More like the old King of Random, with Grant - making cool stuff. I like it.

The DIY is the reason I've been watching for over 3 years.

I appreciate that TKoR is keeping its budget conscious build themes even when it has reached 12.5M subscribers, like it was when it had 1K subscribers.
Instead of doing, "Hey, now we have a RED on a robot rig".
This is is one of the best builds to date, useful for any budding videographers.

Hi
Hello
henlo
Yes, this is what we wanna see. Classic DIY builds.
I love how people are commenting before it's even possible to watch the video
the make the video unlisted and then upload them every day this episode was made about a week ago
They keep it on unlisted then make the public
I think it’s to keep the upload schedule right
Patreon
The video was made a week ago ,they edit edit edit edit edit
Logic
With a DIY Probe lens like that, you could basically make your own stock footage for videos. Not only is it cheap to make, but it can also help you save on video production costs, especially if you're on a tight budget.
Thanks for the idea guys. This was an awesome learning experience.

I love this guy. And to watch him and see the joy on his face cause he loves what he does is awesome. He’d be a cool guy off camera as well I bet. That’s what grant said along time ago as to how he got the job. His personality etc.
*Making a very cheap probe lens: STONKS*
I know build videos don't usually go viral but they just remind me of old school TKOR so much and really is the reason I subbed oh so many years ago.
Nate: "Doesn't have to be triple a batteries but they are the smallest.
Everyone: "fair point."
Me: "But what about quadruple a batteries? They are smaller and have enough power to power full pen flashlights."
@Omar Belal wasn't a suggestion just a funny thought
Finally! A proper diy project. Like the king of random actually was about
Maybe film the elephant foam reaction from the inside with it.

Meanwhile: Jazza buys a real probe lense to film a tiny sketchbook
Lol
XD yep

So a few years ago, I bought what was called an "innofun tablet" which is a super cheap android. I bought it for around $10. The reason I bought it was because it came with an endoscope that had an on board light dimmer. It works great with USB OTG on my galaxy note 10. The app that I use to record is called CameraFi. Though its not HD, the frame rate is pretty smooth.
1500 is cheap for a lens ? Well Im glad I was never into photography
Most are like 500$ - 900$ you do have cheaper lenses (around 100$ - 250$)
It's "cheap" because it's a high quality specialty lens. Those ore ofter crazy expensive or crazy cheap ( cheap be into the 100$ to 500$ range) but this probe lens is different though ngl..
1500 for a full frame lens yes, its "cheap"
For filmmaking, 1500 is nothing. Look up the Canon cinema series primes often used for low budget independent films ($5,000 each and they come in a set of 6) Cooke s4 are similar at over 7000 each and the Arri Master Primes (one of the best lens modern Hollywood uses for big budget films) are $30,000 to $45,000 per lens. Full sets are often well over $140,000
@@karate-kampela2950 the lens is full frame? That's nice. I though it was Aps-c did not look into it though.
@@steven_porter @Steven Porter that why I'm trying to get some old "retro" cinema lenses helios is nice but want something real. And arri will always be expensive kinda logical given their position.

What if you put sulfur hexa fluoride and helium in bottles and see how they react in water or liquid nitrogen
They dont? Why would you think they would the gasses will most certainly not do anything with both liquids
Cas den Houting No, you’re wrong. The sulfur hexafluoride will freeze. The helium, however, will do nothing.

Years ago, I found this DIY hack in Popular Science to boost wi-fi reception.
Take a cell phone - doesn't matter the age - and wrap LAN cable in a coil around the phone, plugging one end into your computer.
Turn the phone on.
No matter if you've registered the phone or not, it still has a radio receiver, and the coils around it reinforce the incoming signals and pump them into your computer's LAN port, resulting in better reception and fewer dropped frames. I can attest to the fact that it really works, adding at least 2 bars to signal strength from various sources. Might be worth a shot to see if this idea can be adapted to work with the boroscope's wi-fi transceiver.
A bunch of people already have disliked the video if it hasn’t been 11min?
what?
If you can figure out which pins on the USB control the ring light the5m you could cut the cable and split the lines into the ones that control the light and ones that carry the video - then cap those off onto two different usb plugs. That way you can plug the light controlling side into the original transmitter and the other into your intended recording medium
Wow I've never been so early OMG
Me either lol
They give access to their videos for their Supporters about a week before publishing it so...
When adding the light to the lens, it would have been safer and more efficient to either flatten those wires out more or use a ribbon cable. Put the light on before inserting the lens into the pipe. Makes the package more neat and compact, protects the wires and helps to fill some of the gap around the lens.
They sell probe cameras that are like 20 ft long on eBay and wish for like 30 bucks
As he said, he went for the 80 dollars one because he wanted the highest resolution he could find on a short search
@@NWolfsson a short Amazon search

This is like the awesome original TKOR with Grant when he used old microwaves to make cool things like a spot welder and Jacob’s Ladder. Excellent! More like this, please!
You should do a "guess the close up" type of video. You can get a close up probe shot of different interesting objects, and hold the shot for a moment before slowly panning out and revealing the object.
It would be fun to see if we could guess it before the reveal. The bag of sunchips had me guessing for sure 👍
I’m really curious what hobby store they get all this stuff at, I’d love to be able to try building some stuff.
You can buy a endoscope that connects to your phone via the charging port for around 10-15 pounds (UK currency) from a hardware store or you can get them from wish for cheap and they have a working light and is kind of posable.
Most electrics have a set of test pads on the PCB, mostly these days they are usb pads that access the development side of the board, chop open an old usb cable, separate the v+, v-, d+,d- and connect them to the corresponding pads and it should be seen by a pc.
I don’t have that model to test but it’s normally pretty easy, if it’s not usb protocol it’ll probably be rs232 that may show up as a com port on your pc.
Love these kinds of videos. This is what Grant wanted and he is looking down smiling
i dont want to see much with the probe lens but i have a few ideas for the soda stream first you should carbonate different condiments second you should find a way to melt sugar and turn it into a foam and or carbonate melted sugar to make a sorta fizzy candy ooh and carbonate butter and put it on popcorn and also if there is a way to please do make cotton candy that tastes like popcorn my name is Isaac BTW so if you use these for any video ideas please do shutout i absolutely love your videos and i love that you firstly keep grants legacy alive and also inspire us and keep us from getting bored during this rough time thank you.
