the camera car clearly steers into the path of the other car. You can see the car at fault slowing down (brake lights go on at 0:13) to allow them to continue and merge in behind, but the camera car steers infront to cause the crash. You see he is perfectly in his lane, the golf slows down and he ends up half into the left lane
it may be the law, but if that gets taking to the police im sure itll go in favour of the golf tbh. He realised the mistake, slowed to avoid any insidents but the camera car intentionally goes for the hit.
i 100% agree with you the golf driver was dumb and should have planned better. But at the end of the day, they done what was right, and slowed down to merge properly. The camera blatantly drives infront of the golf to cause the crash. Its so obviously done

Bad Drivers of Northamptonshire that was exactly my thought he could see the van and could of stopped or it was he to busy on his phone as that was the first thing we saw on the floor
richard gibbs The phone was probably mounted on the handlebars as a satnav - you'd struggle to go that fast with only one hand on the bars.
If you watch the clip again, you'll see that he was braking hard - he'd almost come to a stop when the van hit him. He probably could have started braking a bit sooner, which would have avoided a collision, but let's face it - the van driver shouldn't have been overtaking into oncoming traffic, it was completely his fault.
WelwynWheels I don't ride bikes so wasnt sure and definitely agree van driver was 100% at fault he was to busy in a rush to wait for a few seconds also I suppose it was a helmet cam as I saw the van pull out and assumed he would of at the same time till I realised the can is higher up

Well it depends on the legal teams.
Hopefully the Golfs insurer will push for atleast 50/50 as the Cam car was the one that caused the crash instead of trying to avoid the danger.
SnottyShows I doubt it - he sped up to cut the Golf off. Yes, the Golf was in the wrong lane, but it was in front and indicating to change lanes; if the dashcam driver was a decent bloke, he'd have ease off the gas and let the guy in, but instead he sped up and caused a crash. To be honest, I think he's more at fault than the Golf.

4:21 - Pisses me off when people don't understand "merge-in-turn". It's called "merge-in-turn", not a "free-for-all". Although after the BMW pushing in front - I'd drive a bit more defensively (backing off a bit) as I would expect this, from a little man syndrome'd knobber.

Kempy 79 I believe it is a merge in turn road. Hence the arrowed road markings and 2 lanes merging into one for the slip road
LightningPete merge in turn is for slow traffic situations only and not for free flowing traffic. the road markings (IE the 1014 arrows) are in lane 2 only and therefore they are an instruction to the driver of lane 2 to move over to lane 1 and the onus is on that driver to do the manoeuvre safely.

So many of these accidents are avoidable, people just seem to be happy to smash in to people.
poor minority cant even afford shoes, im a "minority" and i have 2 pairs of trainers and a pair of hefty boots. probs should privilege check myself XD
So many of these could have been avoided. I think some of these people 'want' to have accidents, so long as they can argue it wasn't their fault. However through their inaction they as are just as to blame as the drivers they so vehemently criticise.

Its a bit ridiculous - it feels like the people with dashcams suddenly feel righteous invincibility and just pile on ahead right into hazards. The driver sees the car is doing something stupid - and continues going! There are literally thousands of idiots driving around and I seem them every day, but I dont get into accidents because I choose not to accelerate into someone who is obviously presenting himself as a hazard. Same with the cyclist - its plainly obvious that the vehicles are overtaking a poorly parked (or reversing) vehicle - its plainly obvious that there isnt any space there - why the hell is he battling on?! What did he expect was going to happen? The drivers could be massive dicks about the whole thing, but does he not have a brain? If you see someone is being a tool and not giving you way - dont just continue anyway! Clips like these are infureating because the cammer, sitting on their moral highground goes on to make a stupid and potentially dangerous sitation into an even dummer and categorically more dangerous one.

PRO-TIP: Dont accelerate into a hazard.
In quite a few of the clips like these, especially the 1st & 2nd in this video, good obs & a little care can avoid collisions & heavy braking by recognising someone has mad a mistake or bad decision & leaving a little room / slowing earlier.
As an acting transport manager, one of the questions I have to ask following an RTC is, was thete anything you could have done to avoid the collision, & in the 1st clip on this vid in particular, yes there was, allow numpty to cross in front instead of trying to drive round him!

The van driver at around 6-30secs should be nicked on the spot for driving without footwear.
it's not illegal.. I do it and have done for 6 years.. it's safer than some footage wich can come loose or get caught under a pedal.. my foots hardly likely to come loose.. and trust me it's not illegal.. I've had police pull me over for no insurance before when I forgot to update it and he said its odd and he wouldn't like it as it probably hurts but it's perfectly legal.. he double checked that for me

If you see an accident about to happen.. Don't continue because you're in the right! avoid it we still get the point without you causing a crash!

The only surprise was the dashcam driver, who insisted on staying as close as possible to the car that was causing him the most grief!

We've all atleast once had a "Oh shit" moment, I've personally never had a crash but I admit I have cut someone off before in my van. I was astonished how they was sat perfectly in my blind spot as I looked and then I suddenly saw their bonnet in the corner of my right eye, so I swiftly returned to my lane and apologised.

2:39 - That VW could hear the clutch slipping as he drove by. It failed its last MOT on ball joints and the rear shocks are leaking so it'll have serious suspension faults, which are likely to lead to loss of control.
Another cheapskate previous owner who has sold a car because the scrap value weren't enough. Should be criminal to sell a car without proof of license to write onto the logbook, you could put anyone's name or address down and there's no way of checking if it's correct or not.

In a few of these clips, the cammer was driving too fast. I've also noticed that some of the idiots were driving BMWs. The white van man who hit the cyclist was performing a dangerous overtake so he was clearly in the wrong and then he plays the racist card when he's confronted.
these are so benign compared to so many others from around the world - barely notable or worth the effort of making a video...

A few clips on here are just genuine mistake like we all do,
some could have slowed up as anyone could see what was happening...eg the overtaking cars and the bike going toward them....cyclist, why carry on pedaling, just ease up.

Goose. You were in the wrong. The BMW driver was already alongside you and was about to pass you but could not because the lorry slowed down. He had nowhere to go. You should have slowed down and let him in. I don't blame them for slowing down in front of you and flashing you with their hazards.

4:01, 5:16 The van driver was surely at fault, but wth was the cyclist thinking?? It was almost as if he wanted to get into a crash just to prove a point!!! He had plenty of time and space to avoid the van driver.
You could see him shake his head at the Golf driver and slowly veer into the middle of the road to ward him off; but as the van approaches, he just continues on and crashes
