Queen songs are like pizza. When it’s good, it’s great, but when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.
Excellent summary. It’s impossible for me to dislike a Queen song no matter how bad it is
That’s a great line! I might use that 😉. Although I really dislike Funny, don’t try suicide and All gods people. 😅
@@PatPosse Thanks!! Yeah, Feel free to use it😊. And I can personally understand the dislike for those songs. Except Don’t try suicide. I think that one’s kind of funny how it’s so upbeat talking about such a serious thing. And the chorus is catchy too.
Haha you got a point there… sarcasm is funny lol. She makes me is pretty meh too and Party 😕. Haha I digress
@@PatPosse Forgot “She makes me” was even a song. Party is alright. Nothing I get excited for, but I let it play anyway because it’s so short and I’m too lazy to skip it for the next song.
Death on two legs is one of the most underrated songs
You are not kidding! It's a great opener with tons of awesome layers and a dark and heavy sounding chromatic main riff! Killer Stuff!
So yeah, Somebody To Love is probably a top 10 Queen song for me, but surprised Delilah isn’t the worst on Innuendo
Delilah is a close second lol
@@PatPosse 😻 *mee-ow!* 😂
HAHAHA
when you pee all over my chip 'n dale suite???
I love all of their songs. I don't believe they are capable of writing a bad song.
Even their "worse" songs are still better than most current songs out there today.
And "Funny How love is" is a great motown type song. I love it.
Haha they are very capable lol. Objectively speaking there’s some stinkers out there. That being said, I’m glad you love them all. I don’t care for Motown, so that makes sense. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse I agree with the pizza analogy.
Even if its not the best pizza...its still pizza. And thats better than a tofu burger (i.e. today's autotune music)
But yeah, I understand that not everyone will love EVERY Queen song like I do.
I believe its like that with every Rock band.
Personally I can't stand the Beatles. But many hippies say they're the absolute greatest...(yuck!)
There are so many bands that sound better than the Beatles.
I’m with you 100% on this statement. The pizza analogy is great (and so is the tofu burger one! Haha). Never got into the Beatles or got why people love them so much… oh well lol
@@PatPosse As a metal head for sooo many years I listened to anything from Gwar to Amon Amarth. From priest to manowar.
But it took me awhile to see that it was QUEEN that got me into heavy metal.
And I realize that Queen has branched me out to different types and genres of music.
Because when you think about it...Queen can do what those other metal bands can do and more. But alot of those metal bands can't do what Queen does.
Funny, I actually have a video planned out about something like that. A lot of guys in the metal community were always baffled to learn that my favorite band of all time is Queen (I’m a technical Death Metal guitarist/vocalist). Queen did it all, metal, Charleston, classic rock, big band, prog, pop, funk… how can you not love them?!
I'm a Queen fan since 1975 and "She Makes Me" is one of my favourite Queen songs... a deep cut. Roger also wrote some cracking songs... "Drowse" is another deep cut... probably in my top 5 Queen.
Nice! I have no beef with Roger and love most of his songs and even his solo projects! But… he IS the weakest writer when compared to the beastly Brian, Freddie and Deaky the hit machine! That being said, I love what he brings to the table and how it makes the band that much more diverse…
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Ps. Drowse is a beautiful tune.
😎👍💯 "She Makes Me" blew my mind the first time I heard it, and every time since! The way it opens on the off beat is genius, creating sort of a disorienting effect to which Brian adds those brilliant layered guitars only he can... the sirens & heavy, labored breathing at the end add quite a mysterious weight to the proceedings as well. This song has *heft.* And "Drowse" is a delight as well... brilliant slide work, epic 70s style (almost Mott-like) and just so wistful, nostalgic & bittersweet. One of Roger's best! ☮️+💜+🎶
I dig Drowse a lot! She makes me just doesn't do it for me...
@@PatPosse: of course you’re entitled to your own opinion but I don’t agree on most of your picks. I think Queen didn’t have always the very best choices on their albums and agree somewhat that you said for the Miracle they could have better choices, but we have the 40th Anniversary Version now, so everyone with a streaming service can listen to the good stuff they left out. Furthermore in my opinion it’s usually Roger Taylor who wrote the sorriest songs on most of their albums. But to call him in my words musically challenged is not true. I don’t like Radio Gaga, but he wrote it and it was a smash hit song. Drowse, I like a lot too. On Fun it we disagree. It’s no masterpiece but the worst song on Jazz has to be More of that Jazz. You also seem to have a beef with John Deacon: I love his upbeat, poppy songs: they are very musical and are easy on the ears. What’s wrong with that? All in all no band can produce an album without one or two songs that won’t be liked by everyone who’s listening to them. Have you ever heard the absolute proof that there’s no Queen album without Freddie? Try the Cosmos Rocks with Paul Rodgers. As a singer to fill the gap Freddie left I preferred him 200% over that piece of overrated shit Adam Lambert, and even so without John Deacon I really don’t think the two old men left are entitled to call themselves Queen. It’s a good thing this current tour will be their last one. Let’s hope they have still some gems like Face it Alone left in their vault. About your channel: it’s very entertaining and even though I don’t agree with you, at least you know what you are talking about. A rare thing nowadays.
@@xanderosorio1636 Hey buddy! First of all, thanks for the kind words and respect... also a rare thing nowadays! That being said, I love both Deacy and Rog!! It's just hard to condense down a point and make it clear enough in a video short enough to keep people engaged... I also like to ruffle someone's feathers to induce comments lol. Roger made some killer songs and his vocals are key to the sound of Queen and of course, John was a hit making machine!. "Queen" + PR had some cool moments. I actually saw them live in Miami on their first American concert ever (as Q+PR) the first time back in a looooong time in 2006. It was amazing! But when the highly anticipated Cosmos Rocks album came out, I hated it. I am actually thinking about getting it again just so it's not the only Queen studio release I'm missing... I guess it could be fun to revisit that album. I am more excited to see what Queen gets out of their vault although most of the songs they put out were known songs and had seen some sort of light before... I fear this is it. Hoping for at least some better versions of Silver Salmon and other rarities and maybe some awesome Live performances to be released.
I too cringe at "Queen" + Adam Lambert.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Roger Taylor had some unforgettable tracks that really rock and i very much like them :
The Loser In the End, Tenement Funster, I'm In Love With My Car and Drowse.
I can never skip them.
Also, he sings great and Udo Dirkschneider from Accept, imitates him.
Big fan of those songs too! I’m in love with my car is so much better live though! I can’t imagine Queen without Roger’s vocals!
I love 'She Makes Me' it's sort of haunting and I find myself humming bits of it randomly.
Oh no, It got you! Hahaha you are hooked! Believe or not I love the, “who knows who’ll she make as I lie on her cocoon”. It is a good song, I just dislike the verses and how unfitting it is within the album. But hey, I love that so many people love it! You guys love Queen, you are all awesome in my book 💪🏻
I dont realy know what is this song about. Someone says that its about man running from police because of his girlfriend, someone says that its about commiting suicide from high building and saying goodbye to his bad lover. And someone says that its about man sitting in home and then killed by a german soldier(stormtrooper) with stiletto knife and song is his last toughts. Can anybody tell me?
@@kebappi believe its someone mentally ill comitting suicide due to the control of their lover. i think ‘she’ was taking control of him from lines like “im warm and terrorfied”. but she pretended to help him - “who knows who *she’ll* make me, as I lie in *her* cocoon” -like she was putting on a persona and slowly deteriorating him. the (stormtroopers in stilettos) part also hints at this, stilettos meaning both a dagger or a womans heel. until the point that he committs suicide but still loves her, not realising shes the reason hes been getting worse - “i know the day i’ll leave her, i’ll love her still”.
i think the thing that makes it so confusing is the police sirens at the end. im pretty sure theres screaming too? probably to do with the suicide. but idk thats just what i got from it.
