Thank you Nuno, for your praise for King's X. I discovered Extreme's first album and King's X first album around the same time in the 80's. Dug Pinnick is my number 1 bass player and you are my favorite guitar shredder. Who would've thought you guys would still be the virtuosos you are 40 years later. THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE YEARS OF MUSIC!
I worked at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank California for about ten years which is the airport most celebrities travel through when coming to Los Angeles because it's closer to the studios; much easier to get in and out quickly (which is also the reason it's more expensive) so during my years there I got to meet TONS of rock stars. King's X has been my favorite band since Out of the Silent Planet so of course every time I meet rock stars I tell them how much of a big fan I am of THEIR band (first)... and then I ask them if they've ever heard of King's X. They always look at me like I just asked them if they ever heard of food! Their eyes light up; they get excited like "Yeah, man! Are you kidding!? Of COURSE I've heard of King's X! They're amazing!". EVERY rock star I've talked to knows who they are.
Nuno is absolutely correct! i thought i was watching the next beatles when i saw them open for Billy Squier & LA Guns in 1989. King's X are incredible musicians & great guys! All hail The X !! i left the park center before the other two bands took the stage.
Damn straight.....he speaks the truth. Wish people would get a clue about king's x....I love all their albums, however, Out of the Silent planet & Dogman are my personal favs
They are amazing I saw them a few times I also caught you and the band more, YOU are so good live I saw you in different States Your a great guitarist and my ex girlfriends loved you You bastard Lol😂😂😂😂
King's X is a power trio in the same league as ZZTop and RUSH, if not better. personally, I think they are better as they are ALWAYS on their game doing live performances, unlike the other 2. so incredibly under rated, but those of us true King's X fans knows the truth and have since the beginning. if any band deserves to be in the RRHOF, King's X does. indeed.
Yes, RUSH was amazing too. The big takeaway here is that RUSH made millions of dollars, they were huge, they had recognition, many roadies, sound techs, and so on, at their beck and call. King's X is still unknown to many. Which is unfortunate. They deserve so much more, they still tour and do it for the love of music and for their small, but very vocal and appreciative fan base. I do love RUSH as well. I grew up with RUSH. I've seen them live many times, but I've now seen KX more times. I'd say that RUSH does have a lot of synth parts which are triggered by Geddy (I give him a pass as he's playing bass AND singing Hehe), so starting keyboard MIDI sequences with his feet is totally acceptable. King's X doesn't have the keyboard parts yet still manages to sound very full, also with amazing harmonies. Anyway_, yes, both are amazing bands. I wish KX was more well known. Same with a band who broke up in 1994 (Jellyfish), but that's a story for another time.
Yep, please come home to me Mr. bulbous, but it actually started at the first record and then quadrupled on the secondLol grateful to be in our era with these guys privileged
It's funny, because the first time I listened to a King's X album (Gretchen goes to...) I was thinking: "Oh, man! Those harmonies, that guitar... they totally remind me of Extreme!".
Met this fucker at a signing he was doing in Arkansas. When it came time for him to sign my flier, I pointed to his picture and asked him who that was. And his response was, "Just some punk." How fucking cool was that!
100%. King's X is one of my favorite bands of all time. I've seen hundreds of bands live, and King's X is consistently a Top-10 best show. Best blend of heavy, melodic, cerebral, soulful, rock, blues, and harmony all at once. Doug Pinnick's voice is so good that he can sing a mediocre song and make it freaking classic. Also, all three guys are have amazing solo work as well as a plethora of incredible side projects. If you listen to rock music and aren't a huge King's X fan...well, you don't really like rock music that much. ;P They inspired so many other bands. Time to get on board if you're not there already.
Nuno didn't really start listening to King's X until after "Faith Hope Love". He saw them live during that tour and has been a fan ever since. King's X ended up touring with Extreme in 2008 and Nuno has said that it was his favorite tour because they got to share the stage with one of his favorite bands.

You are spot on Nuno! Kings X is the greatest "3 piece" band to ever walk the planet!
As much as I love Rush, King's X edges them out for me as far as a favorite. Both amazing bands, but King's X speaks to my soul.

Well said that man! Lucky we don't need to catch up as we've been loving King's X music for twenty years or so already!
King's X is a power trio in the same league as ZZTop and RUSH, if not better.

rush wasn't on their game?

Most underrated rock band ever
As Nuno says 'listen to the records' King's X rules!!!
The reason I love King's X is because the talented lead singer is an old buddy of mine, Douglas Pinnick
My maiden name is Linda Lane
He knows wassup.
Awesome Nuno ! If you know you know .
.Yess Nuno
I can understand if someone doesn't like a band, but to have never heard of them is criminal.
AMEN!!
It's funny, because the first time I listened to a King's X album (Gretchen goes to...) I was thinking: "Oh, man! Those harmonies, that guitar... they totally remind me of Extreme!".
You can see the Beatles influence on both of them.
What a cool shoutout
if you didn't know that Nuno loved 'em...just check out "Pilots" by Dramagods... could be on a Kings X album...classic greatly KX influenced song...
Era, time or place means nothing........good music is good music. Damn I love Kings X
Thank you, Nuno; well said.
Met this fucker at a signing he was doing in Arkansas. When it came time for him to sign my flier, I pointed to his picture and asked him who that was. And his response was, "Just some punk."
