Fela didn’t belong to just Nigeria. Like Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, he belonged to Africa. Continental Africa identifies with what he was about. He is an African Hero. And generations to come must learn about this great African!
To add on the icons you've mentioned, Philip Tabane from Malombo Jazz.
And Ali Fakra Toure, Salif Keita, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and Youssou N'dour!
🎉ayakata
No he’s for the world 🌎
I was born in the late 2000's but I gats to say that Bob Marley and Fela Kuti are on the same level.
Fela is for Nigeria what Bob is for Jamaica. Their legacies will continue to influence generations.

I saw Fela back in the early 90's at Pine Street Theater, Portland OR. The most fantastic show I have ever seen. So blessed to have been there. So sad he is no longer with us. 😢
Every year I come here to rewatch this superb performance. The world didn’t deserve him. He was too good for us
The great Fela, the FOUNDER of Afrobeat 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬❤️
And Tonny Allen
God bless my long gone dad who accidentally introduced me to Fela when I was 16. He wasn't the funnest character in the fam, but he sure had a taste for music. I'm 43 now, still rocking on that Fela masterpiece. Point is, always try to pass something along to the generation coming after you.
He was a great musician and fearless man.A philosopher who sang most of tracks without praising any man.I used to visit his music center in 1976,1978,-1980
Alive or dead, the only Musician that scold and talk to the politicians without looking any ones face. I keep listening to his songs daily. What a legend he was. Respect to you Baba Fela.
Simply the best musician to have come out of Africa
A masterpiece so timeless, profound yet so significant!

I grew up listening to his songs and fell in love with his songs. Though i was not born in his era but he is evergreen❤❤❤
Can't imagine how amazing it'd be If this man is still alive to make music. He was so original!
Confident is not enough to describe this man. When you went thru as much as he went thru and still stand strong yea 27 wives is very fitting for him.
Fela is a legend of african afrobeats. His music lives on though he's been gone a longtime. He sung about real life. He was an advocate for the silent majority.
I'm singing too! Good memories of singing this with African friends back in the days when people knew how to talk about important things .
Dont worry about whether someone is watching in 2019, we’ll be watching 20-30 years from now

2021.
This was one of Africa’s prophet who was not afraid to say what was not popular back then in a military regime that was brutal and remember his mother was killed by the Nigerian government by throwing her off a 20 something story building and it gives me goose bumps to still watch this in 2019 and see what he predicted that was happening and that came to pass and still happening in my country Nigeria.
Human Right is my property so you can't dash me my property. Continue to rest in peace Fela
It didn't make sense to you then?
This is the fundamental lesson America must learn.
Nigeria greatest musician and freedom fighters.
FELA Evergreen i cry for my country today even in the midst of this pandemic, corrupt leaders corrupted and still corrupting our country. Until there is full surgery of our nation, my hope is gone, now is endsarsendswarts who know what is next? Everything is wrong with Nigeria from the root to the top, people desperately are flying abroad for greener pasture and security. 1970's was almost the best ends of Nigeria as I heard from elders. WE are so blessed in Nigeria but unfortunately ruled by highly corrupted leaders to the core, young children dieing of poverty, illness and lots more, people are dieing everyday but they don't care at all, families separated due to runs for better life and lots more bitter experience happening on a daily basis except for the lucky ones among us who are bouyant financially mostly selfmade individuals, yet the poor are getting poorer and poorer while the rich are getting richer and richer. THEY DONT CARE! God please heal our land!
Fela made the word (Fight) by music ... we need to get this power to fight in this world
Damn right, the time is night to rise up my friends...the ruling class are out of hand, need to be woken up!!!
why just now
Yeah, correct man
Good
Davide Pintus music can be a weapon if we use to use it