Not a bad interpretation of the lyrics to be honest… I never thought much about this song as I’m not a big fan of it but your theory makes sense. I can see what you mean…
As a Queen fan for almost 30 years I agree with Fun It, Body Language and The Party... Funny How Love is and She Makes Me, well there is some vibe to those songs that I like...Sweet Lady (loved the song from the start) If I remember correctly, the lyrics where very personal from Brian's life and cheese had to do with some situation...when I was younger I prefered mostly early Queen, but now it is just the matter of the mood I am in (songs or albums) I like Roger's songs musically as his solo albums, but his first and now my fave album is Fun In Space ( some chord progressions where spooky to me when I was young, like in the song Laugh Or Cry, but now it is my fave) Times they are changing as our opinion and view on some things! Good luck! All the best!
Thank you very much! Fun in space is well, fun to listen to lol. I love ALL Queen so I understand what you mean completely. I became a Queen fan after listening to my dad’s GH2 everyday nonstop for a year at age 10 lol so 80s and 90s Queen holds a special place in my heart! There’s tons of Queen content coming up. Hope to see your comments there! 😁
Thanks for watching
@@PatPosse I Forgot about all God's people, maybe I grew up, but now I like this song musically and lyrically! Also because of Queen I became a musician and have favorite artists from 60 70-ies rock to black and death metal, some 80 -90ies pop music, classical music and even trance music! Soundtracks to movies and games! But Queen still my top band! Saw Queen in 2012 ( I believe this was the first show from tour with Adam here in Ukraine with Elton John (love his music), Saw Dio in 2005 and Dark Funeral (if You know the band), soon Paul Romero will be here in July, having tickets bought a year ago! Ok, going to check some other videos from You!)))
@@Dimentius1 Nice, I also go from like Brutal Technical Death Metal to Classical, Tango and other stuff! Elton rules and so does Dark Funeral, one of my favorite Black Metal bands! it's not often I find openminded people musically speaking such as yourself!
I felt that Roger should have used Fun in Space on the Game album in place of Rock it Prime Jive and the Latter on the Fun in Space album and re-named the album Prime Jive. Fun in Space is a much more Queen flavored song plus it's longer for an album that's otherwise pretty short.
@@kurtmorris454 Makes sense! There's some cool Roger Taylor tunes that get overlooked...
That was surprisingly thought provoking, even if I don't necessarily agree with all your choices. Sweet Lady is an absolute banger even if some of the lyrics are a bit cheesy (although I kind of suspect that kind of the point for that song). On the subject the "Queen - Deep Cuts" compilations are a really good showcase of them at their best.
That's awesome! The whole point of this video was to get people talking about Queen and it did! Queen is my favorite band ever nd there'll be more Queen content to come! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Super cool list video! Liked + subbed, brother! Disagreed with a few picks, but that's the beauty of such choices... we all have opinions about our beloved *Queen!* 👑
That’s exactly right my brother! When I make my favorite song from each album video I’m sure there’s going to be some disagreements there as well but that’s the beauty of Queen! There’s something for everyone!
Thanks for watching, commenting and subbing like a man! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
Somebody To Love is not only one of the best Queen songs, but one of the bests songs ever! the vocal arrangement just kills it!
I agree 100% objectively speaking it's an awesome song! I also love it live. It just never vibed with me and I don't need to listen to it again lol. When listening to it on vinyl once I get to the B side I put the needle on White Man 😁
@@PatPosse I understand.. but is one of my favorite songs ever! greetings from Argentina!
Saludos Campeón! 💪🏻🏆
@@PatPosse no me digas que sos argento! me re comí que eras yanqui o europeo! que flash
@@AngelHadzi un poco de esto, un poco de aquello 😉
I love “you are my best friend.” 😂 The bass line is what does it for me. Bass player here tho ✋🏼
Nice! John is criminally underrated! His bass lines on the first 7 albums are second to none! I particularly love the intro on The Millionaire Waltz (speaking of underrated....)
Just discovered your channel keep up the excellent work.
Thank you very much!!! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
2:17 Redeeming qualities to FHLI: it makes good use of the Phil Spectre "Wall of Sound" which was popular back then, but frankly I see FHLI rather as just a long outro, a coda for TMOFBQ than as an individual song.
I can see that and I would agree to some extent. That being the case I would have rather it’d been a lot shorter… it does resolve “the March” very well every time I’ve heard “black Queen” as a stand-alone I’ve missed FHLI cause I’ve heard them so much together that it’s hard to think about them as different tracks (kinda like rock you and champions) but still, not a fan. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse You're welcome! 🙂
I agree with some picks, disagree with others. And I still agree that all the other songs on the album are better than FHLI. :)
@@mori1bund That's the beauty of Queen though, their catalog is so extensive and varied that there's something for everyone!
@@PatPosse I completely agree!
Though sometimes you have to see a song in the right context and suddenly it grows on you, like 'Body Language' in this context -> ua-cam.com/video/cVaIPF7xnQg/v-deo.html 😁😁
You twisted my arm on that song... hard to hate it now..!! haha
I know were talking about worst songs, but my top 3 albums are 1. A night at the Opera 2. Innuendo 3. Queen 2
All great albums and definitely on my top 5! Queen and Sheer Heart Attack are on there too… just not sure about the order 😅
“Drummers Are Not Great At Writing Songs… No Offence To Drummers, That’s Just A Fact.”
Neil Peart of Rush: “Am I A Joke To You?”
Hahaha You guys take everything too literally... Of course there's exceptions to every rule!
Thanks that you chose "Dont Try Suicide" from "The Game" and not "Coming Soon". I love this song.
Haha I don’t mind Coming soon! I don’t know why people hate it so much…
Same! Thanks That you like it
@@devinlinhart5069 😁😁
I like Funny How Love Is but I get why you may not. However, I'm surprised you like 'The Loser in the End' over it. Thankfully he made a much better version for Sheer Heart Attack: I love Tenement Funster, especially as the opening track to that 3 song medley.
Edit: I love that you don't have to explain why 'Don't Try Suicide' is bad. Because it's so obvious! Don't treat a dark subject so flippantly, guys?
Edit 2: Completely with you on The Miracle and disliking Party/Kashoggi's Ship. I made a version of the album which cut them out, started with the title track, moved 'Hang on in There' into the main album and shuffled it up a bit. It sounds so much better that way.
Hey man thanks! Yeah to me loser in the end is definitely filler (they had to have a Roger song I suppose) but the drop of awesomeness, the contrast between the masterpiece that Black Queen is and the lameness of Funny makes me hate it more than I should probably! lol
Miracle had it included Hang on and Face it Alone would have been a better album for sure!
I have found a lot of people dislike "Funny How Love Is" I was lucky enough that I founded a band with a couple of friends who share the love for Queen a few years back, their favorite band as well, they both hated "Funny How Love Is" being right in the middle of Queen II since, unlike me, it was their favorite album of all time. (Mine is "Sheer Heart Attack".)
But I've also always disliked "Funny How Love Is", since the very beginning, since the first time I ever listened to it. In my head I was like: "Euuiiiiuaaaghhh what the fuck is that!!!???" Good enough it didn't last long…
Hahaha yeah… Queen II and SHA are amazing albums but going from Black Queen to Funny is a huuuuge drop! It resolves Black Queen well but it doesn’t really go anywhere on it’s own…
@@PatPosse I know, now, as a more mature person I can stand it but if it were my choice I'd erase it from the album.
@@FreddieHg37 I'm with you! I'd resolve the melody and go straight to See What a Fool I've Been for a closer!
I was expecting" body language" to be part.Thx u man!
