more weak. My favourite tracks are back chat, cool cat, staying power, dancer, life is real, las palabras de amor and life is real and maybe if I’m in the right mood body language. I think the thing with the flash soundtrack boils down to wether you like film or not,I loved it,as a Queen album it suffers because it is a soundtrack. So yeah probably least favourite in that sense. Not sure what my ranking would be have to do a list some day but made in heaven would probably be at bottom has moments but the 'redone' songs from Mr.bad guy and shove it aren't imo improved. So glad Hot space is getting some well deserved love.
I totally agree with that. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Flash Gordon movie, but I think it is a solid soundtrack, but in terms of a studio album not so much. Making a list was definitely hard to do! Each album holds a special place in my heart and if I were to rank these albums again, it may be different. I really dig Hot Space! I don’t understand why people hate on it so much! It’s very fun summery, groovy album in my opinion!

Thanks Brian! If you are just a casual Queen fan then the greatest hits releases would be awesome to add to the collection! I think the greatest hits comps are awesome! For me if I'm a casual fan of a band, I gravitate toward the hits comps because it has all I'm interested in.
My parents had a copy of their Greatest Hits, I wore it out! But Sheer Heart Attack was the first studio album I branch out to and it holds a very special place in my heart. Queen II is absolutely fantastic! I love it front to back, but I would say side 2 is the best side of the album, although I love it all!
@@marichensmusic my dad, who was a queen fan in his youth, bought the platinum collection (greatest hits 1,2 and 3) when it came out around 2000. I was about 14. Like you, I wore mine out haha was obsessed and the album came with a booklet saying the stories behind the songs and who wrote what. It made me become a guitarist and songwriter.
@@marichensmusic well, admittedly not a career sadly but a hobby I'm very passionate about and I've played live quite a lot of times and made some good memories. I've dealt with anxiety and depression a lot of my life and that hobby has helped a lot and so has queen's music. Even videos like these are a lot of fun. Might go on a binge watch of your channel haha the green Day albums one I'm definitely going to check out next

How refreshing to see someone making the case for "Hot Space." It's a far better record than it's given credit for, even though it could have been so much better with more of Brian's guitar and Roger's drums. It's an unusual one, for sure.

As far as the ranking, I think Queen are a band where you can either rank them objectively or by favorite- I prefer by favorite, and also by the ones I would go back to. Here is my listing, and I will say I’m old enough to have bought “seven seas of rye” when it first came out. 1. Sheer heart attack 2. News of the world 3. The game 4. Queen 1 5. Hot space 6. Jazz 7. Innuendo 8. A night at the opera 9. A day at the races 10. A kind of magic 11. The miracle 12. The works 13. Queen 11 I feel if this was objective, it would be quite different. Queen 2 for example would be higher. (As a side note I really love “see what a fool I’ve been” the b side of “seven seas of rye”). I also didn’t include Made in heaven, but it would be maybe 5 or 6 for me.
Drowse is one of my favourites. And I have a real soft spot for Jazz - that was the tour I saw. Night a the Opera and Day at the Races notwithstanding, Sheer Heart Attack is my favourite too. If Opera is Queen's Sgt. Pepper, Sheer Heart Attack is their Revolver. But their best song ever, The Prophet's Song, is on Opera, so ....

