So I just did this on my oathbreaker paladin. I did it a little differently I cleared out the blighted village then I went and cleared out the goblin camp and killed minthara and saved halsin. Had the party for saving the village then i went and spawned Raphael. After that I killed some hyenas and gnolls. I didnt kill the large group surrounding the guys in the cave tho. But im pretty sure you can kill them get the shipment save the peiple in the burning village get karla kill the paladins and the big spider and auntie ethel basically you can do all of act 1 if you want as long as you make him disappear by shooting him while hes talking to another character because he only comes to your camp after you go through the mountain pass. Also if you dont save halsin before going through the mountain pass the rite of thorns will be performed and you wont have access to the emerald grove and it kinda messes the story up for you i imagine. ( I have had a lot of saves doing all the things and having to backtrack so just trust me get halsin and clear the goblin camp first) of you want to kill the druids with minthara and clap her cheeks then also do that first as well. But anyways when i got to the bridge with the dragon and giths i used shadowheart to drink a invisible potion and did drop weapon spell on vos to get his legendary astral plane sword then killed the other giths. Then since im an oathbreaker i had to go to camp and renew my oath and then sleep so that the oath breaker would leave my camp because if you dont after you knockout raphael he will attack you because hes right next to rapahel and he will wreck your whole party easy and also aggros halsin to attack you as well. I dound this out the hard way as well haha. But with the astral plain sword and 3 smites with one being a lucky far realm crit i was doing 20-40 dmg per hit on raphael which sped the time it took to kill him up to 2-3 mins instead of 10+ the only hit thay has to be nonlethal is the last one. So long story short i got 2 legendary items for my paladin at lvl 4 😁

To spell it out in plain understandable terms: Astarian will not know why Cazador is still hunting him, you are then left with a death sentence quest ending with Astorian.
Why so ? You can just encounter szarr in act 3 and kill him anyway right. I didnt take raphaels deal with astarion but helped him ascend anyway
You can give Astarion the Necromancy of Thay book to read, once you complete the Thay quest in Act 3 the book contains the Rite of Profane Ascension
He won't appear because you knocked him out. Take a long rest and he will wake up and appear as normal.
Leaving Astarion on one of the landings of the staircase allows you to start the Cazador fight without Astarion then bring him in. It misses out on a cathartic conversation but that's about it.
This doesn't seem to work past patch #5 :(
"Will return in act 3"
So he wont show up in act 2? How does this work? Please clarify.
He will return in act 2 as well don’t worry
This is great Thank you adventurer.
You walked past a ledge that leads up to a reliable place to get him to spawn. Harper skeleton there
I thinki it's been patched, he doesnt respawn when hit
Yeah same happen to me what a bummer
I think they patched the glitch. He's not showing up again, once I shoot him. Let's see if he shows up later again
I tried this today on honour mode, didnt work. He didnt reapear.
You don't need to speak with Nettie at all for Raphael to approach you.
I tried before speaking with Nettie..but it didn’t work for me
@@blankNYM Well I think it depends on where you go. I had that exact interaction with Raphael in the Underdark near the Selunite Temple thing during my playthrough where Nettie wasn't alive.
what about meeting him in Last light in, will you still see him there play Lancerbord with mol, or will you still meet him outside of general ketheric thorm crypt?
I think they patched this out, i just tried over and over and it switches back to the character next to Raphael and takes you to the house of hope scene.
thats my result too. I didn't know if they patched it or if it just doesn't work on XBox.
@@marcbutterfield4330
Hi Marc, I'm not on x box. It looks patched to me. Have fun!
Sadly it doesn't work for me. Must have been fixed or im just an idiot
Does Raphael only show back up for Act 3 after doing this?
You can see Raphael typically in Act 2 (Lost Light Inn with Mol and Thorm Mausoleum. (There may be more, but that's all I remember)
in my playthroughs in which I didn’t save the grove, (or ignored the Grove), Raphael was not in Last Light. It’s probably triggered by Mol . However if you have Astarion, Ralphie will always be waiting at the Thorm mausoleum. i’m assuming it’s likely that Raphael wouldn’t show up at the mausoleum if Astarion was dead or had perma-booked out of your party.
After knock raphael out, you MUST long rest or else he wont appear because you KNOCKED him out.
Emerale groves, a neighborhood in Cuberpunk 2077 controlled by the Valentinos?
I've gotten Raphael was killed message before even though he was later fine, kind of funny. good old barrels
Not working anymore after the latest patch in February.
Can you knock him out in act 2 as well? The part right before you enter the cave (shar temple)
Nope
You dont have to go this far. Just go up the mountain and he'll spawn
You guys need to know this.
If you shoot at him, then don't talk to him at all, he will show up between Act 1 and 2 at your camp.
Use Silence on him, then he will sit there and let you beat him til unconsciousness.
You can collect the Helldusk Armor, and after a few seconds he will reawaken.
Talk to him, and the rest of the story happens normally.
Except for him permanently stuck at 1 HP 😂
Does anyone have music/song name? Or genre? It has very good vibe in it.
Also if you do it my eay youll be level 5 right after tou knock out raphael maybe even level 6 almsoy if you do all the content in act 1 excluding the underdark if that is considered act1
Great way for tons of early xp thank u
Happy to help
doesn't work for me 12/29/23
he won't reappear when i move into position after the initial hit
What happens if you kill him instead of non lethal? Will he drop the same things he drops in act 3, what happens to the story etc etc?
If i'm not mistaken, he doesnt die, he just tp away something like that. I'm not surr about what happens but I'm sure I saw the consequences and etc in another video or something else and that it's not a good way to kill him. Don't remember if it was because consequences, i think it was bcz he doesn't give you xp/rewards. You can try it anyway, just save when he's low and test both.