Oh yeah! Glad to shine a light on that turd of a song lol. 🤣
Queen: My Fairy King
Queen II: The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke
Sheer Heart Attack: Now I'm Here
A Night At the Opera: I agree with you with "You're My Best Friend"
A Day At The Races: You Take My Breath Away (I like the Piano but I'm not a fan of the vocals)
News of the World: Get Down, Make Love
Jazz: Dreamers Ball
The Game: 1991 bonus remix of "Dragon Attack" made by R.A.K. and Jack Benson
Flash Gordon: I don't know, listening to the album feels like listening to the movie, but I'm not a fan of the single version of flash, I prefer the album version
Hot Space: Staying Power (Too much disco for me)
The Works: Man On The Prowl
A Kind of Magic: One Year of Love
The Miracle: My Baby Does Me
Innuendo: None (Love every track, even Delilah and All God's People)
Made In Heaven: Yeah & Track 13
Nice! I love the “fairies” on Queen’s first albums but other than that I can see why you chose those songs. Bonus Track remixes is cheating!! 🤣. I love dreamers ball 😁. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
News of the World is a Masterpiece. I`ve got it as LP, CD and the 2 Singles (We are the Champions/Spread your wings). The A-Side is very great, but the B-Side. Show at the songs "Get Down Make Love" or "Who Needs You". It is another style of Music. Why!? Good Video. Thanks
NOTW was the first actual album I ever got!! I listened to it soooo much lol. I had GH2 and fell in love with the band as an 11 yr old, then asked my mom to buy me more and for my birthday I got GH1 and NOTW. I remember even back then not being a fan of get down, but with time I understood it was a cool number live cause they got to do the light show with Brian’s playing and stuff… spread your wings and champions are amazing songs, it’s late is a great song as well and the closer is amazing I just wish they would have included the fast version of WWRY in the album. That would have been great!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
LOL. Same. I am 12 now, and I got it with 11. I agree you with the fast version of "We Will Rock You". It could be We Will Rock You...Revisited.
Hell yeah you are in the right track my friend!
Somehow, I ALMOST agree with your opinions. Here's what I mean:
Queen: 2nd least favorite (the night comes down)
Queen 2: 2nd least favorite (the loser in the end)
Sheer heart attack: 2nd least favorite (in the lap of the gods)
😂
A night at the opera: agree with 1 of them: (agree with sweet lady, good company is a close 2nd tho)
A day at the races: 4th least favorite (drowse)
Jazz: 2nd least favorire (more of that jazz)
The game: 2nd least favorite (coming soon)
Flash gordon: agree! Finally!
Hot space: agree as well
The works: wow, I also agree on this!
A kind of magic: hot streak of shared opinions!
The miracle: and it crashed down. 3rd and 5th worst, although miles better than last (my baby does me)
Innuendo: 2nd least favorite (deliah)
Made in heaven: disagree heavily with the first, agree with the second (my life has been saved)
His opinions are somehow both extremely similar and extremely different from mine.
Hahaha that's the great thing about Queen! Even if we had very opposing musical tastes there would be something for us to love!
Machines or Back to Humans is better than It's a Hard Life. That's a downer song when The Works is mostly uplifting music.
Very interesting topic for a beloved band!
My list:
Queen I: Modern Times Rock n Roll (too generic for me - Seven Seas fits well as an outro I suppose)
Queen II: Seven Seas Of Rhye (tough choice, overall a great album)
Sheer Heart Attack: Bring Back That Leroy Brown
A Night at the Opera: I'm In Love With My Car (What else? lol)
A Day at the Races: Tie Your Mother Down (not bad but never need to hear it again- I tend to skip Somebody to love too)
News of the World: Get Down, Make Love
Jazz: Fun It
The Game: Rock It (Prime Jive)
Flash gordon: The Ring
Hot Space: Body Language
The Works: Hammer To Fall (I often skip it)
A Kind of Magic: Princes Of The Universe
The Miracle: Party (what were they thinking?)
Innuendo: Delilah
Made in Heaven: I Was Born To Love You (I dig Let me Live and My life has been Saved big time)
Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Great list! I’m not surprised by any of your choices other than maybe tie your mother down since it’s a great rocking tune and princes of the universe which I dig even though it sounds pretty dated at this point… thanks for watching and commenting!
I first heard "Get Down Make Love" from NIN...
didnt know it was from Queen for a good while
Never heard that version lol. That’s interesting!
My least favorite per album
Queen I - Seven Seas Of Rhye
Queen II - Loser In The End
Sheer Heart Attack - She Makes Me
A Night At The Opera - Sweet Lady
A Day At The Races - Drowse
News Of The World - All Dead, All Dead
Jazz - Fun It
Flash Gordon - The Ring
Hot Space - Action This Day
The Works - Man On The Prowl
A Kind Of Magic - One Year Of Love
The Miracle - Party
Innuendo - Delilah
Made In Heaven - Yeah!
I can understand most of list.. I do love All Dead, All Dead and Drowse. One Year of Love is a great song but I could see why someone might not like ir. Everything else I totally understand and partially agree with.. Man on the Prowl is not necessarily a BAD song but I think they were trying to capitalize on Crazy Little Thing's success... Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse thanks for the compliment. Definitely Man On The Prowl is like a uninspired attempt at a follow up to Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Nonetheless, we have a pretty good similarities...
Great minds think alike brother! 😁😁
Wowowowow I was agreeing with all that you said, but...... Pain is so close to pleasure ????
That’s an ok track. Good vocals 🤷🏻♂️
I can’t listen to anything on „Cosmos Rocks“, had to skip each song, any memorable seconds I missed 😜? Except for (the song) „Sheer Heart Attack“ and the „Miracles“ you mentioned I am pretty happy with the albums.
I own the cosmos rocks ONLY because I am a completist… I don’t think I enjoy listening to that album at all… Return of the champions is way better (live with Paul Rodgers)
@@PatPosse True! I am happy to own the original CDs, so much dynamic potential of tweaking with studio tube and mastering devices 😛.
Hell yeah! I mostly have Hollywood Records releases and they sound great! I also have some parlophone Europeans and they all are awesome. I also have them all on vinyl and they sound great but different
Absolutley have to join in:
Queen - Jesus
Queen II - Funny how Love Is (really hard choice this album is almost perfect)
Sheer Heart Attack - She Makes Me
Night at the Opera - I'm In Love With My Car (I love this song, just really hard to choose on this perfect album)
Day at the Races - Drowse (Somebody to Love is my favourite song ever!)
News of the World - Fight From The Inside/Sheer Heart Attack (I get why SHA is good, but I always skip it)
Jazz - Mustapha/If You Can't Beat Them
The Game - Don't Try Suicide
Hot Space - Calling All Girls
The Works - Machines
A Kind of Magic - Don't Lose Your Head
The Miracle (My Least Favourite Album :( ) - My Baby Does Me/Party/Kashoggi's Ship/Rain Must Fall
Innuendo - Delilah (possibly the worst song I've ever heard from Queen)
Great list! I can agree with most… I dig Drowse and If you can’t beat them but I can’t really sit here and defend most of the others lol. I noticed you didn’t include Made in Heaven… such a grey area there lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse I think I didn't include this album because I don't listen to it often, it's sad to think Freddie died by this point :(. Apart from "Yeah" and "Untitled" I think it's a great album. Honestly I struggle to say my least favourite song from this Album as it's my favourite (joint with A Day at the Races), but if I had to (I think Yeah and Untitled aren't actual songs), I'd have to say My Life has been Saved, just becuase I don't listen to it often.
Honestly, most of my least favourite picks come down to what songs I don't listen to often. For example, Drowse, I love that song but it's probably the song I listen to least on the album so that's why I chose it. If I loaded up every Queen album and clicked play there's a 90% chance I'd love the tune. Such an iconic band :).