Hi there, I appreciate the time and effort you made for this video! Well.. I have a different view point on the “lower” ranked albums, I was actually surprised that Hot Space was higher than Innuendo(!!!!), The Miracle (!!) and A Kind of Magic(!) but yeah.. taste is not objective I guess and it is not because “Queen made a disco album”, it’s very weak, the production suck in my opinion and there are some not so good songs in there like Body Language for example, da fak is dat 😂 while there are also some classics like Back Chat and Dancer, I don’t hate it but it is Queen’s weakest effort hands down, in fact I think Innuendo is a beast of an album, sophisticated (aside from Delilah lol), heavy and as poetic as it can get, definitely Top5 material (even though it’s not much space there). Queen II is probably their darkest record, a dark progressive masterpiece! Your love for ‘39 touched my heart, I adore it but I think Death on Two Legs is my favorite and I do have special affinity for Seaside Rendezvous, it’s sick 🤣 Their debut is one of the greatest debuts in the history of Rock music I Love A Day at the Races, Long Away and Teo Torriate are my favorites News of the World.. what can we say about that one.. all killer songs, aside from the great We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions, my personal favorites are the two last songs, It’s Late and the absolute sick jazzy My Melancholy Blues (John Deacon’s bass on that one makes wanna cry). Their first 6 albums are untouchable, I never tried to rank Queen’s albums, I will fail miserably lol but Sheer Heart Attack deserves to be there ♥️🤘🏼

I adore Cool Cat! Whenever I hear it, I feel like wearing Daisy Dukes with a crop top and taking a ride on roller skates in Malibu or Venice Beach or sth like that. LOL And Hot Space is such a fun album, would I place it in top 3, no, but I don't get the hate for it. As to A Night, I do like '39, but my fav from this album is The Prophet's Song, one of my favs of Queen. But also this album has one of the very few songs, that I can't stand and always skip - I'm in Love With My Car. I need to think about, how I would rank all the albums, it will be hard. :D But for sure different than yours, cause the first three albums aren't my favs, not that I don't like them, I like all the albums, just I don't play them that much. Also, would you do a top10 or top20 of your fav Queen songs?

I have tried and tried to see what some people see in Jazz. I just don't get it. I LOVE Fat Bottomed Girls and Don't Stop Me Now and really like Bicycle Race but I couldn't get into any other song on the album at all, lol! Even with the reviled album Hot Space, even though I'm not a fan of any songs outside of Under Pressure, Calling All Girls, and Life Is Real and I tolerate Body Language, I don't hate any of the other songs. They're not my thing but they aren't bad. Just forgettable. With Jazz, those other songs hurt my ears, lol! They are weird! 😂😂😂 Another one many people seem to love, The Miracle, I just don't see either. Although it isn't as head scratching as Jazz. But songs like The Invisible Man are bad weak. Was It All Worth It? was AMAZING and should have been a single!
HOLY COW! I know this had to have been one of the hardest videos for you to make! The work you put into this is insane, but I'm SO SO glad you did because this is an incredibly well put together video! I have yet to actually find a copy of Made in Heaven, but I'm scared that if I were to cough up the money for one, I wouldn't listen to it enough to make it worth it for me. I've been known to always revisit my favorites when it comes to the Queen discography! Haha! I could tell it started to get hard for you once you got to "The Works" I was surprised by how high you placed The Miracle! I agree that it deserves more hype, but I feel even most Queen fans rank it a bit lower, YOU GO GIRL! Hun, once you got to "A Day At The Races" and "Jazz" I couldn’t even think to myself what I would pick! I didn't realize how hard this was until we get closer and closer to the top! You're an early Queen girl!! I see you!! Also to no surprise Sheer Heart Attack is #1! "Flick of the Wrist" into "Lily of the Valley" is one of my favorite Queen moments of all time, and UGH, it's just pure perfection! Marichen, this video is amazing!! It is so well put together and the editing is fantastic!! Well done!

From what I know/have heard, I think that I agree with you about 70s Queen. Also totally agree with you about their debut ... totally flawless and severely underrated. Hi Marichen, I'm so pleased Hot Space reached the top 10. I put it as no. 8 in my ranking last year. It's my second favourite 80's Queen album behind The Works. I'm not overly keen on The Game as it sounds more like a compilation than a true album.

Hi Marichen , I have always had News Of The World as my favourite with Sheer Heart Attack being second. I agree that Flash Gordon is not particularly impressive nor is the film.
Nice! News Of The World is flawless! I was mesmerized by the album from the minute I heard it! I feel like Flash Gordon has a lot of filler. I was not overly impressed with the movie, but it is definitely a product of its time. It is a very cheesy 80s movie!