Devil's don't die on the material plane. They merely transport back to their home plane.
@@basedbear1605 true but they typically can't transport themselves to the prime material plane either so killing them on the material is usually enough.
i just tried this out with a friend of mine, and yeah, he doesn't die. once his health drops to 0, the game recognizes him as still alive, so he will stay standing until you use the nonlethal passive to knock him out. even if you damage him while he is at 0/666 hp, he will not be rendered dead.
great tune selection
Sooo I’ve watched like 3 different videos and each video has said something different does this actually effect the story progression such as does he not show up in act 2 or????
It doesn't change anything
Ran back and forth there several times without him showing his face
Now that's a good trick
Can you knock him out and get 1400xp everytime you encounter him or does this only work once.
No. Just once i think
can i still do this if ive already encountered him at the selunite outpost in the underdark or no?
Does not work (anymore?) He does not return after i attacked him.
When I tried this he was permanently bugged and wouldn't talk to me later in the game
Patched?
I tried to kill him and he teleported around following me at several key points in the game, but was unspeakable until I went to the mountain pass or shadow cursed lands, then it forces the cut scene. I didn't think to KO him.
I'll have to try this for my.... 1,2, 3,4... fifth play through. Still finding things I've missed
Me too
I‘m wondering if he autoheals in combat on tactician, because a lot of nücs do that in those kindo of situations:
DOESNT WORK !!!!! HE dont respawn after hitting him ranged.
Still viable with patch 5?
Dont
Was this patched?
I think this is patched
hmm, after I shoot raph from range he dissapears and doesnt return, maybe it´s been patched out?
Yep
Tried this again recently and I'm not 100% sure but he did not resurge after getting close. This "might" have been patched?
Patched
But what is in his diary? I'm so curious
poetry, talking about himself, talking about what he dreamt, talking about your tav I think and the tadpole... You can steal his diary later on too, there will be diary 1-3 if I remember right
seems like they patched it i could be doing it wrong tho hes despawning and when i walk over hes gone
A buddy of mine, and I, got his health down to 0, but nothing happened lol. He just stood there...
it didn't work for me ... he simply disappeared and never returned well ... nothing a reload can't fix but ... a bit disappointed. Maybe the patch 4 corrected this? 🤨
Patched
If I already met him on the ladder in the Shattered Sanctum on Act I, can I still encounter him on Blighted Village? Thank you!
No
Wanted to do this, everything went smooth then i realized that something was off.........i have mod that increases difficulty.......my Raphael is really hard to hit and has 2k+ HP......i want to give up
If you're using mods...why do this exploit?
@@blankNYM not gonna say no to free 1400xp
There’s a mod for that tooI I think 🤔
@@blankNYM yes, i know i can be 12 if i want but that will be cheating, but this exploit isn't since the game allow me to distract someone through conversation while stabbing him in the back just ffor some reason Raph doesn't fight back, he must love me right ?
functionnally, there's no difference between this and just giving you a free 1.4k exp right? save yourself the time. It won't make you a worse person if you don't take 2h to hit an opponent with 2k hp. You just save 2h "that will be cheating" any exploit is cheating so just do the short route and get the experience if you wanted to do the exploit anyway
I don't know what consequences are going to happen but this kind of still worked. It's a bit of a pain to deal with him. Because if you deal non lethal damage to him, he will just straight talking to you But if you managed to get actual little damage on him I say Killing gail he wanna talk you while you whale on him in fact The only time you need to deal non-lethal is the last hit. He will get back up or At least he did for me, and if you just keep hitting him with non-lethal damage. You can farm gold coins, literally Infinite money glitch
he showed up at a random place for me before i could do this in my current playthrough.
but what happens if you just kill him after you knock him out?
Nothing happens…he still shows up in your camp at the start of act 2
@@blankNYM LAME
Does this only work on PC or has it been nerfed?
Is there any dialogue from him regarding this encounter?
There’s no conceivable way this is intended, so I doubt it
I don’t think so
It's not working in patch 5 he just vanished never comeback
I don’t think this works anymore…at least it doesn’t work on console 😂
FYI if you knockout an NPC and get exp for it, you get NO exp when you eventually kill them. This isn't a bonus 1400exp, it's just early.
From what has been tested so far this one is different as long as you save and load up a game prior to finding him again by act 3 (which is what people will normally do anyways).
Not that it matters since by than you should be EXTREMELY close to level 12 if not level 12 even before reaching the House of Hope anyways.
To be fair I’d be surprised if you’re at the house of hope below level 12, so much xp in the game
@@failegion7828 This is actually true for everyone. You can get XP for talking your way out of a fight, save and reload, fight and knock them out and you get the xp again, save and reload, and then kill them and you would get the xp a third time.
@@vastnumberI always do Raphael before lvl 12 because I want the incredibile loot as soon as soon as possible
Cutest thing to do to a devil! Thank you!
Glitched for me. After reducing his HP to 0, he didn't get knocked out and just stood there, couldn't do anything except hit him again and make him teleport around the area. Maybe I did something wrong?
Did you switch to passive mode? The HP should be 1, not 0. Maybe that’s why it didn’t work
A proof shows that this guy didn't watch the whole video.
Was this patched I can’t get him to reappear?
Yep
Wha’s the name of the knife? I think I missed that one.
Yeah i cant do this atm the game just teleports him out noe
Doesn’t work anymore he just stays disappeared.
i cant make him spawn
I tried this on PS5, but it dosen't work. Do you know why?
It was patched…sorry
I've had this bug by accident. When I reduced his health to about 400+- hp the game just crashed, lol 😅
Did they fix this in the most recent patch? I'm trying to do this and he isn't reappearing after I shoot him on a different character :/
Yep patched
@@blankNYM darn :( thanks for confirming