@@TheDefiningOfAwesome Awesome man!, fair enough! I almost NEVER Skip any songs... I was listening to Jazz and Innuendo on the car yesterday and today and I listened to both back to back twice lol. At this point I need the next song to resolve the previous one hahaha. Even when a Queen song comes on the radio, as soon as it's over I start humming or singing the next track off of whatever album that was from just to get some peace of mind! LOL I know, I'm nuts!
Jesus is awesome. Best song on the album. Son & Daughter is the worst, the rest of your choices are agreeable except perhaps on the Jazz album. 'More of that Jazz' is the weakest there but has a great bridge.
@@kurtmorris454 Son and Daughter rules! Heavy AF! Very Sabbath sounding!
9:51 Don't Lose Your Head wasn't a bonus track and wasn't even in the Miracle. It was in A Kind of Magic. Miracle had Hang on in There, Chinese Torture and the 12" Version of the invisible man as bonus tracks. BTW I don't like the 12" version of The Invisible Man. Wish they would have used at least the 12" version of Breakthru or other B-Side songs like Stealin' or My Life has been saved.
You are right. I meant hang on in there. It’s been clarified a few times on the comments already…
@@PatPosse Oh, I'm sorry, Didn't see the comments mentioning it.
That’s alright. I can’t believe I made that mistake either…
Awesome!!!
Thank you!! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
Even if you made an album of the “bad songs” it would still be better than the entire Colplay catalog.
Hahaha damn straight!!
My list:
Queen I: Doing All Right.
Queen II: Funny How Love Is.
Sheer Heart Attack: She Makes Me and Misfire.
A Night at the Opera: Sweet Lady.
A Day at the Races: Drowse.
News of the World: Fight from the Inside.
Jazz: Fun It.
The Game: Sail Away Sweet Sister.
Hot Space: Las Palabras del Amor.
The Works: It's a Hard Life.
A Kind of Magic: Friends Will Be Friends.
The Miracle: The Invisible Man.
Innuendo: Bijou.
Made in Heaven: the hidden one.
Wow I love Bijou, Sail Away Sweet Sister and It's a hard life!! I can definitely agree with some of the others and Las Palabras de Amor is a close second for me to Body Language. I don't get why people love it so much... Doing all Right is a cool song knowing that it was actually a Smile song and it was HEAVY for it's time. Freddie doing a great job covering this track... I get why someone wouldn't like the other songs on your list though..
Thanks for watching and commenting!
'Funny how love is' is a great melody and a good composition, experimenting with a capella as they were heavily into in those days. I can see your concept here, but since Queen 2 was meant to be some kind of concept album, I don't think you can isolate it. Aaah, She makes me, wow, I was totally blown away by that, the breaths... I really got that. I appreciate all opinions, but I lost you there. Somebody to love ... come on? I agree on WWRY. But Get down make love? Ow ... Jazz is great, man! And you're wrong about Roger's songs. His and John's songs were often the link to newly emerging genres, keeping Queen alive. The Game , okay, I agree. And although being a hard rocker, I also agree on Hot Space. Just watch the live dvd and you know these songs actually work. Machines on The Works is just a Roger song if you ask me. It blends with his solo work. And yes, on It's a kind of magic it is pretty hard to find a bad one, especially since we were all rooting for them after Live Aid. And yup, I hate The Miracle. Agreed on Innuendo and Made in heaven. Good video, though. There's two kinds of music: music you love and music you don't love. Keep on loving.
I agree 100% with your first statement. I can't think of March of the Black Queen without it resolving back to Funny... I wish it were shorter I guess haha. She makes me is a boring and bland song, that being said, the production is great. Good bridge, the breaths... it's just not as awesome as it's counterparts on that album. Somebody to love is of course an amazing song, it just never resonated with me and I've heard it one too many times (and then some). I love Deacy and Rog songs lol! Roger's are just not as strong as Fred's or Brian's, that's all I meant. I actually like most of Taylor's solo stuff.. Happiness being my favorite album from him.
Thanks for watching and commenting boss. Music is life 💪🏼
12:00 But "Yeah" and "Untitled" are the greatest hits though
Hahahaha
For me, Roger Taylor usually writes the stuff I like least. Even the ”big ones” like Radio Ca-Ca and I am sexually attracted to my car. Pointless garbage.
Drowse, Loser in the End, Sheer Heart Attack, Fun it… ugh…
But still Hot Space is way worse… total shitfest. The production destroys any hope of a single decent track.
Haha I hear ya… I like some of his stuff although Radio is not a great song IMO lol In love with my car is definitely better live and loser in the end… well, I think we all lost there lol
Mine would probably be Modern Times Rock in Roll, Loser in the end, Tenement Funster, Sweet Lady, Drowse, sheer heart attack, fun it, Rock it, Almost all of Hot space, Machines ( back to human), don’t loose your head, rain must fall, and Delilah
and I can see why… I don’t mind tenement funster, Drowse and don’t lose your head (which is a bonus track, not included in the original album) and Sheer Heart Attack is a classic song for me, but the others are definitely some of the weakest links on their discography.
I would agree except for fun it. instead, more of that Jazz
Nice to hear some love for Hot Space an underrated album.
I love me some Hot Space!! I’m not going to lie, I hated it in the beginning but after giving it an honest chance (and listening to the live versions of some of these songs) I really grew to appreciate it. Also, giving the context, it’s a great album! Even out of their comfort zone, Queen Kills it!!
great video, i agree in most of the cases. by the way, i like hot space as an album much more than many others, maybe i was lucky to discover it without prejudices in my head. at least, it has a strong unity, while the albums after A night at the opera, sometimes feel just a collection of different tastes, and with no conceptual ambition as a whole.
oh, i disagree with All God's people, follows perfectly the theme of the album. Maybe its outro is weak, i admit. Painful as it is to say, i'd say maybe Delilah is the weakest, thou i used to imagine Freddie saying beautifully Goodbye to one of his cats.
it's curious the evolution of each member on composing contribution. taylor's songs used to be, to my taste, really out of place in the '70s' albums, as if the band had to transform into another band on them, but then him a deacon turned out to be the 1st or 2nd hit single producers in the 80s, whilst Freddie's piano ballads would make the 3rd single, and May's rocky ones the 4rd, generally speaking. cheers
Haha I see what you are saying! Delilah is a close second, I don’t particularly dislike the song but it’s just not as cool as the other ones on the album although it varies between Delilah and I can’t live with you for my least favorite on the album (except gods people)
Thanks for watching and commenting!!
More controversies...? Son & Daughter / The Loser in the End / Stone Cold Crazy / Sweet Lady / The Millionaire Waltz / Get Down, Make Love / More of That Jazz / Don´t Try Suicide / In the Death Cell / Body Language / Tear it up / Friends Will Be Friends / Khashoggi´s Ship / Delilah / A Winter Tale.
Controversial to say the least!! Hahaha. Some amazing songs on that list but that is your truth and I accept and respect it! 😁🤘🏻
Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@PatPosse As we say here in Brazil, taste is like @$$, everyone has their own. Hahahaha. But in some cases, they are the ones I like least from each album.
HAHAHA that's funny. In USA "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they all stink!"
@@PatPosse Interesting. The only difference is that yours is more complete. Ours is just more direct.
Totally. Both are very accurate though
brilliant concept - let's listen to SPACE something album but not really that bad.
I don’t HATE hot space haha
All God’s People is a great song in my opinion, it is more gospel, and Freddie does some incredible singing on that song. The song was meant for his Barcelona album, it was meant as an African gospel song. Speaking of a perfect album, I think Freddie’s Barcelona album is a perfect album of incredible music, but it might be to operatic for some people, and not operatic enough for other people.
She Makes Me is a psychedelic song. It is about obsession, restriction and just a very bad type of relationship, it is an interesting song but one has to be in the right mood for it.