My rankings basically are based on which one I heard first, because when I heard it first, that's the style and sound of of why I enjoyed the band in the first place. First time I ever heard Queen was when I was a junior in high school in 1973, it was a new release at the Vinyl Donut Record Shop in Honolulu Hawaii , I haven't heard of the band Queen but it was a new release,, so I bought it blindly, it was a cool cover the word QUEEN was in Gold lettering, purchased it and took it home and played it on my turntable and loved it. Here was a new band, I was going to be rocking too. Here's my list of my favorite Queen albums but I only listed 8 because , I stop listening to them, in my ears The Sounds were changing and I like the older 70's style more, that happened a lot with me in the early days. 1st QUEEN 1973 QUEEN ll 1974 SHEER HEART ATTACK 1974 A NIGHT A THE OPERA 1975 NEWS OF THE WORLD 1977 A DAY AT THE RACES 1976 JAZZ 1978 THE GAME 1980,. Definitely the sound of the band was changing, and you're right about a day at the races when we first heard it back then, in 1976 I thought it was just songs that didn't make it on a night at the Opera it sounded so similar yet mediocre, but it still had that old sound, they started doing more dance beat music sounds and that started turning me off. don't get me wrong that song "Another One Bites the Dust," I heard it so much on the radio that it grew on me. Then in 1980s I would be listening to more hair metal bands, metal band, punk bands, and definitely hard rock bands from the 70s and 60s. Mahalo again Marichen, looking forward to your next video.

"Innuendo" totally makes one emotional but DAMN is it good! Oh wow...I'm surprised by your "The Game" ranking! "Mustafa" is a bop...any ABBA fan should love that song! Guilty about "this is first and this is last" lol! See "A Night At The Opera" is my favorite Queen album...but it is also one of my favorite 10 albums of all time. Although I love it and can play it forever...I can agree that it is overdone compared to other Queen works! YES FREGGIN "'39!!!" It is odd that the "Sheer Heart Attack" song is not on the album of the same name just like Zeppelin's "Houses Of The Holy!" "Queen Does prog" that is a perfect description of "Queen II!" Great video girl. My ranking is a little different but I generally agree with all the things you said about every album individually. I freaking love Hot Space as well, it’s in my personal top 5. They are the most versatile band I know and that’s why I adore them and every album of them shows exactly that. They never wanted to be boring and repeat themselves or a recipe that has worked in the past. They took risks even when they could lose everything(e.x night at the opera album, hot space, another one bites the dust as a single, body language video clip). Queen has a song for everybody. So I think that at least everyone should respect that. Not necessarily like all of their stuff, of course we all have a different taste in music. But they always were so innovative and full of ideas. I am so happy that you believe that too. I heard You Don't Fool Me playing in a Jack In The Box last year, and check out When Death Calls by Black Sabbath, Brian May plays a solo on it, it's on the cd Headless Cross.
My favorite Queen studio album has always been The Game. I feel like it doesn't get enough love. And sure, it has one of their biggest hits in Another One Bites The Dust, and another pretty big hit in Crazy Little Thing Called Love, but to me it's the other songs that some would call filler that make this one stand out. Save Me is one of my all-time favorite Queen songs and Play The Game is a great song too! But songs like Need Your Loving Tonight, Rock It (Prime Jive), and Dragon Attack are SO underrated!
This is great! I appreciate the time and effort you've put into this, I like how you explained your reasoning behind the rankings, and I love how you single out lesser well known songs for attention - such as Cool Cat, for example, a song I've always loved but I never usually hear anyone mention. I think your descriptions of the albums is pretty fair and balanced. My own ranking would have Innuendo & The Works higher, The Miracle and Jazz lower, and I'd probably have to put NATO in top spot, with SHA a close second. My reasoning for this is that, for me, I think side 1 of SHA is stunning, but side 2 overall is ever so slightly not quite at the same level. NATO gets top spot for me because I think it's overall a more consistent album from beginning to end - there's only Sweet Lady that I don't really care for. But everyone has their own favourites and it was great to hear yours! This is the first video of yours I've seen, so I'm going to check out some of your others now!

