You know why??? Because we're scared. Scared to act. Scared to line up these corrupt animals and chop their heads off. Sounds drastic but that's what it's gonna take. Of course there'll be collateral damage but there's no revolution without sacrifice. Nigeria is the way it is today because of us, the citizens. It's entirely our fault. Damn!!!!! Always heard about kuti never really listened to him before. Wow this man really was spitting sense. Its still funny how all this years Africans are still mentally enslaved
All of the Africans are, around the world.
I liked it when he said compliments should come from the listeners and not from a fellow artist, that is true.
You wonder how till date all Nigeria's problems are trapped in Fela's music! Abami eda through and through. He was way ahead of his time. Rest in power Baba 70'.
Wow. I enjoyed every bit of this interview. Baba lives on!
Among all the knowledge he just dropped, can we acknowledge how he was 50 years old during this interview. He looks like he’s in his 30s!
But he felt 19! At least that's what your girlfriend says 😜😜😜
He was a sage and a shaman! Respective to his music he was suchhh a spiritual being!!
Fela is the greatest African artist ever because he's revolutionary and deep.
Lengend!!! such an inspiration, shame not much people like this left
What a LEGEND.... WHAT A GENIUS... A TRUE AFRICAN !!! RIP FELA KUTI❤❤❤❤❤
I was privileged to live a few doors from his house.. What a Mega Star and Legend.. I went there always and witness everything.. Mega 🌟
I don't comments about musicians, comments about musicians SHOULD come from the listeners- olufela anikulapo Kuti
I m watching in October his month,my month in 2024 and i m 40yrs old.I m all FELA
Wow, you are indeed a legend. May your soul continue to rest in peace
As soon as he speaks about Caucasian Powers of them owning the record labels, they say "CUT, interview is over".
True
The director no want trouble o lol
Probably the best interview of the Legend.
....A legend 🙌 who saw the further and was leaving it before we did now ❤
No one Artist today like Babafela...up tide and straight. Respect
Fea-La is like Hendrix without the drugs. He's a Nigerian God who still lives with us through his albums. I'm White but hours of listening and walking to Fea-La taught me to dance just like a Black person. And so he busted all the stereotypes about White people. One LOve , Fea'la , i love you i love you very deeply. Fea'la Kuti is a Djinnius
It's Fela. Why spelling his name as Fea'la? Any reasons for this?
michele piteo beautiful. Glad you liked it
It's all good, indulging in his music and getting "enlightened" ...but please, don't go as far as saying, how "you can now dance like a black person" .... That is getting it twisted! Black folks have uncountable magical dance moves, conjured from CULTURE, TRADITION and SPIRITUAL INCLINATION. It is in the DNA! You can not learn all of that just by listening to his music! Take note.
@Thias176 ....You've just helped me summarise my statement to 'the ignorant one'... Case closed, and thanks.
@@oladipoadeeko625 Because he's an idiot!
every race has a Reason to be born . true true …. fela kuti for every time forever
Watching dis 2023...it even has more meaning
Bossss always remain as a Boossssss, you will forever be remembered, bcos your songs always makes sense, the musicians will have now, to show us cars and houses, will are still searching for your type not found, may your soul rest in peace.
I like the way he looking deep into the interviewer....smiling cus he knows their gimmicks, the questions they are throwing!!!.....A true African Hero!!
i always get goosebumps listening to this man "FELA KUTI" ✊✊✊✊✊
He was way ahead his time.... What a prophet!!
Fela trying very hard to pass a lot of knowledge across but the interview is so bent to ask questions revolving around is understanding and comfort. No shakes! Fela is just the best musician Africa has produced and he's trying to understand while an African, believed to be a total Illiterate (during his time and region), will have such believes and thoughts..
Very brilliant man
Wow this is a true legend. He should have been awarded a doctorate. RIP. I hope we get more people like you (in a lot of ways) in Africa.
Legendary indeed but a worthless doctorate would have been of no value to a revolutionary hero like Fela? His vision and sacrifice were for Africa not personal reward.
I hope all the nigerians who call themselves musicians should go and know or learn why they are in the music or acting movie ,instead of acting all sort of rubbish, when I was very young in nigeria when you listen to fella"s music you clearly get an understanding of what nigeria is turning into. But all the government and some ignorant people only say about feel is all about how he is a bad influence on us but it is only fela who took his children from nigerian school and taught them at home, only in Europe can you challenge the government and education

Moyinoluwa bankole-Sapara in America too. They do nothing but tell lies here in public school
Wow....such insightful response he gave. He's truly a legend. Simply brilliant
Thank you 🙏 May God bless your soul
Ooohhh! I'm crying here!!! 😢😢😢 How is it possible we re still where we re from d time of this interview or will I say even worse!!! 😢
You don't need to cry my dear thats fela for you he spoke the truth but we all ignore that then
Kuldoxy I thought the same thing. The is due to racism and white abuse (now it is purely systemic!). It breaks my soul to know the i justices that rake place in this world.
Bamidele Sk People are STILL ignorant today. We are always under attack from whites and from within from our own people too. It's not easy to navigate as a Black person.
We're too cowardly to take action.
@@starsareangels we aren't a united front, we are easily bought over, our spiritual conciousness is lost, Fela is speaking the way he is because he is spiritually concious and inclined with the land of his birth and fully aware of the tricks perpetuated around the continent. Africans must wake up from their slumber and drop all the stupidity that is brainwashing us to seperate us and keep us in bondage, we are a greater force when united and speaking with one voice, we have to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery and fight the common enemy with every sweat, tear and blood we have. They shall fall at our feet cos nature will always be at our side. United we shall stand but divided we shall fall.

Its great to see Fela, thanks for uploading. Please reconsider having yr website blocking the video for the entire session.
"Every Race has a reason to be Born"
There is only the human race. Race is/was never the problem. The problem is: government. Government is a religion of deception, violence and slavery.

I wish you are still alive, you are so talented and confidence, a man of emulation.we miss you so much ❤️ R I P
He was a prophet that came to deliver God's messages through music .
Fela was so enlightened back then and even for today he is still far enlightened than most. Fela is my GURU!
great fela,you are wonderful dad.
I like your idea and most africans not only leaders but all should listen your messages.
May God keep you in heaven🙏
Love you
Yesterday talk, still real and fresh for today's event. Respect baba.
Guys and Ladies does anyone feel like even though he is dead long time ago....in this interview he speaks and appears like he is living and alive and here today.and speaks with so much wisdom ...does anyone agree., that's why he is Abami Eda.. baba 70..
When we were kids, our parents didn't let us listen to Fela's music. And even when we would hear it play on the radio, it would just be the vocal. Not the over 20 mins total jazz part you'd here.
Got a hold of his album 18 years ago, and I've never looked back. Fela is Music.
Kenny Lopez....That was because our parents generation was still very much trapped in that 'colonial mentality' which we as kids, did not fully understand then...
@@HM-ls5eg yea, you are right.. What they only saw was a man on stage smoking weed, and the back up singers dancing half naked (at least that was their excuse). Discovered his music few years back and I was in awe of the raw art and the messages on the song. E don tey wey Naija problem start.
Truer words have never been spoken🔥..a beautiful soul indeed!
Watching this in 2020 makes me want to cry, an interview older than me but Hits so hard because it's worst now.
Am African, I know my root.
The stuff he said gives one a lot of food for thought. Reality progressive even today.
They are all my favorites. Fela is immortal .
Wisdom roams the streets screaming its message but those for whom it is intended have imprisoned their minds.