Funny How Love Is, was a call back to Freddie’s first recordings of Goin’ Back and I can hear music. Mike Stone or Mike Anthony really loved the Phil Spector, wall of sound, R&B girl group type of sound. The song was somewhat of a tribute to the engineer that originally gave Queen the chance to record at Trident studios. I don’t think it is a bad song, it is very different from the rest of the album, perhaps they could have included See What A Fool I Am in that spot. But in truth Roger’s Loser In The End also does not really fit with the rest of the album, but it is a fun Roger song.
I don’t mind Don’t Try Suicide, Freddie wrote the song because he had a boyfriend that constantly threatened suicide, when Freddie wanted to leave him. I can see why he wrote the song, the song actually has quite a nice rock’s roll feel. It is at least interesting, something like Coming Soon is more bland.
The lyrics of Body Language is pretty bad, but do like the baseline and the overall sound, it would have been a better song if it had better lyrics.
From The Works I would have chosen Radio Gaga, that is a song I never need to hear again, although I do like Brian May’s guitar solo. From A Kind Magic, I would have picked, Don’t Lose Your Head. They make some strange selections for The Miracle album, there a few songs that never made it onto the album, that are better then some songs on the album.
From Innuendo I would have picked Delilah, I don’t actually mind hearing Delilah but it does not fit into the album that well.
From Jazz, I would have picked In Only Seven Days, it is not bad, but I think something else would have fitted in better. For A Day At The Races, it would have chosen either Drowse or Long Away, they are just somewhat bland songs. You do hear Somebody To Love a lot, but I don’t mind. From News Of The World it is We Will Rock you, but the fast version is certainly far better. I don’t mind hearing it, but I am going to go out of my way to hear it. I would have picked Fight From The Inside.
Some great choices here! Nice list. I like that you took the time to explain why, thanks for that. Barcelona is a great album, I love How Can I go on the best on that album. Monserrat’s voice gets on my nerves though. I love Freddie’s parts but it’s hard for me to listen to that album 😣
Just started really getting into Queen and this is pretty helpful. Surprised people don’t play “Tie Your Mother Down” or “Hammer to Fall” more often. I am so sick of the hits from News of the World
They are awesome classics that get overlooked sometimes… huge Queen fan here! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Then try the amazing It's late, which many people have never heard, including many Queen fans I suspect. Much deeper and more interesting than either We will rock you or We are the champions.
@@davecole2561 One of the best songs off of News of the World... (if not THE best)
Wow, I totally agree with pretty much every song you mention, except that I like Body Language. :). And on Kind of Magic, I dislike A Kind of Magic, heard it too many times. Innuendo, I dislike Delilah. Also I am not sure if Made in Heaven is a Queen album.
Hey man! That’s awesome! A kind of magic is a cool song but I get why people dislike Delilah. I don’t care much for it either but I dislike all gods people more! Made in Heaven is a grey area but I consider it a Queen album, it features all 4 members and some great tunes. Queen+PR on the other hand… nope! Lol
I hate body language hahaha
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I researched all these songs and... I loved them dude I do what to tell ya
They don’t necessarily suck lol. Sometimes they are just the least awesome one on the album, sometimes they just don’t fit in with the rest of the songs on the record and sometimes yeah, they do suck haha
Thanks for watching and commenting!
A song beeing overplayed doesn’t make it a bad song per se. It’s very tempting to rate a song lower just because it’s been played to death…
Besides: nice video, but don’t underestimate Roger Taylor as an overall musician. He is the king of backingvocals. He‘s the raspy high voice that made Queens backing vocals unique (together with Freddie and Brian of course).
Of course I love and value Rog, the fact that he's the weakest writer in Queen has nothing to do with him being a bad writer, he's just paired with 3 monsters!
The overplayed thing might have been lost in Edition but of course I can be objective and say a song is great even if I can't stand it (and viceversa!)

Nooooooo Prophet’s Song is one of the best songs ever!!! BUT! I do get bored with the “canon” part and wish it were shorter. They could have done that live as they do with Brian’s solo and trimmed it down a bit. But the music, arrangements and Lyrics are top notch (objectively speaking) subjectively though, your truth is as right as mine 😉. Queen II does rule!!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse I agree! is a super song but I always skipped the vocal canon part.. that makes it the less enjoyable song of the album..
@@AngelHadzi For sure bud!
I agree with everything except Prophet song. It's not to long, songs that are to long are ones that are repetitive or redundant. Prophet song is neither, it stays fresh throughout and is the most remarkable song listening to it with headphones on.
I love the song but I would trim down that damn canon. But it’s one of my 3 favorite songs on ANATO
Totally agree about "Sweet Lady" and "some kind of cheese"!
😅 must be a British thing… lol
Queen: Jesus
Queen II: Funny How Love Is
Sheer Heart Attack: She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos)
A Night At The Opera: God Save The Queen
A Day At The Races: Drowse
News Of The World: We Will Rock You
Jazz: Leaving Home Ain't Easy
Flash Gordon: Ming's Theme
The Game: Don't Try Suicide
Hot Space: Body Language
The Works: Is This The World We Created...?
A Kind Of Magic: Don't Lose Your Head
The Miracle: Party
Innuendo: Delilah
Made in Heaven: Yeah
I actually don’t care for Jesus either until the kickass solo! Made in Heaven’s “yeah” is a joke lol. I don’t know why it’s a track on it’s own even though it’s not listed on the album… is this the world we created is a great song though and a rare instance of Fred and Bri sitting down to write a song together from start to finish…
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse Jesus is good. It's just the least favorite song from this album. But, it's still good. is this the world we created is also great, it's just a little out of tune with the overall tone of the album. But both of these songs are still cool
@@user-qw2xu8qv1l Damn straight my dude!
I think what I hate the most about Funny How Love Is it's the fact that it is linked to the previous song, the amazing masterpiece The March of the Black Queen. I mean, that song is unbelievable and it ends on a high note, it has you so deep into it and then when it's over, you have this great transition that resolves into, yes, Funny how love is. That's kind of disappointing
I agree 100% That makes it all the worse..
It doesn't fit on QUEEN II the transition is off somewhat like the theme. Going into Seven Seas Of Rhye melody would have been better.
A good selection of choices though I’d say “Misfire” from SHA is worse than “She Makes Me” and I’d substitute “Sweet Lady (as cheesy as those lyrics are) with “Good Company (even though the guitar/brass orchestration is incredible). “Somebody To Love” is untouchable in my opinion - but I think ADATR is a faultless album. Innuendo - hands down: “Delilah”…it’s dreadful - I really don’t need to hear Freddie doing cat impersonations! Lol.
Misfire is not bad given the fact that it was Deaky's first attempt at a song here! Good Company's amazing arrangements make it a great tune IMO but i get why you might not dig it as much. Somebody to love is a great song, of course. and Delilah... oh well, lol just the guys having fun I suppose hahaha
Princes of the Universe is my favourite Queen song
It’s dated but I do love it 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Absolutely love Funny How Love Is...its a perfect Phil Spector pastiche.
people keep repeating that fact but a recording/producing technique does not make it a good song...
He realy said he would rather listen to 20 minutes white noise rather than song when all freddie roger and brian may sing.
Haha a TRACK is not a SONG. But you make a funny observation 🤣🤣
albums best / worst: Queen-Jesus / Son & Daughter; Queen II - Ferry Feller's Master stroke (best song in the world) / See What a Fool I've been (Their worst or at least this version); SHA - Killer Queen & Bring Back Leroy Brown (tie) / Stone Cold Crazy; NATO - Bohemian Rhapsody (2nd best song ever) / Sweet Lady; DATR - Good Old Fashion../ White Man; NOTW -...Champions / Get down Make Love; Jazz - Leaving home Aint EZ / More of that Jazz (Love the bridge though); Game - Play the Game / Need You're Lovin.. (skipping Flash) HS- Staying Power / Cool Cat; TW- Hammer to Fall / Keep Passing .... (great bridge though); KOM - Friends will be Friends / One Year of Love (Bleahhh) ; Miracle - I Want it All / My Baby Does Me; Innuendo - Show Must go on (3rd greatest song ever) / Delilah; MIH - Let Me Live / Mother Love (I realize the significance but still don't care for it); Cosmos Rocks - We Believe / All of Paul Rodgers songs (except Call Me)
I did not put any strike through lines in the above that are at least showing on my computer. Not sure why it shows. Perhaps because my computer is so old.