For me, Queen records are divided by when HIV / AIDS entered Freddie's life because you can really see the songs become more personal and meaningful where before, it was purely about rock and roll. I'd say the last Queen Album that was purely about the music and the joy of music and untouched by Freddie's inner struggles was Hot Space. Beginning with the Works album, the songs and the lyrics began to secretly tell a tale about Freddie's emotional life because of his tragedy which was not yet known by the band but only Freddie. It's a hard life. Keep passing the open windows. Both written by Freddie clearly hints of Freddie's growing fears. Is this the world we created? Even the song Hammer to Fall, written by May, I think Freddie added some lyrics that touched upon his fears and thoughts at the time. "a little piece of you is falling away...as your body decays..and hammer to fall". He knew one day, the hammer of his disease would fall. And this continued in the Magic albums. And of course the latter albums when his HIV / AIDS was manifesting physically. So I think his band mates didn't know any of this but after his death, they realized, Freddie was dealing with his crisis through the songs and lyrics for a long time which only he knew.
You make a great point. I can agree with that fact. I think there are a few early songs that Freddie kind of reflected on himself and his inner feelings, like in Somebody To Love, his delivery just makes me think of someone who feels so unlovable and is just wanting...well, someone to love. But I can agree that a lot of the early stuff is very rock n roll and Freddie does definitely write some beautiful and heartbreaking songs about his life and feelings in the later years. There really isn't a bad Queen record if you ask me. They have a little something for everyone.

I’ve been so hyped for this video to come! Let’s face it, most people would put Flash at the bottom. It’s a great soundtrack but it just stands out in a wrong way for being merged in with their catalog. A Kind of Magic stands out mainly for the singles on it and the other tracks are eh. Made in Heaven is enjoyable at times but the reworkings of Freddie solo stuff is kinda scrapping the barrel. Innuendo is absolutely fantastic but sad indeed. I absolutely adore the cover for The Miracle and the singles are great but the closer Was It All Worth It is fantastic! The openers kinda drag it down for me personally. Hot space, that one... not going to lie Back Chat is one of my favorites and the live version of Staying Power is thrashing! The Game is perhaps the peak of Queen’s creativity, I love Prime Jive and even a track like Need Your Loving Tonight is needing of more love. A Day at the Races is solid, White Man and Millionaire Waltz are my favs. I love Jazz’s quirkiness, Fun It, Mustapha, Dreamers Ball, damn I want to play it now! A Night at the Opera is a fantastic record, definitely agree that it gets hyped a bit. The Prophets Song is my jam! News of the World, as much as it isn’t polished production wise, it is so ballsy. SSH and It’s Late are amazing. I have so many fond memories of listening to the debut album as a kid. 70s Queen records had so much camp and grandious it’s sensational. Queen II is my all time favorite queen record, it gives Night at the Opera a fun for its money in terms of being musically the most adventurous. SSH is phenomenal, I always loved the mini rock opera epic of Tenement/Flick/Lily. This was a solid first video in your new series, love the inclusion of the clips, you did a knock out job Marichen. Please do more artists!!!!

14. a kind of magic - the singles on this album are the standouts but other than that the others are just eh (7/10)
13. the miracle - this used to be my favourite album believe it or not but my opinions have changed and realised that this album has a lot of hit or miss tracks on it. And for some reason I don’t like the title track? Idk my opinions have changed a lot. (7.5/10)
12. innuendo - same reasoning as the miracle pretty much. A lot of hit or miss tracks and the only tracks I actually really love are Innuendo, I’m going slightly mad, these are the days and the show must go on. (7.5/10)
11. made in heaven - I really like mother love, the title track, my life has been saved, a winters tale, I was born to love you and tmlwky, but the others aren’t very good imo. Parts of it feel like a bunch of songs slapped together, not like a musical experience like their other albums. (7.5/10)
10. hot space - very underrated imo, but tbh this is an album where half are flat out amazing and the other half is a bit more weak. My favourite tracks are back chat, cool cat, staying power, dancer, life is real, las palabras de amor and life is real and maybe if I’m in the right mood body language. (8/10)
9. the works - same reasoning reasoning with hot space pretty much just a bit more great tracks on it. (8/10)
8. news of the world - in my opinion, this is the weakest of their 70s work, only because I feel like it’s too punky and raw. Like that sounds weird but I think it could’ve done with some more production and less raw stuff? Just my opinion though. Still a fantastic album. (8.5/10)
7. queen - production is average but overall this album is fucking awesome. (9/10)

