The requirement of getting the staff is Kagha talk to a druid character, (also you should done investigate Kagha before rescuing halsin or going to goblin camp). If your Tav/Main character/ avatar is other class you can still get the staff, in the very last turn of the battle get your TAV as far as you can from kagha or even leave combat and when the battle ends just click your druid character (can be hireling Danton), then a cutscene would play telling you are faithwarden

do not send in you non combat character when you havent pick the hair yet, only go in when you picked the hair. if not, your non combat character goes into combat the moment you walk in.

It is much better to attack him, then leave for the mountian pass, long rest, he will appear in you camp, where you can knock him out with non leathal attacks, if you cast silence on him first, you can loot him for the Helldusk armor, and still talk to him afterwards!

Weird I didn't get the tip choice of just druid response. I have a druid persuasion and a druid nature check though. Did both and never got the staff....wtf

So you really don't have to go THAT far away from the fight. I park my solo character near poison gas at the bottom of the roots stairing into the boss arena. You can even see him hanging in the background of the cutscenes lol. If your feeling like living dangerously you can even bring them in closer and plop them just to the right soon as you enter the arena. On the root bridge on the way to that room with the portal. Just put them right below those green glowing lanterns. I've placed my rogue astarion there before and never got spotted

Isnt necesary read the book, just be a spell caster character then talk with shovel in the room and you get him permanent

Guess this was patched a while ago

Note: You do not have to read the necromancy of thay book. I thought I screwed up since I gave the book to Astarion, but you can still get him if you follow these steps minus the line about reading the book.

If you follow the same steps as a Warlock (and without reading the book) you still get the spell.

at 5:40 you say it gives infinite status but this does not seem to work currently, is this now fixed?

IMPORTANT this does NOT work with a sorcerer in storm domain, dialogue gets fucky and i reloaded 4 times to no avail. use warlock or wizard. i used fiend warlock and it worked fine.