I got some STRONG disagreements! But that’s the best part about Queen, they catered to everyone! Thanks for watching and commenting, more Queen content coming up soon!
I used to feel bad how much I disliked Seven Seas of Rye....not anymore. N I don't like Roger's songs. Feels cheesey....not that all Freddie's or Brian's were perfect but they were so much better!
I do love Under Pressure. Got a line from it tattooed on my leg. "This is our last dance"
I’ve never been a huge fan of Seven Seas of Rhye either… lol. Rog was always the weakest writer on Queen but he did have some killer tunes just Fred and Bri were on another level! (And Deacy’s contributions were mostly hits)
Also, Awesome line to have tattooed on!

Kid the only two songs I hate from Mom is we will rock you and someone without love reason why I hate someone without love is because Nate Ruess sing the songs with them
What are you talking about?
My favourite song is i was born to love you i also like the Freddy version
I like Queen’s version 100 times better! Great song either way though !
@@PatPosse i also imagine Maroon five doing a song like party i think they did similar things by the way they are also my favourite to

Queen 2, The Loser in the End. Not a bad song by any stretch but doesn't fit in.
I agree 100% it's the oddball for sure!
Queen is my favorite band, and I only truly dislike a handful of their songs. We agree on several. My list...
Queen - Seven Seas of Rhye
Queen II - See What a Fool I've Been
Sheer Heart Attack - In the Lap of the Gods (NOT ...Revisited)
Night at the Opera - Sweet Lady
Day at the Races - Drowse
News of the World - My Melancholy Blues
Jazz - Fun It
The Game - Don't Try Suicide
Hot Space - Body Lauguage (truly hate this song)
The Works - Machines
A Kind of Magic - Don't Lose Your Head
The Miracle - My Baby Does Me
Innuendo - All God's People
That’s a good list! I can agree with most. See what a fool I’ve been was not included in the original album, it’s a bonus track so I cut it some slack, I do love my melancholy blues I think it showcases Fred’s piano playing and vocals greatly. I also love the guitar kick on my baby does me, Brian’s tone and phrasing is awesome (although I agree that the song is rather boring)… I can relate to your list, Queen being my favorite band of all time and the reason why I ever became a musician, it’s hard to bash on them 😅. Thanks or watching and commenting !
It always sounded to me like with “Get Down Make Love”, i think they were trying to do thier own “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin…
I can see that…
FUNNY HOW LOVE IS is the greatest ADVERTISING song that's never been used on television - but only if.
Hahahaha it does sound like a jingle!
"She Makes Me" is honestly one of my top 5 favorite Queen tracks because it's hauntingly beautiful in a way. Brian May wrote it while in the hospital recovering from hepatitis C, and the song is kind of a collection of thoughts he had as he believed he was dying. I understand why you wouldn't like it, as it is a bit repetitive in nature. I guess I just can't hate anything Brian May wrote because he's my favorite, but I'll agree that "Sweet Lady" is easily the worst track on ANATO.
Brian May is THE man and my biggest influence. That being said, she makes me is a pretty bland song. 😣
It’s a great song.
@@simontyne3032 meh at best.
@@simontyne3032 I know. The breathing at the end, the ambulance sounds, the constant marching drum beat that sounds like footsteps, the whole thing has a sort of psychedelic vibe. It's so unlike anything else Brian wrote.
@@mikaylachapman9036 That's true.. maybe it's the fact that it's a bit out of character that turns me off.. all of that though is production and not necessarily something Brian wrote or even thought about...
Funny how love is is one of the worst songs. And a few off Jazz and a few off Hot Space. Don't try suicide is up there with the worst as well. Loser in the end...a few off The Miracle, a few off Innuendo. Great King Rat...a few off A Kind of Magic...Misfire...I'm in love with my car...a couple off of A Day in the Races...Sleeping on the sidewalk
On man! I love Great king Rat! 😁🤘🏻
I'm pleased you went with both Party AND Khashoggis Ship, the worst one/two opening punch on an album from a major artist i can think of. They're barely songs, what were they thinking?!?!
I know right? They might have been not that bad had they been apart and somewhere around the middle of the album lol. They just suck at opening the album!
I can see why you don't like Funny How Love Is, but I think Someday One Day and Loser in the End are both worse songs on Queen II.
She Makes Me is a really good song that I really like, I never understood the hate for it, but each to their own.
I absoulutely agree with Sweet Lady. I hate that song and always skip it when I listen to ANATO.
Again, absolutely agree with Get Down Make Love.
I definitely empathise with your takes on the overplayed Queen songs, but I have to forgive them because when I'm in a group of friends and Somebody to Love starts playing, we can all sing along at the top of out lungs.
She makes me is just bland and boring. It does pick up during the chorus I just like every other song on that album way better! I can totally picture y’all screaming Somebody to Love! That’s gotta be fun! 😁
Thanks for watching and commenting!
definitely agree with your reply and with those 2 songs on Queen II if you don't count the bonus 'See what a fool I've been' which is their worst song (at at least the Queen II version)
I actually don’t hate See What a Fool I’ve been but it doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the Queen catalog lol
@@PatPosse the song would be OK if Freddie didn't sing it so flamboyantly.
@@kurtmorris454 Haha he was going full-on Robert Plant on that track!
I absolutely do not like body language or get down make love. But all the rest are either masterpieces, excellent, fantastic or good musically, with great vocals from Freddie. I've been a Queen fan since 1974, grew up with them, I was able to flow with them always.😊
I am soooo jealous. I was born in 86 so there was no way for me to see them live. My mom did make it to a show back in 82 and I got to see Brian and Roger on the Queen+PR tour but that was it for me. 😢.
@@PatPosse The live shows can't be beat.
I agree 100%. They were AMAZING in the studio. Best band ever. But somehow they managed to make it even better live!! There’s a video coming up about it actually lol
agreed until all gods people. i find that song so epic. but it seems most people dont understand it because it has the lowest streams out of the rest. wait i forgot i also disagree with under pressure. that songs sooo good no matter how many times its been played
I've been a Queen fan since I was 12 and even back then when I first got The Game I immediately thought All God's People was lame and bland. Definitely the low point on Innuendo (that an Delilah) but at least it's not as bad as some of the other entries on this list lol. Pressure is of course a great song just way overplayed for me. Clearly I like it since I chose the god awful Body Language for that album hehehe.
That streams fact is interesting though... it goes to show it's not a great song and definitely overshadowed by the rest of the album... that's the only reason why it would be played less than Don't Try Suicide lol
Sounds like he doesn't know when to change the radio to avoid wearing out certain songs
Nope. Never learned how to dial😓. That’s why I buy music, fuck the radio!
In my opinion:
Queen: Seven Seas Of Rhye
Queen II: Funny How Love Is
Sheer Heart Attack: Misfire
A Night At The Opera: Sweet Lady
A Day At The Races: You Take My Breath Away
News Of The World: Get Down Make Love
Jazz: Fun it
Flash Gordon: Vultan's Theme
The Game: Another One Bites The Dust
Hot Space: Body Language
The Works: Radio Gaga
A Kind Of Magic: Don't Lose your head
The Miracle: Party
Innuendo: Delilah
Made in Heaven: Heaven For Everyone
Plus I also don't like "Seven Seas of Rhye" on Queen II that much either, my least favorite track there after "Funny How Love is". Mos tof the songs mentioned in the video aren't my favorite either.