I think the thing with the flash soundtrack boils down to wether you like film or not,I loved it,as a Queen album it suffers because it is a soundtrack.
So yeah probably least favourite in that sense.
Not sure what my ranking would be have to do a list some day but made in heaven would probably be at bottom has moments but the 'redone' songs from Mr.bad guy and shove it aren't imo improved.

I totally agree with that. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Flash Gordon movie, but I think it is a solid soundtrack, but in terms of a studio album not so much. Making a list was definitely hard to do! Each album holds a special place in my heart and if I were to rank these albums again, it may be different. I really dig Hot Space! I don’t understand why people hate on it so much! It’s very fun summery, groovy album in my opinion!

sheer heart attack was the first Queen album I bought.
Queen II is my favourite mainly because of Freddie's 2nd side of the album.
My parents had a copy of their Greatest Hits, I wore it out! But Sheer Heart Attack was the first studio album I branch out to and it holds a very special place in my heart. Queen II is absolutely fantastic! I love it front to back, but I would say side 2 is the best side of the album, although I love it all!
@@marichensmusic my dad, who was a queen fan in his youth, bought the platinum collection (greatest hits 1,2 and 3) when it came out around 2000. I was about 14. Like you, I wore mine out haha was obsessed and the album came with a booklet saying the stories behind the songs and who wrote what. It made me become a guitarist and songwriter.

@@marichensmusic well, admittedly not a career sadly but a hobby I'm very passionate about and I've played live quite a lot of times and made some good memories. I've dealt with anxiety and depression a lot of my life and that hobby has helped a lot and so has queen's music. Even videos like these are a lot of fun. Might go on a binge watch of your channel haha the green Day albums one I'm definitely going to check out next

How refreshing to see someone making the case for "Hot Space." It's a far better record than it's given credit for, even though it could have been so much better with more of Brian's guitar and Roger's drums. It's an unusual one, for sure.

As far as the ranking, I think Queen are a band where you can either rank them objectively or by favorite- I prefer by favorite, and also by the ones I would go back to. Here is my listing, and I will say I’m old enough to have bought “seven seas of rye” when it first came out.

If Opera is Queen's Sgt. Pepper, Sheer Heart Attack is their Revolver. But their best song ever, The Prophet's Song, is on Opera, so ....

Hi there, I appreciate the time and effort you made for this video! Well.. I have a different view point on the “lower” ranked albums, I was actually surprised that Hot Space was higher than Innuendo(!!!!), The Miracle (!!) and A Kind of Magic(!) but yeah.. taste is not objective I guess and it is not because “Queen made a disco album”, it’s very weak, the production suck in my opinion and there are some not so good songs in there like Body Language for example, da fak is dat 😂 while there are also some classics like Back Chat and Dancer, I don’t hate it but it is Queen’s weakest effort hands down, in fact I think Innuendo is a beast of an album, sophisticated (aside from Delilah lol), heavy and as poetic as it can get, definitely Top5 material (even though it’s not much space there).
Queen II is probably their darkest record, a dark progressive masterpiece!
Your love for ‘39 touched my heart, I adore it but I think Death on Two Legs is my favorite and I do have special affinity for Seaside Rendezvous, it’s sick 🤣
Their debut is one of the greatest debuts in the history of Rock music
I Love A Day at the Races, Long Away and Teo Torriate are my favorites
News of the World.. what can we say about that one.. all killer songs, aside from the great We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions, my personal favorites are the two last songs, It’s Late and the absolute sick jazzy My Melancholy Blues (John Deacon’s bass on that one makes wanna cry).
Their first 6 albums are untouchable, I never tried to rank Queen’s albums, I will fail miserably lol but Sheer Heart Attack deserves to be there ♥️🤘🏼

