The arcade version had a "hyper' mode. When you had the pedal flat for a certain period of time(probably around thirty seconds)the gameplay sped up, what seemed like, fifty percent. I worked at a Malibu Grand Prix when this game came out and I spent every break on it. The Long Beach track was my favorite. It replicated the original Grand Prix track and was very hard to drive a complete race. Only did it a few times.
Really cool TAS. I like it. A few things to note though, I own the arcade version and I can tell this is MAME. Your supposed to get only 10,000 pts per lap. For some reason MAME can't do this correctly. I hope they fix it someday. Also the audio balance isn't correct. The tire screeching sound is ear piercing. It's not like that on original hardware, that could also be an issue with MAME.
TAS mean Tool-assisted speedrun (or superplay), For a good introduction to TASing: ua-cam.com/video/Ietk1-Wb7oY/v-deo.html See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool-assisted_speedrun for more information or tasvideos.org for more video.
I guess you could say that your car was having a blast at the end there
That was insanely fast! Great driving from the TAS!

Amazing Race
I know this is TAS, but dang, that's insane! An F1 going freaking 300mph!?
Cute Little Miss Namco waves the finish flag. 🏁
I remember playing this game, never knew there was an extended play.
I wish I can try to hit extreme speed on the namco museum 50th anniversary version but it's hard cause the steering is extremely loose
This TAS guy is pretty good, I wonder how he would fair against Billy Mitchell

何故か、ゴール後爆発💥
なんか最高時計をマークするとゴールのはるか先でBANGする仕様になってるらしい
Is this always how the game ends? WIth some big explosions after the finish line is crossed?
It's hit or miss (no pun intended)...sometimes there's an explosion, and sometimes there isn't.
Are You gonna do other Mortal Kombat 1-4 Arcade Scorpion TAS Runs?
Sorry, fighting games are not in my priority. There is many Mortal Kombat TAS on console on tasvideos.org.
@@Prog61 ok.
Fantastic job! Do you plan to do the other courses (Fuji, Seaside, and Suzuka)?
Eventually yes. That is in my (too long) list of TAS to do.
@@Prog61 with your speed skills I'm sure you'll upload them in no time.