Hey man! Yeah I can totally relate with your list! Although I think you take my breath away is a great song (and awesome when performed live) I can definitely agree with most of your picks! Bites the Dust is waaaay over played at this point and misfire is just ok. Delilah is a close second on Innuendo 😅. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@PatPosse You Take My Breath Away is great but as many said, out of all the great songs there are to love about Queen the least good are still pretty decent or nice. I just think it could have been better or better executed, with better instrumentation, that's why I don't like it, ballads in particular aren't my favorites to begin with and much less cheesy, poppy tunes, if it was well executed or better arranged in a more interesting or progressive way I'd totally like it but it feels empty or lacking to my ears, it sounds unfinished and unappealing to me as well as that vocal chorus outro, which I find catastrophic, if it was again better constricted or better arranged it would be a different story, to me it sounds disjointed and unfinished as a whole and I don't like that, I don't mind "bad songs" but what I really can't stand are mediocre songs or "unfinished songs";and that's what it sounds to me, both.
I agree with the outro on it... definitely not a fan of that...
Even Queen's least good songs are better than every modern artist's catalog
Facts.
You look like a BIG hot space fan. I bet you listen to it everyday 😉
🤣🤣🤣 I don’t listen to it everyday! But I do think it’s not as bad as it’s made up to be… the use of actual drums would have gone a long way towards it not being hated as much!
@@PatPosse you are 💯 correct. The live versions KILL!! especially because of Roger's drums. But the best songs on the album were never played live I don't think. Life is Real, Las Palabras and Dancer.
I don’t care for Palabras for some reason… life is real is a great track and dancer has a very cool swing to it! Cool Cat is also one of my faves!
Bro just thought Flash Gordon came before the game 💀
The Game, then Flash Gordon. Best way to remember is think about crazy little thing and save me being singles from the game and transition Freddie look, 80s hair and no mustache, then Play the Game, another one bites the dust from The Game with the mustache, and then think about Flash, Freddie is already rocking it 😉💪🏻
I agree with most of your pics and overall assessment of the albums. Really hate body language, probably the only Queen song that is actually a really bad song. I also find the lyrics of One Year of Love far too cheesy and almost embarrassing, so I also dislike that song.
Well let’s be honest😅: Don’t Try Suicide, My Baby Does Me also suck and Delilah is really stupid, but also kind of funny!
Haha I feel the same way about Delilah. I agree with One Year of Love but it’s a very 80s song and it fits the movie, Deaky was in a very cheesy mood that day lol
I agree about Fun It
😅
I can't say which ones are my least favorite because I am not as Queen savvy as others.
Better get on it! 😁😉
Finally somebody who agrees that under pressure is overrated… great video!
Thank you bud!! I got tons of shit for it lol. 😂
Ooof, my choices are definitely gonna make some people (slightly) mad:
Queen - I don't know what to say. The album is quite consistent.
Queen II - Funny how Love Is (this production style doesn't fit the song)
Sheer Heart Attack - Dear Friends
A Night at the Opera - Love Of My Life (the song is great, I just prefer the live version more)
A Day at the Races - eeeerrr... Honestly, I don't know.
News of the World - We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions (I'd rather eat a cactus than hear these great, but overdone songs again)
Jazz - BIcycle Race (I never liked the BIIIIIIICYCLE... BIIIIICYCLE refrain)
The Game - Rock It (cut the boring intro, make Roger louder in the mix, please)
Hot Space - Body Language (the song doesn't work at all. Even Glenn Quagmire, the horniest character I know, wouldn't be aroused by it)
The Works - Machines
A Kind of Magic - Don't Lose Your Head
The Miracle - Party/My Baby Does Me (boooooring. They should've started the album with Khashoggi's Ship)
Innuendo - Don't Try So Hard (I don't like Freddie's singing on it)
Made In Heaven - the ending of Mother Love (I know about the significance of the song, and the way Freddie screams "Out in the city..." is spine-chilling, but the ending sounds so ridiculous. The "Aaaayyyy-o" sing-along piece, the mish-mash of songs, the crying baby? It all sounds out of place in a pretty dark song. Did they want to show the character's last memories before death and rebirth? I would prefer a simple fade-out)
HAHAHA "Eat a Cactus" I feel ya... Rock it (Prime Jive) is ok... Mother Love I LOVE. The ending (just in case you didn't know it, not trying to be a smart-ass) is supposed to be a backwards recap of some of Freddie's moments all the way back to "Goin' Back" (Fred's first Single) and the baby crying at the end. It's a cool montage.
@@PatPosse Thank you for explaining the ending, but I still really don't like it. Oh well. At least, I can just gently turn down the volume after Brian's verse to make it seem like the song is fading out)
No problem! I just wanted to explain what it was. I don’t mind it at all but you are entitled to hate it if you want to 🤣. We can agree on body language (and other flops lol)
Can't blame a song because it gets played so much, it's not the song's fault. I used to love the Bee Gees 'Stayin alive but got so tired of hearing it all the time but I still realize it's a great song and I try not to fault it just because it is played so often.
Interesting, I think Freddie’s sounds incredible on Don’t Try So Hard.
Sweet Lady is definitely the weakest song on A Night At The Opera. Not bad, but on such a standout album that song is rather plain and uninteresting. But I need to make a special shoutout to Don't Try Suicide from The Game. That song's lyrics miss the point SO BADLY to the point of being downright offensive. It downplays and trivializes the struggles that suicidal people go through, almost making a whimsical joke out of it, really what was Freddie thinking when he wrote this?
That’s the way I see Sweet Lady too. I don’t think it sucks, it’s just my least favorite on the album…
Don’t try suicide truly blows.
There was a reason why Freddie wrote the song. He had a boyfriend, that constantly threatened to commit suicide, when Freddie wanted to leave him. Suicide should always be handled with care, but there are people who uses threats of suicide as a weapon or a form of manipulation against other people. People do not like to admit this, but unfortunately there are some very manipulative people in the world that would use any tool at their disposal. The song is from that point of view, these days it not very PC to admit these simple truths. The song does actually have a nice rock n roll vibe.
Oh man, I’ve been there… until I finally cracked and told her to “go ahead”. I knew it was an empty threat but I couldn’t call her bluff…
Once I did, she stopped. She did figure out something else to manipulate me with. Good thing she’s long gone away from my life.
How you can like Man on the Prowl more than Machines on the The Works is mind boggling.
Easy ! Man on the prowl is actually a more complex song, better arrangements, even a cool piano jam in the end and maybe a better rockabilly song than crazy little thing, it feels rushed and out of place but it’s not bad. Machines is pretty bland for the most part…
I really like she makes me but I understand how people don’t like it
I actually exaggerated a bit on it. It’s not THAAAAAT bad a song… I just think it’s not as great as some of the other stuff on the album. I have my days with it lol
Funny how love is, is great
Meh. Never cared for it. Never will… too monotonous and the lyrics… 🤦🏻♂️
I never liked Under Pressure.
I get it.
I’m not a big queen fan, awesome musician and singer , I like sheer heart attack , stone cold crazy , get down make love and it’s late. That’s about it for me
Keep up the great work
If you like the heavier stuff there’s tons of awesome tracks! Stone Cold Crazy and Sheer Heart Attack are great examples, it’s late is way underrated!
Some of my favorite heavy tracks would be
Son and Daughter (huge sabbath vibes!)
Ogre Battle (maybe the first thrash metal song ever!)
Flick of the wrist and
Death on two legs (Doomy chromatic riffing 🤘🏻)
The prophet’s song (Brian’s song writing at it’s best)
White Man (heavy drop D riffing)
Gimme the Prize and Princes of the universe (80’s heavy metal!)