I adore Cool Cat! Whenever I hear it, I feel like wearing Daisy Dukes with a crop top and taking a ride on roller skates in Malibu or Venice Beach or sth like that. LOL And Hot Space is such a fun album, would I place it in top 3, no, but I don't get the hate for it.
As to A Night, I do like '39, but my fav from this album is The Prophet's Song, one of my favs of Queen. But also this album has one of the very few songs, that I can't stand and always skip - I'm in Love With My Car.
I need to think about, how I would rank all the albums, it will be hard. :D But for sure different than yours, cause the first three albums aren't my favs, not that I don't like them, I like all the albums, just I don't play them that much.

I have tried and tried to see what some people see in Jazz. I just don't get it. I LOVE Fat Bottomed Girls and Don't Stop Me Now and really like Bicycle Race but I couldn't get into any other song on the album at all, lol! Even with the reviled album Hot Space, even though I'm not a fan of any songs outside of Under Pressure, Calling All Girls, and Life Is Real and I tolerate Body Language, I don't hate any of the other songs. They're not my thing but they aren't bad. Just forgettable. With Jazz, those other songs hurt my ears, lol! They are weird! 😂😂😂 Another one many people seem to love, The Miracle, I just don't see either. Although it isn't as head scratching as Jazz. But songs like The Invisible Man are bad weak. Was It All Worth It? was AMAZING and should have been a single!
HOLY COW! I know this had to have been one of the hardest videos for you to make! The work you put into this is insane, but I'm SO SO glad you did because this is an incredibly well put together video! I have yet to actually find a copy of Made in Heaven, but I'm scared that if I were to cough up the money for one, I wouldn't listen to it enough to make it worth it for me. I've been known to always revisit my favorites when it comes to the Queen discography! Haha! I could tell it started to get hard for you once you got to "The Works" I was surprised by how high you placed The Miracle! I agree that it deserves more hype, but I feel even most Queen fans rank it a bit lower, YOU GO GIRL! Hun, once you got to "A Day At The Races" and "Jazz" I couldn’t even think to myself what I would pick! I didn't realize how hard this was until we get closer and closer to the top! You're an early Queen girl!! I see you!! Also to no surprise Sheer Heart Attack is #1! "Flick of the Wrist" into "Lily of the Valley" is one of my favorite Queen moments of all time, and UGH, it's just pure perfection! Marichen, this video is amazing!! Hi Marichen, I'm so pleased Hot Space reached the top 10. I put it as no. 8 in my ranking last year. It's my second favourite 80's Queen album behind The Works. I'm not overly keen on The Game as it sounds more like a compilation than a true album.

Hi Marichen , I have always had News Of The World as my favourite with Sheer Heart Attack being second. I agree that Flash Gordon is not particularly impressive nor is the film.
Nice! News Of The World is flawless! I was mesmerized by the album from the minute I heard it! I feel like Flash Gordon has a lot of filler. I was not overly impressed with the movie, but it is definitely a product of its time. It is a very cheesy 80s movie!

My rankings basically are based on which one I heard first, because when I heard it first, that's the style and sound of of why I enjoyed the band in the first place. First time I ever heard Queen was when I was a junior in high school in 1973, it was a new release at the Vinyl Donut Record Shop in Honolulu Hawaii ,
I haven't heard of the band Queen but it was a new release,, so I bought it blindly, it was a cool cover the word QUEEN was in Gold lettering, purchased it and took it home and played it on my turntable and loved it. Here was a new band, I was going to be rocking too.
Here's my list of my favorite Queen albums but I only listed 8 because , I stop listening to them, in my ears The Sounds were changing and I like the older 70's style more, that happened a lot with me in the early days.

Definitely the sound of the band was changing, and you're right about a day at the races when we first heard it back then, in 1976 I thought it was just songs that didn't make it on a night at the Opera it sounded so similar yet mediocre, but it still had that old sound, they started doing more dance beat music sounds and that started turning me off. don't get me wrong that song "Another One Bites the Dust," I heard it so much on the radio that it grew on me.
Then in 1980s I would be listening to more hair metal bands, metal band, punk bands, and definitely hard rock bands from the 70s and 60s.

"Innuendo" totally makes one emotional but DAMN is it good! Oh wow...I'm surprised by your "The Game" ranking! "Mustafa" is a bop...any ABBA fan should love that song! Guilty about "this is first and this is last" lol! See "A Night At The Opera" is my favorite Queen album...but it is also one of my favorite 10 albums of all time. Although I love it and can play it forever...I can agree that it is overdone compared to other Queen works! YES FREGGIN "'39!!!" It is odd that the "Sheer Heart Attack" song is not on the album of the same name just like Zeppelin's "Houses Of The Holy!" "Queen Does prog" that is a perfect description of "Queen II!" I know! I feel so bad, it is still a good album though! Hey Innuendo did move up a few spots on my list haha! I really enjoy The Game, but I someone had to be number 8 haha! ANATO is a classic and I love it! I will always consider it flawless! Yes! I thought about making the Zeppelin reference too, but I didn't! Right?!? I thought Queen does prog was fitting for Queen II! Haha I know right who would have ever known that Sheer Heart Attack is my fave! Thanks Mike!

Great video girl. My ranking is a little different but I generally agree with all the things you said about every album individually. I freaking love Hot Space as well, it’s in my personal top 5. They are the most versatile band I know and that’s why I adore them and every album of them shows exactly that. They never wanted to be boring and repeat themselves or a recipe that has worked in the past. They took risks even when they could lose everything(e.x night at the opera album, hot space, another one bites the dust as a single, body language video clip). Queen has a song for everybody. So I think that at least everyone should respect that. Not necessarily like all of their stuff, of course we all have a different taste in music. But they always were so innovative and full of ideas. I am so happy that you believe that too. You are the best

I heard You Don't Fool Me playing in a Jack In The Box last year, and check out When Death Calls by Black Sabbath, Brian May plays a solo on it, it's on the cd Headless Cross.

My favorite Queen studio album has always been The Game. I feel like it doesn't get enough love. And sure, it has one of their biggest hits in Another One Bites The Dust, and another pretty big hit in Crazy Little Thing Called Love, but to me it's the other songs that some would call filler that make this one stand out. Save Me is one of my all-time favorite Queen songs and Play The Game is a great song too! But songs like Need Your Loving Tonight, Rock It (Prime Jive), and Dragon Attack are SO underrated!
This is great! I appreciate the time and effort you've put into this, I like how you explained your reasoning behind the rankings, and I love how you single out lesser well known songs for attention - such as Cool Cat, for example, a song I've always loved but I never usually hear anyone mention. I think your descriptions of the albums is pretty fair and balanced. My own ranking would have Innuendo & The Works higher, The Miracle and Jazz lower, and I'd probably have to put NATO in top spot, with SHA a close second. My reasoning for this is that, for me, I think side 1 of SHA is stunning, but side 2 overall is ever so slightly not quite at the same level. NATO gets top spot for me because I think it's overall a more consistent album from beginning to end - there's only Sweet Lady that I don't really care for. But everyone has their own favourites and it was great to hear yours! This is the first video of yours I've seen, so I'm going to check out some of your others now!
Thank you so much for the compliment! I personally tend to love deep cuts, even more so than the hits at times! I agree that everyone has their own favorites and songs can hit differently for everyone, music is totally subjective. I do agree with your comment about Sweet Lady, it is definitely the weakest song on ANATO in my opinion.