Was it all worth it (a banger intended to be Freddie’s Farewell)
Innuendo, The Hitman and Show Must Go On (just epic songs with a a very frail Freddie but his vocals at his best!)
Hope you love them !
Thanks for watching and commenting! 😁
@@PatPosse awesome points thanks for that list I will check those songs out . Honestly the game was the last queen album I ever bought and that was in I think 1980. You rock brother
I will be honest with you I have a guilty pleasure band Tesla, they aren’t even close to what I normally listen too but maybe you can do a segment on them just a thought
Nice! I’m not a Tesla fan, not familiar with their material honestly 😅.
On the other hand, the game might just be my least favorite album now lol. People LOVE it but it happens to be very consistently bland for me lol. It does have some great tracks like Save me, Play the Game and Sail Away Sweet Sister.. but also same lame-os like Rock it (great intro but it just goes down hill from there), Don’t try suicide, coming soon and some good but overplayed songs like another one bites the dust and crazy little thing lol. This album just doesn’t have the depth all previous albums had …
Dont Lose your head was released on Magic not on Miracle. You are totally wrong sry.
Yup. I was thinking of “hang on in there”
I’m surprised you didn’t say untitled or yeah is the worst on made in heaven
I don't count those as songs... Yeah! is just a clip off of Don't Try Suicide and 13 (aka Dead or Untitled) Is more of a hidden background thing but I guess it's more of a song... I just wanted to keep it more interesting and get some convos going... Who's gonna argue with "Yeah" being the worst song? lol!
But yeah, for sure those are the worst tracks on the album.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Somebody to Love? - ouch. A true classic. One of the best songs ever written imo. It stands head and shoulders above everything else on that album. I get it - you're tired of listening to it, so from a subjective point of view it's your least favourite track on the album - but from an objective point of view, to call Somebody To Love the WORST song on A Day At The Races is possibly the worst take I have ever heard.
I agree 100%. I can’t say it’s the worst song at all. That’s why I said it’s probably my least favorite. But it’s an amazing song!
@@PatPosse Okay, that's fair. I think I was taking the title of the video a little too literally - the WORST songs from each album. If it's your least favourite due to overfamiliarity, then I get it. It's different to it being the 'worst'. I actually agree with a lot of your picks here, particularly All God's People - I love Innuendo, but it'd be such a stronger album for me without that song on it. Anyway, now I've got over my shock about Somebody To Love, I enjoyed the video, thanks!
Hahaha Definitely a bit of clickbait there but the idea was that, me commenting about which I believe are the worst tracks on the albums... Somebody to Love was just an asterisk since I think it's a GREAT song that got overplayed to me. (I do enjoy the live versions a lot more same happens to me with 'Pressure'). You had the right to be appalled by it though! I'd flip out if someone said Somebody to Love sucked LOL.
Thanks for watching and commenting, and more so, thanks for letting me explain my point further before getting all crazy like most people online do, haha!
Cheers!!
Ps, F*ck "All God's People"!! haha
Now I am angry
No need 🤷🏻♂️
I know you love queen, how hard was this to make? hahahavwvw
Best band ever ! It wasn’t hard, I’ve made my peace with the fact that not every song rules!
don't lose your head is on a kind of magic, so it couldn't be on the miracle, maybe you meant something else?
Good looking out! I meant hang on in there!
drummers can't write songs? Dave Grohl, Neil Peart, and Bill Bruford can write songs!!! "Funny How Love Is". I love that track. "You're My Best Friend"? Great track. "Fun It!"? Another cool song. "Under Pressure" is very good, but the rest of Hot Space is garbage... it stinks. I agree with you on all the others. .... but I really lost interest in Queen after the Game.
The drummer thing was clearly a joke lol. There’s gotta be some humor in a video 😁. Queen has some awesome songs after 1980 but they did change. The 70s stuff is more solid work but you are missing out amazing songs like I Want it All, Who Wants to Live Forever, Show Must Go On, Innuendo (to name a few…)
Queen one of the most overrated bands of all time. I do love The Game and bought it when it came out and do own all their albums but honestly the production is absolute garbage on most of their albums. But the songs are weak and Freddie can be so annoying with his opera singing I do love them live and they are much better live than most of their studio stuff.
Even though I agree that their Live performances are AMAZING I can't say I can agree with you.. In fact, I've always felt they were totally unappreciated and underrated (until the BoRhap movie came up and suddenly EVERYBODY loved Queen) But every member is an absolute legend on their instrument, their Vocal harmonies and guitar orchestrations were flawless. Freddie's voice it's on a league all on it's own and a tight and versatile rhythm section with John on bass and Rog on drums that any band would die for. The songs not only are NOT weak but they recorded the first truly Thrash Metal song back in 1974 and had protothrash metal songs as far back as their second album. They also had a huge influence (and were influenced by) bands like Black Sabbath (who are anything BUT weak) on songs like Son and Daughter from their first album. What you might mistake for "weak" is the fact that the radio stations would favour their more accessible (albeit commercial) songs which were more pop oriented but Queen did it all, from latin, folk and even foxtrot oriented songs like Seaside Rendezvous to hard hitting heavy metal songs like I Want it All, the Hitman or Gimme The Prize. I'd suggest deep diving into their extensive and VERY diverse discography and reconsidering your statement as they are anything except overrated!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Any excuse to turn someone into more Queen is great in my book! Keep Rocking!
when you call your list 'WORST SONGS' and then pick Somebody To Love which is so great that you listened to it too many times and now you have to skip it. Great logic man. But let's skip this list from that moment thanks
Welcome to the internet where you are free to watch whoever you want and people have different opinions than yours! It’s about time you joined the rest of the world! 🤦🏻♂️
Somebody to love! Wow... 😒
I guess you didn’t understand what I said…
@@PatPosse I did. Did you?
@@jjbast Of course, I clearly said it's a great song and I'm just tired of it...
@@PatPosse You can never be tired of a great song.
@@jjbast who died and made you sheriff of my tiredness?? gtfoh
Love Queen, favorite album is Jazz. Favorite song on it is Mustafa.
Did you know that Billy Corgan said in an interview i saw that he's spent his entire life trying to obtain the same tone as Brian May? I brought that up in a Billy Corgan forum and, like everyone jumped down my throat for saying that. They called me a lier (yeah because that's something worth lying about haha) They were all saying " nope, Billy Corgan was trying to get Tony Iommis sound". Like get your heads out of your asses, nobody who plays guitar is only after the same tone as 1 man only.
Wow I had no idea! never been a fan of his but I can relate! lol. And forget haters, they suck!
Queen has few bad songs. I'd say Coming Soon, Body Language, Put Out the Fire, Dancer (actually half of Hot Space), Rain Must Fall, My Baby Soes Me, Yeah and Untitled are the ones I despise the most. Also Machines is really forgettable. On the other hand, can't understand why people bash on Delilah, it's not a masterpiece but it's a cute little song
Coming soon is not that bad... Put out the fire is pretty bad except for the solo and maybe live. Delilah is just them having fun I suppose...
Queen's worst songs are still better than most bands. Oh I hate Body Language from Hot Space.
I agree with you 100%!!
Sorry, always thought this, just because you are a devout fan of any given band, not everything they write is anything vaguely like their best stuff. You should not make excuses when a bands output is low par. If it's crap, it's crap. I was a devout Bowie fan, earlier stuff. But for years, from Lets Dance, up until The Next Day, he went right off the boil and just about everything he outputted was awful and u-musical, experimental in sound exploration, yes, but musically and songwriting quality were awful. Enjoy the best, forget about the rest.
Totally! I love Queen but I can be objective and say some songs are just not that great…
I do not know if you like Rush. Neil Peart was the main songwriter for the band.
I am not a fan but I knew that. The comment was a pinch of humor. Even though usually drummers are not great writers there’s some great exceptions! Neil definitely being one of them..
